Lose 7lbs in July

Anyone else want to? I’d love some company.

I’ve been yoyoing the same 7lb for a while. I’d like it gone for good and then some.

I base my food intake around low carb, moderate fat & moderate protein. Think Mediterranean diet. I do watch my calorie intake too. I have the occasional tipple of alcohol. I generally don’t have processed foods and make meals from scratch. Although sometimes life gets in the way and needs must.

How do you intend to lose?

Any tips you’d like to share?

My tips are drink plenty of water and be mindful of portion sizes.

My husband is struggling a bit at the moment as he keeps comparing my shifts on the scales to his which is really not feasible. He's a lot closer to a healthy weight range than I am plus taller and bigger built/more muscular, so he's losing at an ok rate but not as fast as me. Keep having to remind him that I'm carrying a lot more fat than him and I'm shifting the stored fat from finishing breastfeeding as well.

pookypup · 19/07/2019 07:01

Morning- a Friday weigh in at 68.4 from me, which I’m pleased with - a better week, but need to power through those weekend temptations!

cheesenpickles · 19/07/2019 07:24

1.4lb off for me this morning. Makes 8.8lb for July so far and 25.5lb since I started intermittent fasting and keto at the beginning of June. Smile

WhatALearningCurve · 19/07/2019 07:56

12st 7 1/2 so 1.5lb down so far this week.

I'm on track to have lost a stone this month and it feels so close but so far.

I'm always a bit in denial about my size so I don't always buy clothes that fit me, so I think it'll be once I drop below 12 that I have the "OMG i need new clothes" moment but I'm very excited for that.

I've also decided I'm not going to let my holiday derail me. Especially as I'm going to America so I am going to take my scales in my suitcase. I know that seems extreme but I just know how much damage I could do to myself in 2 weeks and it doesn't feel worth it

butterwithtoast · 19/07/2019 08:03

I'm down another couple of pounds thus week, so -8lbs in total. So pleased to have made the target already! Going to keep going and expect things to slow down as I lose the extra pregnancy pounds. Still hoping to average out at -7lbs/month to lose 3 stone in 6 months. Feeling positive!

Jollyholibobs · 19/07/2019 08:30

Off on holiday today 8.8 lbs lighter than at the start of July.
Thanks for the support and inspiration on this thread.

Good luck for the rest of the month everyone.

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 19/07/2019 12:53

Have a fabulous time @Jollyholibobs !!

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 19/07/2019 12:54

8.8lbs is amazing Star

cheesenpickles · 19/07/2019 14:15

@Jollyholibobs haha, we're weight loss twins Grin

Jollyholibobs · 19/07/2019 20:42

Haha @cheesenpickles yes I had to look at your post twice as I thought for a minute it was mine.

Sat in an airport lounge now with lots of food available but I have had what I want am no longer hungry and am aware that at other times I easily could have just eaten everything. Did have half a slice of lemon drizzle cake though.

cheesenpickles · 19/07/2019 20:54

Oooh! Enjoy your holiday. I could do with one for sure Smile

cheesenpickles · 20/07/2019 08:03

0.6lbs off this morning. Absolutely shocked at the rate it's coming down but guess that just shows how poorly I was eating beforehand. Blush

Foreverlexicon · 20/07/2019 08:19

I’ve stayed the same this week which is frustrating.
Last night went a bit wrong and I think I’m a bit bloated so I’m blaming that but it’s frustrating!

I checked my measurements though and I’ve lost 2 inches from my stomach and my waist and 1.5 from my bum and thighs since starting so definitely progressing - just need to plug on!

WhatALearningCurve · 20/07/2019 10:55

12 st 6 3/4 this morning.

I went massively off the wagon yesterday so I'm happy it doesn't seem to be showing. I've slept really badly with the baby the last few nights and I think the extra calories were genuinely being used to keep me awake.

I'm so close to the 1 stone in July mark. Going to go for a long walk soon with the baby and be careful of what I eat today. I'm determined to achieve this

LosingLola · 20/07/2019 11:43

Lost 1lb this week! I'm now so close to losing 7 stone that I think I'll cry if I don't get it next week.

cheesenpickles · 21/07/2019 05:57

Up 0.4lbs this morning. I ate quite late though and, although within my calories, quite a lot. Hopefully just a blip.

Sharpkat · 21/07/2019 06:55

Morning all

Have not had a good week. My knees have been so sore and my mental health has taken a battering so I have hardly even left my bed.

Am 72.8kg this morning so 5.2kg down from the start of the month and 17.6kg down since 1 April. At least that has not put me into a depression.

Stay strong. I know Sundays are hard.

WhatALearningCurve · 21/07/2019 09:35

12 6 1/4 this morning. So only 0.5lb since yesterday but I'm still very happy with it as I've definitely been less strict with myself the last few days

cheesenpickles · 21/07/2019 09:58

I weighed again and it's now only 0.1lb up. Might have to recalibrate my scales I think. The cleaners always prop them up when they come so think that might have screwed them up a touch (any excuse Grin).

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 21/07/2019 14:08

What’s the difference between net and total calories on mfp? I don’t understand!

Haven't tracked today and definitely eaten a lot more than I should have done. My prediction for tomorrow is that I'll have gained from today but lost overall from the start of the week. So if that is the case I'm going to try and stay positive because I've still come a long way

cheesenpickles · 21/07/2019 19:59

@WhatALearningCurve line under it. Tomorrow is a new day. Everybody has off days for sure. I've got an event this week that is 100% totally and utterly off plan and I'm prepared to take a hit on it knowing it'll just be one day. Smile Weekends are the hardest anyway.

FiveShelties · 22/07/2019 03:01

Monday weigh in and I am 0.4 pounds down, that makes 6.4 pounds down for July. So I want to lose another 0.6 this week and that will give me the seven pounds. Of course I would be delighted to lose more than 0.6 this week Grin

I also find the week-ends worse - from Friday night to Sunday night are much heavier on the wine, Wine and that seems to lead to much poorer food choices.

Have an excellent week everyone.

FiveShelties · 22/07/2019 03:03

@Jollyholibobs huge congratulations and have a fantastic holiday. Enjoy every minute.

chutneypig · 22/07/2019 05:09

I’m 0.6kg down from the start of the month. If you’d told me that at the start I’d have been very happy but I was certainly expecting to have a further loss this week, which hasn’t happened. I’m so glad to see your fantastic losses coming through.

This thread is fabulous for making me think more about my deficit and handling it. I haven’t adjusted my calories down since I’ve lost weight this year and I think that’s not helping. Aiming for 1500 this week but I will top up a bit on long run days. I’m averaging 12000 steps a day, so that’s going ok.

@MikeHannigansStripyShirt I’ve no idea! Sorry not much help but my net and totals are different but only subtly. It’s a view I’m going to be studying more the next few weeks.
