Following on from the previous monthly loss threads, here’s Septembers. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates.

The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

Link to August’s Thread

I will continue to:-

  • follow a low carb Mediterranean diet as advocated by Dr Michael Mosley. It’s great for your heart health as well as keeping blood sugars in check.
  • Intermittent Fast IF
  • Calorie Count
  • Eat Mindfully and address emotional blocks as and when they arise.
  • Meal Planning
  • Use a tracker such as MFP.
  • Mantra is I’m not on a diet, nothing is banned, I do sustainable healthy eating.

How do you intend to lose/maintain?

Any tips you’d like to share?

Thinking of you @SunshineCake and @Knitclubchatter and hope you "go" @galvantula!

I'm 0.1kg from 10kg which was my starting aim - never thought I'd get close so quickly! Am giving myself the day off today as things are hideously stressful at the moment.

Breakfast: small hot choc & choclate twist (while just taking 15 minutes with my nose in a book)
Lunch: twice baked jacket potato & salad
Tea: oven baked fish, chips & peas
Pud: chocolate brownie & ice cream

Will be back with you all properly tomorrow.
x

SunshineCake · 25/09/2019 15:05

I've got a headache so can't read long but wanted to say he's there, unpacked, dh is on his way home and I've cleaned half of ds room but I'm taking it easy for the rest of the day as my back is really hurting. I'll do the rest of his room on Friday if not tomorrow. Thank you for all the good wishes.

galvantula · 25/09/2019 15:45

I'm going to be so over my calorie aim today... A colleague brought in amazing home baking and I had a little bit. Blush plus I had leftover risotto for lunch 🐷🐷

I'm going to drop the noodles from today's dinner and have extra veg in an attempt to compensate.

Thanks for the positive 💩 vibes 😂

@busteddreams life gets in the way sometimes I think! Never enough hours in the day....

DrDiva · 25/09/2019 17:22

Hello everyone, apologies for the slight hysteria in the weekend! Weighed myself this morning at 8kg less than her scales did so 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sorry about your fall @Knitclubchatter. Can I join you on that ouchy bench? Just sprained my ankle badly at work so won’t be doing my usual walks for a while. Sad

Knitclubchatter · 25/09/2019 23:26

Hello everyone, I had a good market day. Sold 14 jars of honey. Got over 11K steps in. Decent food choices.
Nothing fast pace or cardio but I should be maintain the low end of 150.

cheesenpickles · 26/09/2019 07:39

@DrDiva her scales are blatantly broken. I've woken up feeling rough as you like with a sore throat. Sad Cancelled a class at the gym and after the school run just going to hibernate and work from home. However jumped on the scales and I'm down a 1lb this morning. Almost to the 150s. Woohoo!

Foreverlexicon · 26/09/2019 08:53

I’ve had a good couple of days. Monday was rough mentally but picked myself up the last 2.

Not been eating super low cal but I’ve had proper stuff and made healthy choices. I think this will be the way for a while as to be honest I’ve been on dangerous territory lately slipping back into disordered eating and it’s more important I sort that out. Plus if I do, I lose weight anyway even if it’s super super slow. I mean it’s taken about 6 months but I have lost about 10lb so if I keep plugging then it will come off!

My work belt has gone back up a notch so I’m happy with that! I find weighing quite triggering so thinking maybe I should just gauge myself with my belt but I’m not sure I have that kind of willpower.

MrsJonesAndMe · 26/09/2019 10:28

Hi all

Well done @Foreverlexicon that sounds very sensible.

Hope you feel better soon @cheesenpickles

Well done @Knitclubchatter

How are things today @galvantula?

That's a relief @DrDiva

Well my "day off" has resulted in a gain of 0.6kg Angry so instead of treating myself to a hot chocolate at soft play, I had water and an easy peeler once back home. 2miles walked with double buggy and another 2 to go this afternoon. 16 1/2hrs fasting window. I will be having pizza tonight, as I couldn't face choosing something that needed cooking for tea. Soup for lunch.

Good luck all!

BustedDreams · 26/09/2019 20:33

Hello lovely lot. Fly past visit. I nearly burnt the cottage down yesterday Blush

Left oven gloves on top of cooker top. It’s electric and I’d forgotten to turn one of the rings off. There were flames and everything. The oven gloves are burnt to a black mess. I can still smell smoke.

