cricketmum84 · 30/11/2019 13:00

Morning all! And welcome to the December edition of lose 7lbs!

A huge to welcome to the newbies, long term followers and contributors and the lurkers!

I would dearly love to lose 7lbs in December but accepting that I'm probably going to relax things a little, have some chocolate or some cheese, mulled wine and stollen.

I will still be following ww and 16:8 most days. I'm also going to try stay mostly vegan with the exception of local eggs which I think should help me stay on track!

Stats are:
Dec starting weight: 18.13
Dec target weigh: 18.7
Loss for November: 3lbs
Loss for 2019: 6stone 5lbs

Happy December to all and let's get our festive groove on!

Happy belated Christmasses all.

It was going well then my neighbour who works in the supermarket gave me a free bottle of Prosecco when I popped in.

A friend and I agreed no gifts, what does she give me? Food gifts.

So plus 2-3 pounds but that is not too bad collateral.

Next year I think I will plan the treats more.

Ecci · 27/12/2019 19:22

Up 2.2 lbs, could have been worse, I suppose. Definitely starting diet again tomorrow, as my stomach feels like it's had enough chocolate, mince pies, etc.

Egghead68 · 27/12/2019 19:30

Just braved the scales. 66.5kg so up 0.9kg I think (losing track). I think my goal was to end the month at 66kg - will go back and check.

Ate veg bake and sprout stir-fry this evening in the end but also burned 300 cals in the gym.

I think this period is harder than Christmas Day itself, weight-wise.

Egghead68 · 27/12/2019 20:10

Ok a plan for the rest of the month:

Sat 28: fruit salad; soup, lentil stew, glass wine; veg stir-fry (1450 cals)
Sun 29: fruit, trifle, salad, gym (1500 cals)
Mon 30: fruit, trifle, salad, veg Rosti thing, gym (1500 cals)
Tues 31: Fruit, salad, baked Brie, trifle, champagne, gym (2000 cals)

I’m going to hide my leftover chocolates and booze at work and freeze the leftover cake and nibbles.

Tryingtwo · 27/12/2019 21:48

Today was hard, but I finished on 1360 cals for the day. I realised that I haven't drunk much of anything today so I will try and drink 2 glasses of water before I go to bed.

Ihatesundays · 27/12/2019 22:05

Feel so much better this evening. The food really caught up with me this morning but I’ve eaten very little today (apart from a few extra chocolates).
I’m not having anything to drink the next few nights and just back to normal eating if I can. Back to working out tomorrow night too.
I don’t think I’ll lose anything these holidays. Just want to get back down to where I was.

Thinking I should do something with my diet in the new year. I’ve been doing 16:8 but not really losing anything and I want to lose another stone by May. Confused what to do really...

Upupandiwent · 27/12/2019 23:32

Thanks for the welcome everyone and @cricketmum84 (not sure how to make the text go bold) what a fantastic weight loss you've had!
I've just been reading through the last few pages. I'm going to do a combination of low calorie and 16:8 fasting. I'll try to incorporate some exercise into this a few days a week and get back into running.
Does anyone have any diet tips that are reallly working for them? Thank you

DownUdderer · 28/12/2019 00:19

Hi. I had a few off plan things yesterday but I’ve had no gain. I drink as much water as I can and it’s really good for me. I’ve been having sugar free hot chocolate for a treat.

We’re at the beach and it’s really windy!

Egghead68 · 28/12/2019 07:12

65.9kg this morning (up 0.3kg over Christmas which sounds about right).

I’m impressed by those of you with no gains!

@Upupandiwent I guess one diet tip would be to plan your day’s eating in advance. I would also say lots of veg, fruit & exercise and don’t deprive yourself of anything because that makes it hard to keep going (just have a small portion and eat less of something else). Good luck and welcome.

bluepixie · 28/12/2019 07:37

Upupandiwent I find planning the key too. Ow I eat the whole fridge! I try keep lo wish carb as it fills me up
Today
Brekkie 2 eggs and salmon
Lunch home marinated cod and salad
Dinner family insisting on a curry but I’m choosing marinated prawns and going to stay strong

Find day 1 after a break the hardest
Egghead I’ve got DH to hide all bad things from me!

cricketmum84 · 28/12/2019 10:00

Morning all! It's so close to the end of the month now! I'm down 1lb today so I'm really happy :)

Planning is also key for me. I follow ww and use the app. I meal plan a week at a time and then use the meal plan to create a shopping list and stick to it so we don't have extras in the house. Then every morning I put all my meals for the day into the app so I can see where I stand.

Plan for today is:
Am - 3 pints of water
L - crumpets and marmite (fancies them for ages!)
D - jackfruit chilli and a little brown rice

Have a lovely day everyone!

58.9kg today, my lowest this month, but hosting neighbours today and tomorrow, so not sure if I can keep it.
I hope they help with eating up all the treats in the house.

