We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

moonlight1705 Massive congratulations to you!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 10/02/2019 20:22

Welcome Another Sorry you are going through this again because I don't think any of us have happily eaten our way up to obesity but glad you have joined us

Oh I don't know, I quite like eating 😂 Previously lost 150lbs over about 2 1/2 years. Not quite back at the start point, but not far off 🙄

moonlight1705 congratulations, hope all is well

Quandary2018 · 10/02/2019 22:25

Many many congratulations Moonlight!!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 10/02/2019 22:34

Moonlight oh my goodness congratulations!!! Well done you superstar! 10lb 4oz, blooming heck, no wonder she came out the sunroof! Hope recovery is ok for you. I'm always here if you want to talk babies.

Cate am I reading right that you lost over 6lbs this week? That's incredible!

Cricket well done on your run!

Here great news on the wardrobe! It's brilliant isn't it. I wish I'd kept some clothes from my biggest. It's hard to imagine how big I was now.

Another welcome. I'm sorry you find yourself needing to join us, but at least you are taking proactive steps.

Had a nice family day today. DSis is emigrating soon so it's good to spend time together whilst we can. Also, she bought me a dress she thought I'd like. I do. And I love that it's a size 12 and fits like a glove.

I'd done hardly any steps today so I had to jog on the spot this evening for 50 minutes! Plus side, I can jog on the spot for 50 minutes! Grin

Ok, so Monday morning because it's the law that all diets start on Mondays.

Hopped on the scales. 110lbs to get back to my ideal weight (14st) but in reality I'm not expecting miracles. I got there before by religiously counting calories and doing a lot of exercise (running, cycling, spin classes, gym and kettle bells classes). I now have a 10 week old baby so both calorie counting and exercise are that much more difficult. Previous lowest weight was 200lbs exactly.

On the plus side, if we're looking to be grateful for small mercies, I am exactly 50lbs lighter than my original start weight from 1/1/2014

I'm going to attempt to loosely count calories, and try and get back to the gym this week. I suspended my membership on my cardiologist's instruction at 7 months pregnant. I'll be going back and they'll think I'm still pregnant at this rate Blush

Whycantistaymotivated · 11/02/2019 15:15

Hi All please be gentle with me, need motivation and you all seem to be going so well with your weight loss

I really really need to crack on!! My weight is getting out of control. I was really happy with the way I looked 3ish years ago. Had my beautiful daughter 2017 and it's been piling on ever since.

I've always been curvy and loved it but my curves are disappearing into something I don't even like to look at in the mirror anymore ☹

Anyway mind if I join in and hopefully you will inspire me to do something about it?

categed · 11/02/2019 21:11

Moonlight
Congratulations, i hope you are both keeping well.

Welcome, i love your username, that's my problem too. It's a hard journey back to health, but with the support on here we can all do it.

AnotherOriginalUsername · 12/02/2019 09:29

Day 1: Fail. I cannot be successful without counting calories, it just doesn't work. Will just have to move the space time continuum to find enough time to do so. So far, so good. Also booked in to spinning on Thursday, need to make sure my bib shorts still fit Blush

HoneysuckIejasmine · 12/02/2019 12:28

Hi Whycant, welcome! My weight has always been high but it reached new peaks after I had my daughter too. Luckily this group was here and I now also have a son and 6.5 stone less of me!

Moonlight hope you're getting on ok.

Another yeah, I don't do well either. I think when I get to maintaining, I will probably continue to log things that are high calorie, just to keep an eye. E.g. Everything other than fruit and veg! It's definitely a habit now, I've been using mfp for over a year.

My issue is finishing my kids leftovers. I can't bear waste, we're on a tight budget. I'm still losing despite hoovering up DD's crusts and DS's cheese, but I wonder how much more I could lose if I stopped. I need to get a handle on it, it's ridiculous.

Bleh. I made a nice cup of tea, sat down to feed baby and he's fallen asleep, so my poor tea will go cold. Sad

Story of my life at the moment! My morning coffee goes cold every. single. morning.

