New thread!
Right peeps we are starting again tomorrow.
Can post a starting weight if you want and how you plan to achieve this feat.

Progress reports and motivation daily ideally but post when you can.

We got this.

Welcome all

@beela I reckon you were positively restrained there!

Siffasaboard Id thought my scales was just in kilos and only realised two months later to press the pin Blush Had to keep googling weight converter ( which I swear undervalued poundsConfused. Seeing the pounds , my native language, go down motivating.

Stiffasaboard · 24/04/2019 07:44

@Holinobsing I changed mine to KGs when I hadn’t weighed for ages and knew I wouldn’t like the result! I thought I had a rough idea of the conversion but I’d got it wrong PLUS post Easter was more than I had been even in kgs so I decided to just face it!

At least with pounds the scales show results quicker than in kgs. Somehow losing a whole pound is better than a 0.something in kgs.

Am really hoping losing the period bloat will give me a kick start. I used to think it was rubbish but since weighing more often I can definitely see a couple of pounds up and down purely due to TOTM.
Does everyone else too?

Good day yesterday. Porridge and banana for breakfast, homemade veg and lentil soup and an orange for lunch, fish and salad for tea. Blueberries and raspberries as snack. Walk at lunch and body balance class in the evening.

Now just got to keep it up.

In-laws arrived back from holiday with Easter eggs for all. A Lindor Lindt one for me. My favourite. In the cupboard it went and hoping to forget it even exists.

Stiffasaboard · 24/04/2019 08:33

Everyone’s meals always sound great and I can do the healthy meals but it’s the stuff in between that lets me down.

How do you all avoid that? How hungry are you by the time you sit down for those set meals and are you full afterwards?

OP posts:
WhoAteMyNuts · 24/04/2019 08:37

I keep only sensible snack foods in for inbetween meals. I'm not following a diet, more like mindful eating which means I should eat if I are really hungry.

Steamed sweet corn on the cob, ryvita with cheese spread, smallest packet of chocolate buttons if I need a choc fix are my go to snacks at the moment.

WhoAteMyNuts · 24/04/2019 08:38

I also find a small snack means I am not ravenous by meal times so don't go overboard on portion sizes.

Charley50 · 24/04/2019 08:45

Hi I'm 5.3 and 58Kg, which is over 10st. I've always been between 8.5 and 9.5 so when I weighed myself it was a shock.
Want to get down to under 10st. I walk, do yoga and play tennis, but I think I'm going to have to do something else as well.
Don't have a sweet tooth, but will cut down on creamy sauces etc.

Stiffasaboard · 24/04/2019 08:58

I hope 58kg isn’t over ten stone else I’m in trouble!!

58kg is just over 9 stone @Charley50

Can I join? I've been doing WW since September and have lost 31lbs but need motivation to carry on! Lol

beela · 24/04/2019 09:09

@charley50 you are bang in between 8.5 and 9.5 at 58kg!

I'm the same height as you and that is my target.

Thisimmortalcurl · 24/04/2019 09:10

Morning especially to all the new posters.
Yesterday was an okay day although I did have 3 large G&T’s at night .
Weight the same .
Tomorrow is the start of 3 13 hour shifts in a row which can be my downfall ... tiredness chucks my self control right out the window . I can do it if I really focus though .
My next treat day will be the 1st /2nd of May . I’m going to a concert and staying in a hotel so that will be a meal and night and my absolute fav the breakfast in the morning .. plus the wine!
Trying to make that my focus currently

NotMyUsualTopBilling · 24/04/2019 09:21

Morning all, had a good day yesterday. Think the sun definitely helps!

I'm fine being organised for breakfast and lunch as I work 9.30-2.30 so don't snack but I find when I get home I'm in the danger zone especially when I'm cooking dinner.

I try to snack on fruit, carrot sticks, tea with a sweetener helps sometimes or slices of ham and picked onions if I feel reachin for the snack box.

