Lose 7lbs in July

Anyone else want to? I’d love some company.

I’ve been yoyoing the same 7lb for a while. I’d like it gone for good and then some.

I base my food intake around low carb, moderate fat & moderate protein. Think Mediterranean diet. I do watch my calorie intake too. I have the occasional tipple of alcohol. I generally don’t have processed foods and make meals from scratch. Although sometimes life gets in the way and needs must.

How do you intend to lose?

Any tips you’d like to share?

My tips are drink plenty of water and be mindful of portion sizes.

Good morning you lovely lot. Can’t weight myself as away.

Food wise has been mainly good with a few ‘oups’ moments thrown in.

My exercise has increased as I’ve generally been more active and on the go.

Hoping you all have great results!

Morning lovelies,

Morning weigh in, down to 68.8kg which is a slightly disappointing 0.2 loss this week. I have slipped by not logging my food properly so knew it wouldn’t be quite so good this time.

New week, new start though - determined to be better and keep it up. Drawing inspiration for you guys.

Have a lovely Monday Smile

cheesenpickles · 15/07/2019 07:56

Scales have t budged since Saturday but I'm considering that a win all things considered!

Sharpkat · 15/07/2019 07:58

Morning all

I am 74.3kg this morning so 3.7kg down this month so far. My initial target was 70kg so I am well on my way. 16.1kg down since 1 April so I start week 16 at 16kg down.

Am amazed as gave myself a day off walking yesterday. Normally I try and do 50k steps (I don't work) and let myself sit on the sofa and drink wine all day and ate a magnum.

We can all do this. Half way through the month let's crack this!

Just under 2 weeks now until I go on holiday and I'd love to have lost a stone by then which now feels achievable. I also don't want the holiday to completely derail me. We're going to America so need to watch out for the portion sizes but we're going to Disney so I'm hoping all the walking round will counteract!

Sharpkat · 15/07/2019 08:26

Well done @WhatALearningCurve that is tremendous progress and Disney is clearly a massive incentive!

Foreverlexicon · 15/07/2019 08:36

Sounds like overall we’ve done a good job of surviving the weekend!

My week hasn’t gotten to the best start; couldn’t sleep for the life of me last night and ended up eating a wrap and some crisps but hey ho.

As a result I decided not to get up to ride before work as I didn’t want to get up at 5 when I didn’t fall asleep until after midnight! Am shattered, hoping I can power through and ride tonight but we will see.

Meals today will be;
Breakfast - weetabix with dried fruit and nuts
Lunch - bean and avocado wrap and crisps
Dinner - bacon, leak and mushroom pasta
Desert - chocolate mousse
Couple of bits of fruit for snacks.

And an early night!

Sharpkat · 15/07/2019 08:39

@Foreverlexicon sleep is my nemesis as well. It is just so tough when you are exhausted. You can do this!

MikeHannigansStripyShirt · 15/07/2019 09:10

Wow excellent progress here!!

I am ......drumroll please...... down...

0.2lb

Still, progress is progress eh?! And period finally started this morning so hopefully I’ll start to see some proper moment!

Food planned and inputed into mfp. 1013 cals.

Keep on keeping on everyone!

Chickenitalia · 15/07/2019 11:02

1.5lbs off for me this week, happy with that!
Have stayed under the 1200 daily limit every day which is also good.
Was at work all weekend so things were very controlled for me, which is how I like it, don’t get proper breaks as such so never eat that much.
No alcohol still 😁
I was mighty cross with dh on Saturday night tho, he’d gone shopping with the kids and come home with wine, cider, donuts, crisps, dips, and stuff to make cakes with the kids too! Seriously! Then sat there next to me stuffing his face all evening and wondered why I was a bit off with him and went to bed early.
The kids lunchboxes today are most definitely not ‘school-approved’ but it’s the last week of term and I give not one shiny shite.
I am proud of my resolve however.

Good work everyone, onto week 3! Bring it on!

Thismummyruns · 15/07/2019 12:06

Well it looks like I won't get a sniff at 7lbs for July Sad

A loss of 1.5lbs this week taking my total for July so far at 3lbs. I was really hoping for 2lbs per week. My own stupid fault for eating those Singapore noodles!!

Wenchelda · 15/07/2019 17:10

11st 1.5lbs this morning so 1lb down on last weeks official weigh day but nothing additional to what I was when I did a sneaky mid-week weigh in. However that's 3lb off since start of July so I'm happy that things are heading in the right direction. I would love to get below 11st by next Monday

Steala · 15/07/2019 20:22

2.4 loss for me - 5.4 total. Obviously, that's not bad but I've been brutal and was hoping for more.

