Reporting in. Aiming to lose a half stone by low carbing and exercise.

londonloves · 22/04/2019 06:58

Hi folks, I'm in. Going on holiday in a month and would love to hit my healthy BMI weight which is currently 11lb away (probably really 9lb, am bloated this morning from too much wine last night!)
I've lost a stone since Christmas so doing well but have let things slide diet wise over the holidays and been lazy with exercise due to being tired.

Slippershoes · 22/04/2019 07:11

I'm 11st5 I'm really struggling with this for some reason right now but ideally aiming for 10st7 by July.
I do mfp and 10,000+ steps a day. Am going to start 30 day shred again this week.

PCBananaHammock · 22/04/2019 07:23

I'm in! Really struggling to lose at the mo... have gone from 12st 6 to 11st 9 in two months, but now been 11st 9 for three weeks and am so frustrated. I'm sticking to slimming world and am not cheating so I really don't understand! I'm planning on upping my exercise levels over the next month to hopefully kick start again. Good luck everyone!

WhoAteMyNuts · 22/04/2019 07:29

Been lurking on this board.

Lost 6.5kg and need to lose another 5kg. Not following any diet but trying to make better choices most of the time. I have also cut down alcohol a lot and drinking AF which helps the calories.

PCBannanaHammock I'm stuck at 65kg but know that if I keep going I will get a 'whoosh' weight loss eventually so hang in there.

Stiffasaboard · 22/04/2019 07:30

Follow the new thread! Will be much easier to track on a new one as it’s a new start!!

After eating crap again for the past few days, i weighed in this morning at 10st 4Blush Shocking, i was so close to 9st 7 a few weeks ago and i ruined it.
Going to buy digital scales instead, so i fear im actually heavier than the 10st 4. I think ill need more than half a stone off now, though!

Stiffasaboard · 22/04/2019 07:32

Sorry this is the new thread BlushBlush

Am so determined today.
Exercise is something I do tonnes of anyway so it’s all about the evening munchies for me.

I have to find a way to stop the constant
Grazing in the evening- I convince myself I’m still hungry but I’m not really and I undo all the good work of the day.

Have tried to eat very little in the day to offset the evening and lost weight that way but it’s not sustainable and doesn’t get the to the root of the issue.

I might look at hypnotherapy?

Hello! Thanks for the new thread @stiffasaboard, and great to see lots of people here already.

I'm weighing in this morning at 9 stone 8... Not as bad as I feared. I'm aiming for 9 stone 2, I'm short so that would put me at a bmi of 22.

My plan is to follow no-s, cut out the sweet stuff and alcohol, cut down on the wheat, keep going with the exercise and up the water.

We can totally do this 💪

keiratwiceknightly · 22/04/2019 08:01

I'm in. Big holiday planned to Thailand this summer and I'd like to be a little slimmer for that.
Currently 11st9, would like to lose a stone but half will do for starters!

I'm not good at sticking to diets so for me it will be portion control and exercise- mostly yoga and walking but some running too.

Kneehighinshit · 22/04/2019 08:04

Yes, this is what I need!

I am going to...
-Stop snacking out of boredom
-Try and do something active everyday (short run/ workout on YouTube/yoga)
-Make sure I take lunch into work

Been very lucky and never really worried about my weight before. I've always been quite active but lifestyle changes (work) have created a bit of a problem in terms of more snacking and less moving.

Completely agree stiff that you can't offset the evening munchies by eating less during the day- my body cannot cope with that. I'm going to clean my teeth with the kids at 7pm to see if that helps me avoid evening nibbles!

londonloves · 22/04/2019 08:05

@Stiffasaboard could you just not buy the stuff you graze on? I've basically stopped buying anything "fun" like biscuits, chocolate and crisps. So after dinner there just isn't anything to eat!

Kneehighinshit · 22/04/2019 08:10

London totally agree, strict meal planning and shopping lists help so much with budgeting and weight loss!

