Hi all... OK the sun is shining but the summer wardrobe just doesn't fit. I know that this is a temporary blip in the weather and it will rain next week but I would love to be a stone lighter by the time summer starts for real. I feel miserable - anyone want to join me. Starting tomorrow.

HBD @curl! That Chinese feast looks fabulous!

We have several meals out planned this weekend so need to focus

Another rubbish evening here back on the carbs big time bah.

waistaway · 29/03/2019 09:08

Still 10st5lb today so no loss since Monday. But my waist is now 32", down an inch in about 10 days. I measured it yesterday and again now after breakfast and 2 cups of tea so I think I really did lose an inch. I've been trying to do 10,000 steps a day and did over 15,000 Mon and Wed. Kind of disappointed in the scales though.

Emma362 · 29/03/2019 09:38

Slight name change, felt slightly exposed with my full name on here! And I'm not clever enough to come up with a witty, original name haha!
10st 3 (just!) on the scale this morning so I'm 1-2lbs down in two weeks, which I'm very happy with considering I've had more bad days than good. Been managing about 12k steps a day and even on my bad days I'm pigging out less. I'll be happy if I can keep it up like this!

Eattothebeat · 29/03/2019 10:32

Morning all! Thanks for the protestant tray bake link beela - not sure what to make of it!
waistaway I've stayed the same despite being good all week. I think the learning here for me is that I can no longer be good all week and be a pig at weekends and still expect to lose. I'm going to have to be good all week PLUS not pigging out on a weekend. That said I have done a lot of weights this week so maybe it's something to do with gaining muscle or muscle holding water or some other theory I'm holding on to! Anyway the good thing about weighing today is that instead of approaching the weekend with wild abandon and plans to eat and drink everything that comes my way I am going to be more careful about what I consume. Have a good day everyone - I'm off to do lots of exercise now!!

luckylips · 29/03/2019 18:30

Happy birthday @Thisimmortalcurl! That Chinese meal looks epic 😆

I'm hungry 😩 On my period, would that affect it?

Eattothebeat · 30/03/2019 07:40

luckylips yes it definitely would!
Well I'm half a pound lighter this morning and I'm planning on doing plenty of exercise today as I'm determined to see the numbers move down before my holiday.

Hope everyone else is doing ok and moving downwards but even if you're not then it's still good to post here and talk it through and we can haul each back onto the wagon!

Whereareyouspot · 30/03/2019 07:56

Well I well and truly fell off it- there have been chocolate biscuits and entire days of bread and other carbs. Bad spot!

Today I start again. Sun is shining and that means......SHORTS on the horizon. If that won’t motivate us what will!

I have ditched the cows milk for unsweetened almond milk as I’ve discovered PGTips do a T bag that works with non dairy. They are brilliant. No more claggy floaty bits.

I am off for a run in the sunshine then a HIIT class as per usual Saturday mornings and will have greeek yoghurt when I get back then a tuna salad for lunch.

Am determined to shift a few more of the extra pounds and start seeing 57kg on the scales.
I know that’s a happier weight for me although I’ve been much thinner, 57kg means my clothes fit better.

Anyone else starting again and re motivating themselves today?

beela · 30/03/2019 08:02

@eattothebeat it's a bit random, isn't it?!

@luckylips definitely! I have one day a month when I just can't stop eating, always just before I'm due. I've noticed the link now so I'm more prepared for it.

I'm back up to 60.2kg, booo. But I've got my zigzag graph to reassure me that this is a normal fluctuation and the trend is downwards. I've got a sociable weekend coming up but I'm determined not to let it totally derail me.

Have a good weekend everyone Smile

beela · 30/03/2019 08:05

@whereareyouspot it's a perfect morning for running! Sunny but cool, lovely.

luckylips · 30/03/2019 08:09

I'm afraid I didn't do well yesterday.

So sick of the food I cook and eat!

Back to it today ☀️

Thisimmortalcurl · 30/03/2019 09:06

That’s great Beat
Well that’s me back on it today after eating and drinking so much over the last few days.
I weighed myself this morning and apparently have managed to put on 6lb since Wed morning !!!!
Hopefully that’s not all real .
I always get really hungry before I get my period Lucky .. for chocolate which I am never usually that bothered about.
Fresh slate day spot !

MorrisZapp · 30/03/2019 09:11

Well I'm pissed off. Lost half a stone in easy peasy fashion and got a false sense of security. Now stalled and going nowhere.

I'm sticking with it, and hope to see more losses, but I'm actually offended by my scales right now.

Whereareyouspot · 30/03/2019 11:39

Ugh @Morris it’s even more frustrating when you know you have tried and the scales don’t reward the effort.

I do have to try and remind myself that weight loss really isn’t linear nor makes much sense most of the time!

Could you make a change somehow? So you at least feel you are trying something new? Not cutting food further but mixing it up a bit in macros or trying to drink more water or change the times of day you eat? Sometimes a little shock kicks the metabolism in touch.

