Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

Oh well, pride comes before a fall.... I got cold and therefore fell into the post work snacking trap.... Several mini eggs later... Blush

Whereareyouspot · 04/04/2019 18:54

@beela I see your mini eggs and raise you AN ENTIRE FRICKING EASTER EGG along with four weetabix and two slices of toast for tea.

Boo

Came in from work cold and hungry and with great plans to exercise then make an omlette. Doom. So pissed off with myself.

Eattothebeat · 04/04/2019 19:19

Oh dear spot and beela - never mind, back on the wagon and fresh start tomorrow!
In order to try to break into the 8 stone somethings I am going to bed early and skipping dinner (a bit like fasting I guess except I've obviously had a decent breakfast and lunch). I am finding that my body seems to be resisting going under 9 stone so I am trying this new tactic. I will keep you posted.

Thisimmortalcurl · 04/04/2019 19:33

Hey all , bloody Easter and all those eggs !
I do that sometimes Eat .. more go to bed early to avoid snacking but it does end up making your body have a fast .
8:8 this morning , back to my lowest on this thread ( and over the last few months )
Quite stressed today as a family member is having a huge op .. surgery for 12 hours so still in at the moment , I don’t eat much when worried so haven’t binged even though my period decided to arrive in the night .

beela · 04/04/2019 20:00

Oh goodness @immortal - how stressful for you Flowers. I hope it all goes well.

Eattothebeat · 05/04/2019 06:01

curl really hope the operation went well and all is ok.

In less important news I am still hovering at just a smidge over 9 stone. However my clothes are a lot looser and my stomach is flatter and I'm fitting into things I haven't fit into in ages so I think that maybe all the heavy weights I've been lifting for the last few weeks have caused me to add more muscle. Or maybe at 5'7" my body doesn't want to go any lower.

Anyway I have taken great inspiration from this article I read online - especially the before and after photos of the 14th woman on there - her after photos look amazing although she's exactly the same weight.

www.thisisinsider.com/photos-women-look-different-same-weight-2018-3

Eattothebeat · 05/04/2019 06:10

Actually all the women but particularly those from photos 10 to 14 have inspired me to keep lifting weights. I am going to celebrate being stronger with a lo-dough pizza at lunchtime!

beela · 05/04/2019 11:08

@eattothebeat wow, that's quite powerful, isn't it? Shows that although exercise can't compete with diet for losing weight (don't they say it's 20% exercise / 80% diet?) it can make such a huge difference to how you look. Whenever my dd asks why I am jumping around and sweating in front of the tv exercising I tell her it's to make me strong, as I don't want to put any ideas about dieting and weight loss into her head (she's only 4!).

Aaaaaand totally contradicting myself.... I'm back into the 50s, yay! 59.8kg this morning.

I'm out tonight, and we're having a takeaway tomorrow, so I might not stay there for very long but at least I know its possible Grin

Thisimmortalcurl · 05/04/2019 12:02

Thank @beela and @ Eattothebeat
Op took 14 hours .. imagine !! But he made it through and I’d now in HDU
As a consequence likely I weighed in at drumroll ... 8:7 , the lightest I have been this year 😁
@Eattothebeat , I didn’t realise you were 5ft7.. and I know that height/weight can come in odd numbers but what size are you now and what size weight is your aim?
Brilliant news on the 50,s @Beela , pleased for you .
I have a quite weekend then I’m having 7 female friends round on Monday for dinner and booze . I’m hoping I can edge another pound off before then but I can predict my loss at the moment even when I’m being really good.
I’m feeling much slimmer anyone and can’t wait on hopefully a few lbs to be back in my jeans .
Have a good day everyone on the thread .

Thisimmortalcurl · 05/04/2019 12:08

Ha ha .. I hadn’t read the weightlifting post , impressive . For some reason I usually wait until I’m quite near my target and then am more likely to do some squats and kickbacks etc , nothing major just 30 reps a day of 5 different excercise to try to tone my bum and thighs . My thighs are def my worse area , I should start it today . Thanks for that, inspiring .

Eattothebeat · 05/04/2019 15:56

beela yes I think weight is mainly about diet but your shape is more influenced by exercise. Anyway seeing that has motivated me to keep going. I had my lo-dough pizza and then I enjoyed it so much that I had a lo-dough chilli chicken quesadilla. Sorry to be a lo-dough bore but when you've been low carbing for as long as I have and pizza and tortillas are the forbidden fruit, they are like a bloody miracle. Apparently you can use them as naan bread too!
curl I am either an 8 or a 10 depending on the shop. Ideally I'd like to be about 8 stone 10 as that was my favourite weight however I didn't run or do weights back then so if I get to 8 stone 10 again I may be smaller than when I was 8 stone 10 before as muscle takes up less space than fat.

