We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and all at different stages, but we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread(s), I’ll add one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals to you.

Good luck moonlight. It'll be your fastest weight loss ever!

All good here. Dropped my calories by 100 to make it hurt a little. I'm still on 1600 which is enough for my TDEE and I won't be fussed if I go over slightly occasionally.

FromDespairToHere · 08/02/2019 13:48

2lbs for me today. That's 10lbs in total and my first goal reached. Got the next 10lbs in my sights!

marcopront · 08/02/2019 15:57

Giving blood was fine, I had a banana and some water afterwards. The scales there suggested I had lost a stone in a week which I decided was unlikely.

I have however lost 4 lb so 9 lb in total. For the first time ever I am taking photos and putting those on MFP, I can see the difference.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 08/02/2019 18:48

Well done on the losses, from and marco.

I'm debating park running tomorrow morning. Not sure if I will or not. Depends on the weather, I imagine 😂

Hi everyone. Busy few weeks and I weighed in today. I had to buy new scales as my others broke. I weighed in at 20st 9lb. I am happy with that. I started on January 1st at 21st 5lb so I am going slow and steady.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 08/02/2019 22:15

That's good going in a month, well done!

Hi everyone, I’m down a pound! Still struggling mentally with it, I’ve done everything right this week but no real results.
I seem to be retaining water all of a sudden which has never been an issue for me ever before- do I just drink lots of water to flush it out??
Would really like my body to start cooperating and let the scales reflect my hard work 😂

HoneysuckIejasmine · 09/02/2019 10:08

Quandary a lb is a result! It's frustrating when it's slow but if you Koko you'll probably find you get a whoosh.

Loss this week: 2.75lbs
Loss to date: 94.25lbs
To lose: 18.50lbs

Really pleased to be edging closer to 100lbs. My weight loss has really improved since I started exercising every day, and my fitness is improving too.

Didn't do park run - did a 5.6km walk last night with my next door neighbour instead.

fezzesarecool · 09/02/2019 15:36

Sounds like everyone’s doing really well!

TheStirrer · 09/02/2019 18:51

Weigh in day here. 1.25lbs off! 😃

Starting weight 21st 11.5 on 19/1/19
Weight today 21st 1.25 on 9/2/19
Total weight loss to date 10.25lbs.

I’ve lost 10%!!!!!!

It would be really nice to get under 21st next week. Still currently eating 2000 calories and not doing any exercise so at some point will need to reduce calories & start some exercise.

Had one bad day this week. Carbs are really not good for me - once I started I could not stop..... is anyone else like this?

By the way we have some truly inspiration people here that give me hope that it can be done

HoneysuckIejasmine · 09/02/2019 20:36

*Stirrer" congratulations on 10%! What a great milestone. I didn't start exercising until I was 50-60lbs in. By all means start sooner, fitness is important. But weight loss is mostly due to diet.

Binge eating is hard to avoid. Best thing to do is have some options to do instead when you get the urge to binge.

Well done on all you losses 👏👌
1lb off is great, better gone than you carrying it😁

I weigh in tomorrow so hoping for a loss.

CheshireChat · 09/02/2019 23:39

Is it ok to join this thread even if we haven't started quite yet? I might not have to lose quite as much, however I'm very certainly obese as I'm short! Pretty dreadful family genetics as well (heart attacks and diabetes) so really need to get my arse in gear but the gear no longer fits.

Main motivation is that I want to keep up with DS, secondary one is plain vanity.

Was considering doing something like a reward chart as I'm secretly a toddler for every 5kg (11lbs) I've lost so I have a tangible goal and reward in sight.

I tend to be fairly obsessive about food when dieting so might assign 'do this instead of eating' tasks, at the very least I'll have read more or actually used my craft sets.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 09/02/2019 23:45

Hi Cheshire, welcome. I agreed to start back in 2017 and then promptly fell pregnant, and didn't actually start until 2018! So don't worry, feel free to hang out until you're ready to get going.

OP posts:
CheshireChat · 10/02/2019 03:40

I'll be lurking for a bit until I get some things sorted then probably getting on with it around next week.

Definitely no pregnancies any more for me!

categed · 10/02/2019 09:00

cricketmum84 · 10/02/2019 09:33

Yes I only lasted 15 mins and yes I half walked/half jogged but sod it im taking it as a win! I haven't run for about 2 years!

categed · 10/02/2019 11:06

cricketmum84
Well done on your run, that's fab x

hereforthelonghaul · 10/02/2019 11:48

So much good news here and esp well done to cricket.

hereforthelonghaul · 10/02/2019 17:27

I tried on my largest pair of jeans today (size 20) and was dreading they'd be too tight but they fit fine and if anything are a little baggy.

The jeans are vanity sized but at least it means I'm no longer at my fattest and now I have some clothes to wear other than formal work clothes and leisure wear.

categed · 10/02/2019 19:18

Well done that's great. It lwys feels nice getting into omething new nd hvng more options in your wardrobe 👍

moonlight1705 · 10/02/2019 19:19

After an exhausting 48 hour labour ending in an emergency csection then we finally have our DD as of this morning. She weighs in at 10lb4 and is utterly gorgeous!!!!

AnotherOriginalUsername · 10/02/2019 19:57

Any room for a not so little one?

Gutted that I'm in the position where I have to do this again Blush

hereforthelonghaul · 10/02/2019 19:59

Congratulations Moonlight Hope you are all well.

categed Thank you. It sure does. I had thought I'd thrown the jeans and my other large clothing out. Glad I hadn't and I will enjoy going back down the sizes again and fitting into my nicer clothes again. It feels like a new wardrobe almost 😊

This must be the last time though. I really want to be able to wander into nice shops again!

hereforthelonghaul · 10/02/2019 20:00

Welcome Another Sorry you are going through this again because I don't think any of us have happily eaten our way up to obesity but glad you have joined us.
