Following on from the previous monthly loss threads, here’s Septembers. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates.

The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

Link to August’s Thread

I will continue to:-

  • follow a low carb Mediterranean diet as advocated by Dr Michael Mosley. It’s great for your heart health as well as keeping blood sugars in check.
  • Intermittent Fast IF
  • Calorie Count
  • Eat Mindfully and address emotional blocks as and when they arise.
  • Meal Planning
  • Use a tracker such as MFP.
  • Mantra is I’m not on a diet, nothing is banned, I do sustainable healthy eating.

How do you intend to lose/maintain?

Any tips you’d like to share?

Oh no @BustedDreams thinking of you and yours

That's amazing @fallfallfall

How are you doing @Tia3251?

Really tired today, so going to do as little as possible. Nice hot shower to start with!

SunshineCake · 28/09/2019 07:48

Morning all

Same weight since Tuesday but I'm okay with that. Get me. August thread I would have been moaning.

I'm tired as doggy woke me up. Cold. Want to stay in but have to walk the dog.

Have a good day everyone.

SunshineCake · 28/09/2019 08:02

Grin 0.4lbs down. Yay!

MrsJonesAndMe · 28/09/2019 11:02

Grin Hooray @SunshineCake

I'm here to report that I've made it to my initial target which was to lose 10kg. Can't quite believe that I've done it in 2 months. The thyroid meds are definitely helping things, but I know Ive made major changes. Going to stick with it and see where I end up/feel happy/what my body wants to do.

Have a great weekend all!

SunshineCake · 28/09/2019 11:56

Well done @MrsJones. Your post has made me realise I don't have a target. Maybe I should get one ?!

Gee tell us more, Dawn. 🙄🙄🙄

Spam bot reported ladies... As you were. 😅

fallfallfall · 28/09/2019 16:15

If I lost 90 lbs...I’d weigh 63 lbs, I assume I’d be in a coffin. Life’s short enough as it is, I’ll plod along with my occasional indulgences and work on reaching my goal without depriving myself continuously.

Hello you lovely lot.

Here’s a link for October’s thread.

13 weeks/95 days to 2020. This year has absolutely flown by. I’m somewhat lighter than this time last year and hopefully I will repeat that pattern in 2020.

This month (or 3) has been dreadful for me and my oh due to nothing of our own doing. We are getting by day by day and by early 2020 we will see some light at the end of the tunnel.

I’d like to thank all you lovely ladies (gentlemen welcome too but I don’t think we have any with us) for your support! You are a lovely lovely group of people and I really appreciate your posts. More than you’ll ever know.

Let’s greet 2020 feeling awesome!

At long last I’ve read up on this thread.

@Knitclubchatter @fallfallfall how’s the hand and ankle? I hope you’re recovering!

@Awittyusernameishardtofind I love GBBO too. I agree it makes for appetising viewing.

@SunshineCake hope everything went ok with your first born and the goodbye. We’re there tears? It’s such a special time though. I’m coming around from all the recent stress (small fire didn’t help) but we are in a situation that won’t be easily resolved.

@MrsJonesAndMe Sounds like you’re doing great! Nearly 10kg is fantastic!

@galvantula home baking is so hard to resist. I was baking last week for my oh to take to his hobby and I didn’t lick the bowl looks proud

@Foreverlexicon It’s a great feeling when the belts tighten up a notch. Happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

@FiveShelties Thank you lovely lady ❤️ Congratulations on reaching your goal! 🌟🥇🏅Where about in the uk are you visiting?

It’s fractured. Have a temp cast on. Might need to be pinned.
I fly to MTL on Tuesday. And I’ll be really miffed if I need surgery before I travel and screw up a whole month of walking.
I won’t leave this cast on beyond Monday, I can only imagine the smell.

MrsJonesAndMe · 29/09/2019 08:06

Oh no @fallfallfall

Sorry to hear it's stressful with you @BustedDreams life isn't like in the movies is it? Sad

Thanks for the new thread, will go pop in there.

BustedDreams · 29/09/2019 08:12

Ouch @fallfallfall Flowers

@MrsJonesAndMe I agree life isn’t like in the films. On paper me and oh would appear to have a charmed life (we are very blessed in so much we don’t have money worries, but that could change) but in the last couple of years we have lost nearly all our family due to sudden deaths. People in your life are so precious. Hold them close.

cheesenpickles · 29/09/2019 09:42

Weight has gone up a lb or so but I did a few weigh ins using my scales and it looks like my fat percentage has come down and the clothes I was wearing yesterday felt like they absolutely swamped me. So I'll take that.

