New thread!
Right peeps we are starting again tomorrow.
Can post a starting weight if you want and how you plan to achieve this feat.

Progress reports and motivation daily ideally but post when you can.

We got this.

@Lady yup me too
I’ve always maintained a good weight by doing loads of exercise and being really active in general
I run about 20-40 miles a week plus cycle and cross train and do weights and walk loads - often 30-40k steps a day

And yet last two years it’s just crept up and up without me changing anything

And it’s so so hard to get used to tiny volumes of food when I’ve always eaten well- good nutritious foods but I guess big portions that even with the activity I just can no longer sustain.

The change from 42-47 has been phenomenal. Like my metabolism has just crashed.
And my periods are still regular so I’m honestly feeling like the battle will become nigh on impossible in the next ten years.

I’m also full of cellulite which I wasn’t before. Angry

Oh god, that's utterly depressing! I'm 40 so I'm heading your way. I've only just really got rid of the baby weight in the last couple of years (youngest is nearly 5 Blush).

I've lost all the weight through changing my habits though (both food and exercise), rather than dieting per se, so hopefully that's a positive....

Just need to get rid of these last few pesky lb now.

Suenahmi · 25/04/2019 07:00

I'm mid 40s and definitely finding it harder to maintain my weight. I exercise 5 days a week, a minimum of a 2.5 mile run, up to a 10 mile run. So im not a couch potato despite my body jncreasngly resemblinga potato on legs.

I thought I had eaten well for the last two days but I've gained! Now 10st 10. I have decided to start tracking calories..any recomendation on what to use? I have headd good things about Noom.

Charley50 · 25/04/2019 07:08

Maybe a weekly all night rave and MDMA is the answer? Grin

WhoAteMyNuts · 25/04/2019 07:25

Yes the bloody 40s defintely are harder. I am having to really watch what I am eating but determined not to be overweight when I hit 50.

The only good thing is that even small amounts of alcohol makes me feel rubbish now so cutting that out has helped the waistline.

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 25/04/2019 08:22

Charley50 I did think of resorting to a dab of wizz each evening when I get in from work as that is my danger time Grin

LadyBrienneofTarth · 25/04/2019 09:12

@WhoAteMyNuts I am the same with alcohol - even one glass now makes me feel horrible

@Suenahmi nothing worked for me (and I tried for a long time) until I did 3 things - 1. Cut my calories to doctor recommended level 2. Track everything in mfp and 3. Use macros (50% protein/30% fat/20% carb) ..... it's early days for me but at least I'm now going in right direction (7 lbs down so far)

My experience with noom wasn't great but it may well be good for a different type of person - I was too impatient for all the navel gazing contemplation

chillychicken · 25/04/2019 10:46

We ended up having fish & chips last night after a stressful day, but feeling motivated this morning.
I've had a protein shake and soreen bar for breakfast, have high protein bagels with ham, salad and low fat cream cheese for lunch and either chilli or chicken & chorizo ragu with pasta for dinner.

I've brought one of the many easter eggs in to work today. I don't plan on eating it but it being there means I'm not thinking "I wish I had a treat with me".

Gym tomorrow morning and my PT will weigh me, I might ask him not to this week as an increase always leaves me feeling a bit crap.

Wow @LadyBrienneofTarth how are you hitting the 50% protein target? I'm set at 45% carb, 35% protein and 20% fat and struggle to hit the protein target (123g) a day!

Thisimmortalcurl · 25/04/2019 14:01

I’m 41 , it is def much harder to get rid of the pounds . I have to cal count to under 1000 to get them shifting and they absolutely love to jump up in ridiculous numbers when I have some days off ( which could be almost binge like but still!)
1 lb off this morning so 4/5 till target but it will be slow ..
I’m eating lentil soup quite a lot as I made a big batch. It’s very think and filling but I’m not really sure about the cal content as it varies so much on mfp.

AwdBovril · 25/04/2019 16:02

I'd like to join the thread if I'm not too late?
I'm late 30s, 5'3", 10st 5lb, & disabled due to an intermittent pain condition that also causes weakness & difficulty with balance etc. Am stuck in bed today. I would like to get back down to my pre-pregnancy weight of 8st7lb, although I would be happy if I can get below 9st.
I like salad & all the "healthy" food, unfortunately I also have a massive weakness for salty snacks & chocolate.

I have bought some plain whey protein powder because some days I just don't get enough protein & I am a terrible evening snacker, I plan to add it to porridge, yoghurt etc. I might do shakes as well, depending how it tastes.