Thismummyruns · 15/07/2019 20:34

Can someone help a girl out?
I've just weighed myself before having dinner and I weigh 2lbs less than I did this morning?
I'm so confused. I have done a bit of a fast day today but have eaten! What on earth!!?

FiveShelties · 16/07/2019 04:05

Well done everyone - such fantastic results.

@Thismummyruns - I think weight fluctuates all the time. Generally less in the morning, but would be fantastic if it went down as we ate over the day - I would be a complete dieting successGrin. I usually weigh first thing in the morning but even then have weird swings both up and down.

Foreverlexicon · 16/07/2019 05:55

Good day yesterday and managed to ride the horse and had a good session.

Today’s meals;
Breakfast - overnight oats with berries and walnut
Lunch - wrap with avocado, white beans, salad and a slice of bacon. Crisps.
Snack - pear
Dinner - breaded risotto balls, few new potatoes and veg
Snack - choc mousse

More or less 1500, I’m happy with that.

@Thismummyruns I doubt I’ll get 7lb this month either, I’m only down 2.5lb but try not to be despondent, as long as we keep going! It’s a marathon not a sprint.

@Steala that’s a great loss! It’s frustrating when the scales don’t show what we hoped but 5.5lb down in 2 weeks is fantastic!

chutneypig · 16/07/2019 06:29

Yesterday was a good day, 1630 calories and 14000 steps, good macro balance too.

Today’s plan and for the next few days:

Breakfast - Huel shake
Lunch - grain salad, oatcakes, raspberries and pretzels
Dinner - chicken veg and crisps
Snacks - skyr and Huel bar

I’m about to head out for a run so will have a crumpet too when I get back otherwise I’ll have a massive crash later.

Jollyholibobs · 16/07/2019 07:01

Good morning all.

Well done everyone.

There are few on here starting week 3 disappointed with pretty good losses for two weeks. You’ve done really well. Celebrate your success. Please don’t be disappointed.

Just to put a big loss in context I have lost a lot in two weeks but I have only lost mostly what I put on in the last two weeks of June which were a bit crazy. So if you are on a sensible long term weight loss plan don’t compare yourself to others look at your long term goal and the 7lbs in July or part of 7lbs is a step along the way. And we are only half way through July.

Extra low cal day yesterday finished on 825.
Had porridge for breakfast, spelt pasta and veg ragu with spinach for lunch, miso soup with an egg poached in it and crated courgette for dinner. 0% Greek yoghurt and a apple. And I left the milk out of my tea. Gym session in the evening.
Scales down 0.6 lbs this morning.

Have a great day everyone.

cheesenpickles · 16/07/2019 07:13

Hopped on the scales and I'm down 1.4lbs. It is however TOTM so I'm wondering if that stalled me slightly. That's 6.6lbs for July so far. Smile Really happy with that.

WhatALearningCurve · 16/07/2019 08:18

Eugh. Half a pound heavier this morning. Going to try extra hard today and hopefully see a bit of a positive downward movement tomorrow

cheesenpickles · 16/07/2019 08:31

Quick question. When people have their totm obviously there's a bit of weight gain and water retesting. Does this tend to come during or after it's finished?

cheesenpickles · 16/07/2019 08:32

*come off even

runningtogetskinny · 16/07/2019 08:38

Started on 7th after my holiday, I've cycled to work and back 3 times, done yoga and been out for a few runs. I've also been very strict with calories and only had a glass of wine twice - it's paid off, got weighed this morning and was 142.6 down 6 pounds! Very happy with that, 9 to go and I'll be where I want to be Smile

Lucked · 16/07/2019 13:22

I am 2lbs down this evening so 5lbs off in July so far.

Want to achieve another 2lbs this week so that I get below 12st. Fingers crossed.

Foreverlexicon · 17/07/2019 04:56

Morning all
Very early start for me as riding before work today.

Just checking in - my meals are;
Breakfast - wrap with egg, sausage, mushroom and a bit of mayo. 2 satsumas
Lunch - couscous with halloumi and veg
Snack - 2 doughnut peaches
Dinner - bacon, leek and cheese pasta and salad
Pud - choc mousse

About 1600 I think. I’m not tracking too carefully this week - I made a meal plan at the weekend and worked out the calories then. As long as I stick to it then I don’t need to think too much which is nice!