FiveShelties · 29/09/2019 09:52

@BustedDreams I will be in Lancashire and it looks like I may see a little rainGrin

BustedDreams · 29/09/2019 10:49

@FiveShelties you'll be about 100 miles from where we are. You’ll be on the West and we are in the East. Are you near the coast? Don’t forget your galoshes and brolly Grin Have a lovely time no matter the weather!

@BustedDreams so sorry to hear about your tough time. Flowers I hope you have (metaphorical) sunshine in the midst of it!

@fallfallfall that sounds really painful. I hope your new name is seasonal rather than related to your experience? I spent 4 hours in A&E on Wednesday with my ankle, it’s just a sprain but blimey it’s painful.

Hope everyone is doing ok. Welcome to these shores @FiveShelties and enjoy the British weather. I believe there’s the edge of a hurricane on its way?... Shock

The upside to a badly sprained ankle is the inability to visit the canteen. I am another 2lb down this weekend.

SunshineCake · 29/09/2019 17:04

@BustedDreams - thank you. The goodbye went okay once ds remember to actually say goodbye Grin. I messaged him today to say it has been so many days so time he came home now. It's dawning on me it really is a new way of doing things and I have just the two children here at the moment. DS has Skyped us today which was lovely to see him and he's said he might come home and surprise us. Lovely.

With regards to difficult times and no family. Check. Always here to listen should you need it Flowers.

Well done on the loss DrDiva. I've been the same since Tuesday I think, maybe half a pound down, but I'm so amazed that I haven't beaten myself up about eating for ages. Generally eating when hungry and not by the clock and for the first time in years I am recognising when I am hungry. I had lost that ability after doing the 5:2.h

fallfallfall ouch, poor you. I e jarred my back again today and it makes me so cross as I am not patient when a patient. Internally, I mean. I'm fine with everyone else.

BustedDreams · 29/09/2019 18:00

Thank you @DrDiva & @SunshineCake. Yes difficult times but trying to stay positive. When we are at our most vulnerable the current situation is very hard to deal with. But in spite of that I’m not eating my feelings.

Good loss you had there @DrDiva but sorry to hear about your ankle.

Sounds like you’ve turned another corner @SunshineCake 🏅🌟You’re doing great!

i earned my september apple watch challenge :)
still potential for a perfect month of exercise (hilly walks), calories burned per day, and standing hourly.
although weight loss unlikely (and with a cast on impossible to measure).
dr, 4 hours is long. i hope the ankle feels a bit better each day.
thank you busted for the oct link! i hope today is uneventful.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 29/09/2019 18:29

Evening all.

Been AWOL for a week, and it's been bloody fantastic. Aiming for a perfect five days before next weigh in on Saturday but not overly fussed what the scales say on that particular weigh in.

I am so. So. So. Happy. Losing weight in a steady healthy way and living my life.

I'm going to go back and read over the week I missed. Hope we've all had a great weekend. 😊

FiveShelties · 29/09/2019 22:16

@BustedDreams - I have just been looking at the weather and it does look a little grim - there is flooding quite close so hoping for bright sunshine for Wednesday. Nearest coast would be Southport, for a rare glimpse of the sea!.

@DrDiva hope your ankle is feeling a bit better, so painful. Well done for losing weight with an injury. I hope the hurricane finds somewhere else to go and is well away from Manchester - a long long way away from the airportGrin

BustedDreams · 30/09/2019 09:11

Good morning lovelies

I’m pleased to report that the scales are down. Not at my lowest but happy enough at starting October 142 lbs (or lower). Home made vegetable soup for lunch and chicken, veg & salad later. Plenty of water, 1 coffee with cream, white tea.

@fallfallfall that’s great news and motivation. May I ask do you need a contract to run an Apple Watch or does it work via your phone contract?

@WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa hope you had a great time and welcome home.

@FiveShelties I hope it doesn’t dampen your spirits too much! When do you arrive?

Right I’m right on it today, batch making soup and tomato base sauces. I know I’m blessed to now be retired and try to make the most of my time to make my family healthy nutritious foods. Working ladies are super hero’s in my book juggling everything!

Last day of September so I want to make it count and start October in a winning/positive frame of mind. Have a great day!