Today's meal plan:
B: Fromage frais, strawberries, banana & sprinkle of oats.
L: Tomato, basil and mozzarella couscous & side salad
D: Sausage casserole, mash, veg

Quavers

I'm weighing daily just now but recoding weekly, noticing some wild fluctuations. Anyone else noticing this?

I'm 5.25lbs down this morning :/

Charley50 · 24/04/2019 09:24

Oh sorry that's my DS weight! I am 65kg (or hopefully a little less as been very active over the hols..) BlushBlush

WhoAteMyNuts · 24/04/2019 09:25

I weight daily and see fluctuations, around 1kg. I tend to only take weights that I see the same two days in a row.

NotMyUsualTopBilling · 24/04/2019 12:42

I don't normally weigh daily but have been having a lot of bloatedness (is that even a word?!) so I'm trying to keep an eye on that.

It's quite extreme and now in wondering if it's my scales, they're new and I always weigh in the same place at the same time wearing my PJs so controlled as it can be. For example on Friday I felt awful and my stomach hurt so I weighed myself at 12st 12lbs which I knew wasn't right. Yesterday I was 4lbs lighter and 3lbs lighter again today and I don't have the bloated feeling.

Bizarre!

chillychicken · 24/04/2019 14:00

Can I join?

I was 62kg at the start of the year (I'm 5ft 2) and got down to 59.1kg but after an excessive weekend, back up to 60.2 and now feeling very down as it took me so long to get below 60. BUT, AF is here and I'm hoping it's just bloat. I want to get to 55kg, but would be happy with 57kg by July 1st. It should be easily doable but I seem to really struggle to lose it and keep it off.

beela · 24/04/2019 14:48

Hello chilly, 60kg is a massive barrier for me too. I've managed to squeeze below it a couple of times but only briefly Sad I'm on 60.8 at the moment (hoping some is pre-AF bloat but I think it's mostly chocolate tbh)... We've been there once, we can do it again.

LadyBrienneofTarth · 24/04/2019 17:56

Morning all - traveling for work until Friday so can't weigh in until then -

trying to focus on getting my food to 50% protein 30% fat and 20% carbs - super hard when away and can't weigh any food portions -

also has 5 hour plane flight and that was hard too - must be better organized and take my own snacks so don't rely on crap airline food

Hotel ok but there's only so much salad you can eat - I did bring some packets of protein puddings and shakes so I can have those in a pinch

Anyone want to be my mfp friend ?

Stiffasaboard · 24/04/2019 19:43

Argh I just can’t seem to get my head in the right place
I’m bigger than I’ve been for 15 years and I just cannot get motivated

Ha

Yay, good to see so much support on here! Interesting to see the different approaches too. I was so pleased with myself managing a run yesterday evening, I don't usually have the energy but think the summer evenings help with the motivation. I'm shattered tonight though so planning an early start tomorrow to squeeze a workout in before I leave for work. If I mention it on here then I know I have to do it!!!!

How are you all avoiding the Easter eggs?? We don't have much in the house but I have this overwhelming desire to consume it all just so it's gone!

MenstruatorExtraordinaire · 24/04/2019 20:44

I cracked this evening with the Easter eggs I'm afraid. Only a slice and have now cleaned my teeth......

mamaduckbone · 24/04/2019 21:03

I succumbed to one staff room biscuit today but other than that I've been really good and resisted the buttered new potatoes that dh tormented me with at dinner. Just had chicken and salad 😇.

LadyBrienneofTarth · 24/04/2019 21:21

Not sure the ages of folks on here but I know personally that post children into my forties the weight just kept going up and especially around menopause it became so difficult to just maintain weight - it's like my body was rebelling by becoming a blimp - what was fine to maintain weight ten years ago now causes me to gain ... so to lose weight I have to eat much much much less than I thought - the doctor confirmed this -

to be specific I thought i would lose weight on 1200 calories a day but nope - doctor said I had to be at or below 1000 calories a day .... I'm getting use to it but it's been an adjustment

Humbling too - I thought I had all this under control

Clearly I knew nothing