I go to the drive thru at Costa and drink it on the way home just to drink it hot Blush

Cultofpersonality · 12/02/2019 14:03

Eeeek congratulations moonlight1705

Just popping in with a NSV.
I basically live in leggings. Cause they’re comfy and I’m fat.
The size 18 pair I’m currently wearing are a little bit loose!
Not too sure if I’m brave enough to try a size 16 just yet though :)

Whycantistaymotivated · 12/02/2019 14:37

I've grown to enjoy microwaved brews so I don't waste.

My 3 don't leave leftovers lol (2 DSSs plus DD)

Well done on the weight loss thats fantastic! I actually lost weight during pregancy then replaced sleep with food (choclate and biscuits) once DD was here

One small step today, didn't have a chocolate after lunch which I really wanted as DD was up 3-5am today. Very small step lol

AnotherOriginalUsername · 12/02/2019 16:50

Microwaved? Sacrilege!

I've really tried today. So far, so good. I've also re-identified (and resisted) some trigger points....

  1. Eating in the car
  2. Impulse buys from supermarket bakery sections (usually eaten in the car!)
  3. Boredom eating

Baby has refused to sleep today so I popped him in the sling and walked into town to buy nappies. Jeez that was a work out, he's getting a bit big for the stretchy sling!

HoneysuckIejasmine · 12/02/2019 18:32

Yep, I microwave them too. Desperate times!

TheStirrer · 12/02/2019 19:04

I microwave mine and I don’t even have small children Blush

Congrats to Moonlight on the new arrival

hereforthelonghaul · 12/02/2019 20:17

Believe in reheating drinks tonight give them a second chance 😊

Doing good here. Haven't binged for at least 45 days. Can't remember any further back. Have also avoided some tough triggers. Onwards!

moonlight1705 · 12/02/2019 20:22

Thanks all for your lovely messages, we are all home now from hospital and getting used to life.

So far its been nice to be home and getting used to being a parent. I dare not weigh myself yet so am going to do it in two weeks to create a new baseline.

I can't believe you've all got used to microwave tea....is this where life gets depressing? Grin

hereforthelonghaul · 12/02/2019 20:39

Needs must 🤣

HoneysuckIejasmine · 13/02/2019 20:59

Moonlight you'll have a bit of fluid retention at the moment I daresay, 2 weeks sounds like a sensible plan.

marcopront · 14/02/2019 03:39

I've just got back from cross fit (it's 6:30 am here). I managed to do some for 40 seconds rather than the 30 last time and managed the easy rather than super easy in some:

hereforthelonghaul · 14/02/2019 20:39

Excellent progress Marco

Mfp is keeping me sane this week. Not only is it pmt but I have a huge deadline on Monday and am not getting much sleep as a result. If I had not been logging my food, I would have been well over. It is funny how off my hunger receptors can go when I am surviving on little and broken sleep!

hereforthelonghaul · 15/02/2019 20:11

It's gone really quiet
Is everyone OK?

FromDespairToHere · 15/02/2019 23:40

I stayed the same this week. Am disappointed but reminding myself it's a marathon not a sprint.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 15/02/2019 23:47

Hi! Yes, sorry, it is quiet! My car broke down this week so I've been worrying about money. Luckily got away with £150 so could have been a lot worse. I think this week has gone badly and I'm expecting a gain tomorrow morning. So trying to get myself in a positive mindset for that. As From just said - it's a marathon, not a sprint. Sometimes you stay the same or gain, but you must KOKO nonetheless.

Quandary2018 · 16/02/2019 07:59

Well I’ve gained a pound- I seem to be losing and gaining the same pound this year and it’s driving me crazy.
I was really on plan this week, I exercised, I ate right, I went to bed early, I kept hydrated. I stuck to 1200 calories every day
I don’t know what’s going on but it’s so disheartening
I never did my measurements in the beginning but I’m thinking I probably ought to as maybe I’m losing inches but not pounds
Half term this week and I’m off work, always tricky but I’ve got lots of healthy meals planned for me and the kids, got some fun but exercise based activities- Ice skating and an inflatable place and I’m determined to not let my exercise drop just because I’m not doing my usual 6k walk to work in the mornings
KOKO and maybe the scales will catch up with me 😂😂