Also going to use 30 day shred slipper did it years ago with great results.

londonloves · 22/04/2019 08:20

We are dramatically reducing our meat consumption which seems to be helping too. I've just "meal planned" when I'm allowed wine for the next month in my diary! 3 days this week then 2 per week for next three weeks, and a lot less in one go than I've been having the last two weeks. It's definitely my downfall.

FritataPatate · 22/04/2019 08:34

Right: holiday's over (well, it will be after a cheeky glass of wine tonight); back to work tomorrow, so I'm in!
No cakes, biscuits, crisps.
Low carb.
No alcohol during week.
More water.
Treats: one square of dark choc or handful of nuts per day.
Gym at least twice a week.
11, 000 steps per day.
I want to get back to 60 kilos!

Stiffasaboard · 22/04/2019 08:58

@london I don’t snack on bad stuff per se- just anything I can get my hands on!

Frozen fruit, leftover bits, yoghurts....I’ve even been known to supposedly get organised and make American pancake mix ready for breakfast the next day....just so I can eat it raw Blush.
It’s a terrible habit.

I might join the teeth cleaning thing actually but it’s removing myself from the kitchen that’s hard. I don’t watch telly do I tend to hang out in the kitchen in the evening and then I graze. I’ll have to make that effort to leave and then it will be easier.

Peppermint tea is quite a good appetite suppressant post dinner I find

WhenIsTheEasyBit · 22/04/2019 09:45

5'6" and 11st 10. Recently put half stone back on and it's all middle. Dress shopping last week was depressing. Am good during the day then overeat at dinner and have fallen into bowl of cereal before bed habit.

Going to try the brushing teeth thing tonight- only water after dinner.

WhoAteMyNuts · 22/04/2019 09:53

I don't have snacky food in the house anymore so if I want it I have to physically go and get it. I find I am often too lazy to go out so that helps.

I have also booked a personal shopper experience at John Lewis for a few months time and am using a new wardrobe as my reward for eating healthier.

My lack of motivation is exercise. I can't be bothered with it Sad

Thisimmortalcurl · 22/04/2019 10:33

Morning, cheers for the new thread
Was working all weekend , didn’t actually do that badly food wise and walked 21,678 steps !!!
However I’ve been on and off having great days and shit day’s food wise as per
Current weigh in 8 stone 9 .. annoying as I was down to 8 stone 6 a couple of weeks ago.
I’m doing a roast today .. I’m going to really try to eat the chicken with loads of veg instead of having yet another fuck it day .
My aim is to be 8 stone 4 by the 14 May .. which is only 23 days away so prob unlikely but if I got back to 8 stone 6 that would do .

Caggie09 · 22/04/2019 15:55

Soo i got the digital scales and im 10st 8, 1/4. So my other scales are 4lbs out. I need about 2 stone off now😂

Furkle · 22/04/2019 18:43

Hiya can I join? I'm rubbish on my own so really need to find somewhere to keep motivated and on track.

Going to weigh myself in the morning and will be brave and post it too so I can't cheat Grin

waistaway · 22/04/2019 20:50

I was on the other thread. 10st 2lb last Monday but I bet I'm heavier today! I've been out all weekend so had many, many drinks and treats. I'm going to set a goal of 1lb per week for the 7 next weeks. 10,000 steps and not eating in the evening or snacking was working for me on the last thread so I'm going to stick with that, but also add crunches and planks every single day.

Eattothebeat · 22/04/2019 20:56

Good to see so many people on here both from the old thread and new starters too.
Planning to start again in the morning after a very greedy few days although I'm sure it will be hard to get back into it as I'll still be craving all the junk food I've been eating. Feeling determined though so will be checking in here daily to stay motivated.

Squeezle · 22/04/2019 21:19

Hi. First time attempting anything like this, but need the online presence to give me a kick in the right direction. Don't know how much I weigh, will check tomorrow, but its too much whatever the number is.
Going to try 'No S', more sensible choices, and more exercise.