Thisimmortalcurl · 05/04/2019 16:14

That’s not much at all to either lose or tone then 4lb ? Same as me . You are very much inspirational with the amount of excercise you do .. I’m so so lazy , I do my 15.000 steps and that is it .
Enjoy the low do!

waistaway · 05/04/2019 22:05

I was 10st 3lb this morning so another lb down since Monday. This thread is definitely helping when I think of snacking in the evening because I'd rather post that I lost than have a snack.
I haven't done any exercise except 10,000 to 15,000 steps every day because I've been crazy busy at work this week but should have a more normal week next week so will try to do some weights as well.
I'm a total apple shape because I have good muscle tone on my legs and my arms are OK but my stomach is a disaster area. Some planks wouldn't go astray.

Eattothebeat · 06/04/2019 06:45

curl I find it hard to motivate myself some days so where possible I try to exercise with friends as it makes me more likely to do it although I try to get a few mins of HIIT in at home whenever I can.
waist you are going great guns and losing steadily. I'm an apple too and it's a hard shape to dress. I think pears are more fortunate as they can hide their shape with an a-line skirt or dress whereas big tummies are harder to hide. When I wear jeans I need my tops to fall at just the right length to disguise my tum.
Good luck today everyone - I have a lunch out with friends but also a run and a hike planned so all is not lost!

MorrisZapp · 06/04/2019 11:20

Is there a cardio I could do on the patch of carpet beside my bed? Preferably without jumping too much? What do other people do?

beela · 06/04/2019 20:30

Try Joe Wicks @morris. There's loads on YouTube... I think he's done some less jumpy ones that he says are suitable for hotel rooms as they make less noise Grin

Eattothebeat · 07/04/2019 08:10

morris you could use a kettle bell as it makes your workouts far more effective if you add in weights. Kettlebell squats, deadlifts etc are great. And as beela says there are loads of workouts you can find on youtube.

Hope everyone is doing well this weekend. We went out for a big meal last night (as well as going out for lunch) so food wise yesterday wasn't great although did tons of exercise so hopefully that's counteracted some of the damage.

Today I plan to be a bit better as the countdown to our holiday starts.......

MorrisZapp · 07/04/2019 11:01

Ok so the bad news is that while low noise, 'hotel room' workouts are plentiful on YouTube, they mainly consist of squats/planks /mountain climbers etc.

So it's a no from me :)

I'm thinking of getting a mini trampoline I can chuck under the bed. I just want to put my headphones on and leap about sweating until I've had enough.

I can sense DPs eyeroll already....

Thisimmortalcurl · 07/04/2019 11:05

Good morning , been on this thread for 40 days today and weighing in at 8/6 so that’s a 10lb loss with about 3lb to go. This week prob not the best way to lose via stress but today is a meal with booze and tomorrow I’m having 7 friends round and cooking .. I’ve went all out with the shopping / snack / booze / two different curries / puddings .. so I will no doubt do up in the next couple of days .
Hope you all have a good Sunday

Thisimmortalcurl · 07/04/2019 11:06

Weighted hula hoops are good if you have enough space Morris.

MorrisZapp · 07/04/2019 13:43

To my shame I've already given away one weighted hula hoop!! But you're right. Fuck it. I'm ordering another. This time it WILL NOT GATHER DUST.

Whereareyouspot · 07/04/2019 20:45

@thisimmortal aren’t you 5ft7?? Aiming for
8st2 seems very low. Do stay healthy won’t you.

I’m still gaining. Pretty much back to where I started and feel enormous.
Just loads of bad days with Mother’s day then didn’t get back in a good place and now am on holiday and it’s really hard with limited food choices where we are (being catered for in their home) plus can’t do all my usual exercise without being hugely rude to the people we are staying with.

Feeling a bit glum about my weight right now actually and like I’ll never actually get to the target weight.

Thisimmortalcurl · 07/04/2019 22:17

@whereareyouspot .. I’m 5 foot and a half so no worries , I think 7 stone 4 is the below bmi weight so I’m okay ., although I won’t go below 8 stone as it’s ageing
I’m on the prosecco tonight and really trying to resist the left over pizza and garlic bread in the kitchen .

Whereareyouspot · 08/04/2019 06:37

Ah sorry @curl I’m getting posters heights mixed up- sounds like you are spot on with your aims (and about to reach them too which is fantastic!)

I’m seeing this week as a right off- last night our hosts served lamb shanks with creamy mash and buttered greens and then tiramisu and cheeseboard.
I’m not a big meat eater so I was offered breaded fried halloumi.
If I try to avoid the carbs stuff like the bread or mash I’m starving as I can hardly keep asking for extra of the ok stuff and tbh I struggle with that much fat anyway so it’s all a bit stressful. Less exercise too.

I just have to eat to appetite and try to accept ill gain and get back on it next week but I’m pretty sure I’ll be back where I started and that feels really miserable

In addition we were talking about something else and someone else and a friend told me what 59kg is in stones so I feel even worse as i had kidded myself it was just under 9 and at 58 I was getting into 8.12 territory but now realise I had further to go than I thought!

Not turning into the most relaxing week away this one.

Caggie09 · 08/04/2019 07:31

Right im back on it today. I darent weigh myself this morning, so will when im home from work. Will be getting back on the shred tonight too! Ergh, you can really tell when your body is fueled on rubbish!