Holibobsing · 25/04/2019 16:18

Time of month definitely affects me too I retain a lot of water in thisiffasaboard . I try to remember to drink a lot more (which feels like it adds to the bloat). I feel and weigh so much lighter on day 2. Well my scales said 2 lb lighter this morning and in my ecstaticness I've now forgotten if it was definite Grin I ain't getting on the bleeding things now as I fluctuate a pound or two throughout the day and that would be worse. So tomorrow morning I need to be 12.9 .Any less most welcome.

Holibobsing · 25/04/2019 16:21

I'd meant to put, I retain a lot of water weight the week before , stiffasaboard

LadyBrienneofTarth · 25/04/2019 17:29

@chillychicken it's hard but I have a vanilla protein shake for breakfast, a can of tuna for snack, a can of sardines at lunch along with a protein pudding of some sort, and then grilled chicken or fish or beef with salad for dinner

@AwdBovril I've been eating salted seaweed for snacks especially mid afternoon - low in calories and once you get used to it not so bad and gives you a bit do the taste - tesco does them (I just googled) but I'm sure seaweed is available most places now

Forties are definitely harder - I used to be able to eat pretty much what I wanted but sadly those days are gone.
For the PP who wants to track calories apparently My Fitness Pal is good but I can't be bothered with it personally.

Another good day today - I'm allowing myself one treat a day so had a small bit of rocky road and when ds1 was offering me Easter egg I only took a teeny bit so that doesn't count, right?

I'm struggling with the late evening munchies after no carbs at dinner (big chicken salad tonight - fills me up at the time but not for long).

LadyBrienneofTarth · 25/04/2019 23:39

@mamaduckbone for after dinner I've been trying sparkling water in a tall glass with a splash of lime ... ok it's no cheesecake or cheese and crackers but it prevents me nibbling

Eattothebeat · 26/04/2019 06:27

How's everyone doing? I've had a busy week which has helped me stop snacking as it's been too full on to care much about food. I plan to try and get some exercise in over the weekend and to avoid drinking too much alcohol and then on Monday I'll be in the zone (hopefully) ready for a big push.

Suenahmi · 26/04/2019 06:45

I just weighed mysekf. 10st 6.8. So tbat would be a loss of 3 pounds since yesterday. That cannot be possible...i think my scales are broken.

Suenahmi · 26/04/2019 06:46

Mamaduckbone i am using the samsung health app on my phone. I tried MFP but i couldn't understand how it worked. I'm a bit of a dinosaur i think

WhoAteMyNuts · 26/04/2019 07:24

Daily weigh shows .5kg increase. I know it's just fluctuations but need to use that to remind myself not to pig out on stuff.

buenavides · 26/04/2019 07:34

I need to lose weight before June 26. hoping that I will be able to stop eating unhealthy food.

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 26/04/2019 07:52

12 stone 1lb this morning so 3lbs down. Delighted.

I've found a successful way to counteract my danger time. Bought these little sachets called Slim Sip in Home Bargains for 89p for 30. I have one with lots of water at 3pm as I leave work to pick kids up etc. It fills me up so I don't snack.when I get home and am making tea etc.

www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&client=ms-android-samsung&source=android-browser&q=slim+sip+reviews would recommend at 89p. Maybe not at £11.99 as here however.

Holibobsing · 26/04/2019 08:19

12.7 , so 4lb off in a week which is the most that's ever came off since I started in February. Average 1.5 pounds a week normally. Poss a lot of water retention , bit I'll take that! Clothes shopping this week had been a nightmare as in between sizes, so feeling so it's spurred me on and the loss feels like a prize for avoiding Easter chocolate. It had been EVERYWHERE.

At a wedding tomorrow with 3 course meal so I need to go much lower calories today. Also need to mind alcohol as I was due a blow out. Def water in between drinks as I'm too old to be hammered at a wedding!

beela · 26/04/2019 08:29

Well done @MenstruatorExtraordinaire and
@Holibobsing, great losses!

@WhoAteMyNuts same here, +0.4kg. Your post has reminded me not to be despondent about that though, thank you Smile

I definitely have a 4-5 day lag with my weight. I'll have a blow out, think I got away with it, and then it appears on the scales a few days later. So that gain is probably Easter!

Dc are back at school on Monday, plus we go on holiday in a month, so I'm ready for a big push too @eattothebeat

Holibobsing · 26/04/2019 09:03

Thanks beela. Kids going back really helps in staying focused. When I have a blip, I try to remember 6 glasses water per day- helps get back on track ; hydrating and flushing, but just generally feel heaps better anyways.

BlueSatsuma · 26/04/2019 09:22

10.7 stone
Want to get to about 9.10 or thereabouts.

Going to reduce alcohol to 3 nights a week
40 minute walk 4/5 times a week
Cut out crisps and chocolate, maybe a small kitkat or Jaffa cake if I must
Salads
The big thing for me is to cut out snacking
