Lose lbs in September

Following on from the previous monthly loss threads, here’s Septembers. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates.

The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

I will continue to:-

  • follow a low carb Mediterranean diet as advocated by Dr Michael Mosley. It’s great for your heart health as well as keeping blood sugars in check.
  • Intermittent Fast IF
  • Calorie Count
  • Eat Mindfully and address emotional blocks as and when they arise.
  • Meal Planning
  • Use a tracker such as MFP.
  • Mantra is I’m not on a diet, nothing is banned, I do sustainable healthy eating.

How do you intend to lose/maintain?

Any tips you’d like to share?

I'm up 2lbs and I've got blinking food poisoning. Angry Our freezer conked our and defrosted so we've been trying to eat everything. I ended up eating a frozen M&S Meatzza and I've been a bloody mess all night and day. I assume the gain is my body trying to hold onto water. So I shall be seeing our September a grand total of 2.6ls down rather than the 5 odd I was. Though silver lining looks like I'm doing an (unintentional!) extended fast todayEnvy

Chin up @cheesenpickles. it's all done now and tomorrow is a new month and new start.

I am declaring a loss of 5.5lbs for September but far more importantly I can't recall the last time I hated myself for eating. I am no longer arguing in my head with the people who didn't care for me or feed me as a child when I feel I shouldn't be eating. I had lunch at 2.45 but that's fine as that was when I was hungry. I am relearning my hunger signs.

Thank you all for sticking with me and not dumping me after my August long tantrum.

Let's all start again tomorrow and I will look out for the already started October thread.

@cheesenpickles blinkin’ ‘eck lovie! Hope you feel better soon Flowers

@SunshineCake you have made such progress .... you’re an inspiration!

My day hasn’t gone to plan. My OH ordered his favourite alcoholic tipple on-line. When it was delivered they asked me for photo id 😮. Quite flattered as I’m nearer to 60 than 50 Grin

Then when I went to unpack the chicken to put it in the oven there was a dreadful stench. So it was promptly wrapped and binned. You can’t be too careful with poultry. Had a big veg stir fry with scrambled egg mixed in. Lovely it was.

Kitchen now closed on September. Bring on October!

Yes Busted, the watch and our phone contract are together for a small additional fee.
although food choices are challenging as dh doing more in the kitchen, i will achieve a perfect month, 4000 steps in and 16 minutes of exercise by noon, no reason to doubt i cant double this.
not sure when i'll weigh myself after all i'm wearing a temporary cast. i get a new one oct 9th.
here's hoping everyone is ready for good food choices in october!

I had an early wee walk so had 6000 steps by 10am. Thought it might improve my TOTM approaching >>psycho doom and gloom mood Blush

Finished up on just under 15000. Not amazing but a good start to the week. I use a Garmin activity tracker, just a fairly cheap one with the free app.

I promised I'd go for cake with my mum tomorrow, it'll have to replace lunch! Grin

@fallfallfall I was tempted to replace my defunct Fitbit as I have an iPhone but I’m now payg rather than contract. I received a Fitbit Versa Light yesterday. So far so good. I do find a device motivating. I like your goals of step/exercise by noon! Might set one of those up myself.

@galvantula early bird! Hopefully it’ll reduce the TOTM ‘doom & gloom’ . You have my utmost sympathy! It can be so disabling. Enjoy your ‘cake’ lunch Grin