I have weighed after a 10 mile run and a HIIT class but also four large tea/coffee, two glasses of squash and some breakfast and I’m 58.4 which is lowest reading for ages. Granted it may be water I’ve lost but I wasn’t unduly sweaty on the run as it was early and I always weigh myself after exercise and drinks normally late morning so I’m going to consider it a small win and try to stay on track.

Thisimmortalcurl · 30/03/2019 11:49

I know that feeling well Morris .. I read about the woosh effect off weight loss and try to hope it’s that .
That’s great Spot , so admire all the fitness effort .

Eattothebeat · 30/03/2019 18:11

Lovely to see so many posts on here. Well I've made an amazing discovery today - Lo-Dough. They are pizza bases with just 38 calories and 2.2g of carbs each. They aren't cheap at £2.50 each but to be able to eat guilt free pizza whilst low carbing feels amazing and they are ready made so you don't have to mess around making a cauliflower base or anything faffy or fiddly. You can also use them to make quiches or as tortillas etc.

beela · 31/03/2019 19:57

Interesting eat, how do they taste?

I hope everyone has had a good weekend. I had a day out with friends yesterday but stuck to plan, food wise. Today involved a lot of cake - but that was also my plan, so no worries there Grin

Back on the wagon now until Easter.

I'm just making a meal plan for this coming week, any suggestions? What's your favourite healthy meal?

Whereareyouspot · 31/03/2019 20:41

I had a lovely day but I’ve had obscene amounts of cake and feel a bit cross with myself
I have no off button once I start.
Have done an hour on the cross trainer and 7 miles walking the fields though but still- the scales won’t be pretty.

Just sat here meal planning. Determined for the week ahead.
Got the pinch of nom book to plan the family meals- not really for me but hoping that having healthy meals for them will encourage me as well.

MUST. NOT. SNACK.
and I might freeze the left over cakes to stop me nibbling

rainydogday · 31/03/2019 22:52

Back on it this coming week after a week of coughs & colds & weakness! I have done a big shop and the fridge is full of fruit & veg & fish. 😇 I MUST NOT SNACK is my mantra!

waistaway · 31/03/2019 23:31

I was pretty good exercise wise this weekend and pretty good diet wise until about an hour ago when I had mother's day white toast. One of the dc was having some and it just smelt so delicious. Will still weigh in tomorrow morning.

MorrisZapp · 31/03/2019 23:34

Went for a lovely lunch today and made goodish choices. Tiny dinner (small bowl of alpen) to mitigate the damage. Said no to the bread basket and had a diet coke instead of a beer. Winning!

Eattothebeat · 01/04/2019 05:50

I thought I'd killed the thread yesterday with my lo-dough post! beela it doesn't really have a strong taste - it's just like a thin pizza base and you just add toppings as normal. I've bulk ordered them as I love pizza and miss it when I'm low carbing.

Had a more restrained weekend than usual and did plenty of exercise. Went out for mother's day lunch and had a massive plate of sunday roast but I had burnt off a lot of calories in the morning and I didn't have dinner.

I've a good feeling about this coming week weight loss wise as I am more determined than ever with my holiday so imminent. Usually on a Monday I am starting from the position of having over indulged at the weekend and trying to reverse the damage but I reckon I've probably stayed the same over the weekend so hopefully if I make good choices and exercise lots this week I will get that elusive whoosh on Friday. Good luck for this week everyone.

Thisimmortalcurl · 01/04/2019 10:36

Well my lack of restraint went on and on but stops today . I was feeling quite sorry for myself over the weekend as I was in both days , 13 hour shifts then losing an hours sleep and working mother’s day.
They were not bad shifts though really and I’m off all week so that’s great for the break and hopefully great for the diet.

MorrisZapp · 01/04/2019 16:19

Well I've broken the impasse, two more pounds down now so averaging 1 pound a week which is exactly what I'm aiming for.

Think I might do my official weighing (on machine at Boots, not crap ikea scales) once a fortnight going forward.

My nerves can't take it every week!

waistaway · 01/04/2019 17:22

I wad 10st 4lb this morning so a pound down over the weekend. The toast last night obviously didn't do as much damage as my usual weekend treats. I think weighing in on Mon and Fri might be the way to go for me. A pound a week would have me 10st or under by the end of April and that would make me so happy.

Eattothebeat · 01/04/2019 17:46

Well done Curl, Morris and Waist sounds like you're all going great guns.
I also think that regular weighing is a great way of keeping things in check although I am only ever keen to jump on the scales if I think I'm going to like what I see.
Been pretty restrained so far today and going off to do some exercise soon. I'd be happy to keep losing a pound a week until I get to target.

I am certainly feeling more confident these days in my work clothes - I can choose from just about every outfit in my wardrobe these days which is nice. I hate it when I only have about 5 things to choose from because I've taken my eye off the ball and got chubby.