I don’t have much of an advice, and I have it the easiest in this thread as I’m breastfeeding a hungry baby and that burns a truckload of calories. But this is what works really well for me:

16:8 (where possible I prolong the fast to 17-18 hours, black coffee in the morning really helps)
Fasted HIIT when I can be bothered
Zero snacking/grazing - if I want a fruit or a treat I eat it at the end of a meal, so I have 3 eats a day, spaced roughly 4 hours apart
Drinking only water and black coffee

lilgreen · 28/12/2019 10:42

Not weighing for a few days since my +3lb on Boxing Day.
Yesterday
B: 1x toast with peanut butter
L: avocado salad
D: homemade burger in brioche bun, a few oven chips, salad, 2 glasses of Merlot after saying I wasn’t drinking.
Today is a family party but the last indulgence.

lilgreen · 28/12/2019 10:43

B: small avocado on a crumpet, espresso
L: nothing
D: curry at a party

Upupandiwent · 28/12/2019 16:37

Thanks for all the advice. I'm trying the 16/8 with low cal/low carb.
Didn't eat til 2pm today, then had three crackers (I know, not very low carb!) with a bit of cream cheese. Turkey and salad with a tablespoon of mayo. Four Pringles (again, not low cal or low carb!) Writing it all down is helping me see where I cheat here and there and I suppose all those little snacks do add up.
Dinner tonight will be salad with some protein. I must stick to this!

I'm not really calorie counting, but sort of guessing. If I start counting calories then I feel I might get a bit obsessed. Mind you, that might be where I've always been going wrong?

WoollyFoolly · 28/12/2019 17:42

Still going on the Christmas goodies! Urgh. Didn't eat anything until a chicken salad at 2pm today though then ate biscuits and have such bad stomach cramps I won't eat any tea today.

bluepixie · 28/12/2019 19:06

Upuoqndiwent I have to calorie count ow I can be 500 or so over or under so I use
My fitness pal and weigh everything. Makes me obsessive though! But I’m a bit all or nothing. I either diet or eat everything! Aiming to be normal and eat like a normal person once his last half stone is off...

Was strong at the curry house - just tandoori prawns for me. No naan no rice :)

DownUdderer · 29/12/2019 04:48

I'm managing some light exercise and I'm pretty on plan with food, I like a 'mindful eating' approach. I'm planning fish for dinner.

I've ordered a few pieces of clothing from the sales and I can't wait for them to arrive!

Egghead68 · 29/12/2019 06:00

Morning. 66.0kg (I’m full of stir-fried sprouts).

Have a good day everyone.

WoollyFoolly · 29/12/2019 08:39

Morning, I’m envious of the stir-fried sprouts! We never have any leftover, should have bought more.
12.0 this morning, I’m amazed.
I’ve just downloaded a load of meal planning apps to see if that helps me plan a bit more. I do reasonably well with evening meals because we use recipe boxes most weeks but rarely plan lunches.

Ihatesundays · 29/12/2019 08:50

72.6kg this morning. Trying to get back down under 72 as usual.
Went on the exercise bike last night, might do a fitness blender 5 day challenge (and skip New Year’s Eve).

Not sure if I should start a new diet next week or just calorie count more?

cricketmum84 · 29/12/2019 08:54

Morning all! Day 29!

Still 18.12 which is ok because I had prosecco and a small tiramisu last night! The jackfruit chilli was gorgeous, I had forgotten how much I like jackfruit and I ended up with 3 portions leftover so have frozen them in individual containers with brown rice ready for work lunches.

Lazy day today catching up on the Christmas specials we missed and recorded :)

Plan is:
Am - water and green tea
L - cheese and crackers (got to get this cheese used up before veganuary)
D - Morrison's vegan no pork pie and mushy peas.

Will probably be back up to 18.13 again tomorrow.

7Worfs · 29/12/2019 09:45

Hah, I’ve been eating cheese and crackers (and soup) for lunch since Christmas Day, I hope I’m done with all the cheese by NYE. I’ve found an unexpected love for Wensleydale.

A bunch of neighbours coming over at 11am for coffee and mince pies, I’m looking forward to it!

Weight same as yesterday, I’m happy with that.

bluepixie · 29/12/2019 11:33

It’s so hard with the leftovers! We been away at parents got home with loads of mince pies and Chocs everywhere
My food
Brekkie - 2 eggs and ham
Lunch - glourious soup pot
Dinner - going for sushi with a friend will stick to sashimi and no rice
Orange and nuts for snacks
I try to do 1000 cals as I don’t loose otherwise.

31st is gonna be a blow out though as have a brunch and dinner

Love tiramisu cricket. Well done for a small one!
Am gonna weigh tmrw was 11.2 on the 27th but I was 10.11 before Xmas fun began!

Upupandiwent · 29/12/2019 12:51

Those cheese and crackers will be the undoing of us all! Grin

I'm staying with friends for a few days so I won't have much control over what I eat, plus there will be a lot of alcohol about. I'll stick to prosecco as it's only 80 cals per flute. Well, that's my excuse Wink