Omg busted hope nothing else got damaged and you're over the shock!

MrsJonesAndMe · 26/09/2019 21:06

Oh my goodness, hope that it hasn't damaged any of your hard work! Hope you're OK.

Been a tough day here, struggled not to eat the whole house - curse being a woman - but got through OK. Did some yoga and just had a nice shower.

Night all, take care!

fallfallfall · 27/09/2019 04:47

namechange from knit...
yes i'm getting my steps in but not making good food choices...falling victim to cheese and crackers.
by the evening the hand is so sore :(

SunshineCake · 27/09/2019 12:27

Hi everyone

Same weight as Tuesday but having had lunch out twice this week and a few crisps and bit of chocolate, I'm still happy

Busted!! are you okay and over the shock ?

fallfallfall - hang in there but remember not to eat 6our feelings, sore hand in this case.

Out now to brave the rain as have to take my youngest to the hospital. Apprehensive. Worried. Hoping it will be a waste of time in a way.

MrsJonesAndMe · 27/09/2019 13:58

Hi all, hope all goes well @SunshineCake

Our school has its fair this PM - I've been waiting for a cancellation since yesterday, but nada.. weather not great!

Hope that you can regain control @fallfallfall

Today has been a bit more in control 16 1/2 hours fast, hot choc and brownie while setting the world to rights with a friend, soup & watermelon. Tea - chicken curry.

cheesenpickles · 27/09/2019 15:52

I'm up 0.2lb but I was sick yesterday and ate half a pack of biscuits for "medicinal" reasons. Back on it today, feeling better and even went to the gym. Dh has promised a takeaway tonight so I'm trying to decide what I'll have to be good based on the outlet. Current picks are chicken shish, egg foo yung or tikka grill.

fallfallfall · 27/09/2019 17:53

153.9 seems like I will have maintained
I’ve done so well up until the end of April, lost 16 lbs (from January).
I know how to focus and do the final 15 but just not giving it the right effort.

SunshineCake · 27/09/2019 18:51

All went well at the hospital thank you, @MrsJonesAndMe. DS2 was upset though as he felt he had wasted the doctors time. I told him they don't mind when it is children and it did need checking.

MrsJonesAndMe · 27/09/2019 20:14

Back to feeling like I want to eat eat eat...but I've brushed my teeth.

Glad it was OK @SunshineCake. I'm sure they don't mind. We had a long drawn out saga with DS last year which was nothing but needed checking too. Otherwise you don't know that it's nothing.

Ah, you'll get there @fallfallfall

What did you choose @cheesenpickles? I'm out to a Thai place tomorrow night so will be eating later than normal and out

BustedDreams · 27/09/2019 21:50

So sorry I’ve been mia. I seem to be forever apologetic. Sorry.

We have had an horrendous 5 days. Won’t go into detail as I don’t want to derail thread or be identifiable. Everyone safe, will be speaking to community police/council again on Monday. Back home now. Proper low i mood so won’t hang about.

Keep doing what you’re all doing, you’re doing great!

cheesenpickles · 27/09/2019 22:13

Sorry to hear you've had trouble @busted Sad

Went for stir fried mixed veg and garlic chilli ribs. But they ended up with loads of sauce so not sure how carb... diet.... whatever fur belt they were. Oh well. The evening got a tad detailed when I discovered our fridge freezer (thankfully not our main one!) has given up the ghost. I've got half a kilo of prawns I need to use up tomorrow and the kids have eaten a months worth of chicken nuggets. Eeek!

SunshineCake · 27/09/2019 22:25

That's upsetting to hear @BustedDreams. Hope everything is better very soon.

fallfallfall · 27/09/2019 22:35

oh busted :(
positive thoughts coming your way from canada

FiveShelties · 27/09/2019 23:00

So sorry @BustedDreams hope everything works out well. Kia kaha (stay strong) from NZ.Flowers

FiveShelties · 27/09/2019 23:04

I have achieved my goal of 9st 12lbs today and am delighted. Now all I need to do is keep it off. I don't think a month in the UK is going to help, but will have a good go.

Have a fantastic week-end everyone.

fallfallfall · 28/09/2019 04:56

I’m getting the steps in. Putting in some effort. The ankle’s improved the hand is bad...a friend of mine suspects a boxers fracture.
