I’ve found a great treat in Iceland. A mini viennetta on a stick, 65-75 cals depending on flavour and nicely hit the spot. Technically I bought them for the children....
Now I know why Mums go to Iceland😉

Wolfcub · 15/02/2019 14:42

Breakfast hot cross bun
Lunch chicken strips and chips a la kfc
Dinner will be hot smoked salmon omelette
There will be wine

Justanothermile · 15/02/2019 15:25

20% of junk though in a diet, surely that's just a lot of unhealthy stuff to put into your body, whatever the weight gain or loss? Or, a whole load on nutrients and stuff to NOT put in? I notice a lot in my running when I've eaten crap or had too much wine or been dehydrated etc and it's not worth it for me personally. Or is that fewer calories than I'm thinking in my head?

Totally realise I look at things in a different perspective though, so if that works and is effective then cool.

Yesterday
Peanut butter on toast and a banana.
Salad bagel, hard boiled egg, satsuma and another banana!
Veggie broth using the instant pot, two slices of seeded bread.
Two crackers with vegan coleslaw. Handful of nuts.

Exercise - interval reps at the track, nearly dark when I got there and I'd never felt less like doing it but actually enjoyed the session and of course glad I moved my sorry ass.

Today.
Scrambled egg on toast (two eggs and extra toast, agree happier, I need some extra good stuff going in).
Falafel wrap, salad, three dried apricots.
Veggie chow mien for tea (will make).

Exercise - 4 jogged miles early doors to shake through the legs.

Good for you on the running happier - great to get it done early before life then ends up in the way.

Not2bObvious · 15/02/2019 16:41

The plan I follow advocates 20% non nutrient dense foods aka junk/shite/rubbish. I don’t think that’s extraordinarily unhealthy - it’s probably a huge improvement for many people. Hell, it’d be a huge improvement for me if I stuck to it consistently.

WreckTangled · 15/02/2019 16:43

I went out for lunch. Again. Had the biggest piece of chocolate cake plus a chicken tikka, mozzarella and spinach toastie.

Not2bObvious · 15/02/2019 16:49

That sounds lush wreck

Wolfcub · 15/02/2019 19:18

I’ve bought some peanut butter halo top. I blame you lot Grin

lifelongfrugaleer · 15/02/2019 20:00

I've eaten like a piggie again today and no gym. Don't feel as grotty tonight though so touch wood getting better

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 15/02/2019 20:12

Hi all.
Lots of carbs today as had a buffet lunch at work, we all brought in some food to share. It was nice, last day for half term and we had training.
I'm visiting my DD1 in Edinburgh, on the train now.
Hope you are all well

ChristmasSeacow · 15/02/2019 21:15

Wolf you’ll not look back Grin. I’m not even that fussed about ice cream but I Love that stuff.

14000 steps today, wfh but with 2x school run.

Cereal bar and satsuma for breakfast, banana for snack

Mexican bean salad thing for lunch with a bit of roast chicken on the side. And an apple. Another cereal bar. About to have a chilli thing, this:

www.waitrose.com/home/recipes/recipe_directory/c/chorizo__bean__pepper_and_butternut_squash_chilli.html

I syn the chorizo so wont be able to have too much treat stuff tonight but it’s worth it for real food! Maybe a bit of halo top later Wink. Or I have some cherries.

I feel loads better when mostly eating nutrient dense stuff. I am not sure it’s about proportions exactly, just making sure I get enough good stuff (which the rubbish can displace when I’m not eating mindfully). I hope I can keep it up long term, I really need to for my health.

Wolfcub · 15/02/2019 21:59

Sea my verdict is it’s a million times better than Oppo but I’m not 100% convinced.

I agree re the food quality, I think nutrition dense food makes you feel more full. My personal belief is that’s because the body knows what it needs so goes looking for it if it isn’t getting the right vitamins and minerals

WreckTangled · 16/02/2019 07:44

Weight down today. Average down 0.5lb too. It's all going to go to shit tonight though because I'm out for dinner and drinks and then breakfast tomorrow Grin

Happierwithouthim · 16/02/2019 08:44

Thanks wolf
Wonders will never cease yesterday I came in 236 cals under!

I'm going to drop back to 1600 cals from today too, unless scales gives me a big surprise today, maybe I could go to 1650, slotting in running in the mornings before work to up my steps too.

I've discovered skinny sausages too in Dunnes & Lidl 80cals & 10g protein, in a slim bagel with some ketchup & dairygold light it's a real 'wrong' breakfast for approx 250 cals Grin

Christmas have you tried the hobnob thins, they're only 31cals each, I don't drink tea so don't find myself reaching for the biscuits but they're a good low cal option.

Not2 maybe I'll have to visit Iceland Grin
Just thought now actually on a frugal note, dc only have two days school & we're away from wed to sun. I won't need a grocery shop at all this week except whatever au pair needs. And there's lots of food in so she might be ok too.

Thanks jam I'm enjoying being back at it, think I'm going to go this morning pre gym as my warm up Grin

Wreck that toastie sounds lovely

Life glad to hear you're feeling a bit better

Curvy enjoy Edinburgh and break away, is it you on your own or with smallies?

Wreck good weigh in

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 16/02/2019 10:22

I got the low fat sausages in Aldi, only 48 cals and 6.6gr of protein. They’re pretty decent, a bit chewy but I’ll take it. My average loss is now at .3, I had hoped to get .7 off this week. But with totm and fluid retention it’s not happening. And truthfully I haven’t been able to stick to my cals all week but my steps are averaging 16,000 a day so that might explain the splurges. Hard to find a balance. Need to dig deeper for sure though.
What had you gone up to happier? Was it 1700?

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 16/02/2019 11:47

Morning all.
Only coffee so far today!
Happier on my own! DD said she is going to take me clubbing, haha!

Happierwithouthim · 16/02/2019 11:50

Ya I went up to 1700 because of bootcamp 5 times weekly & starting to binge.

My steps are so poor, I'm going to sort that now & get back hitting my fibre too.
Water is always good & protein almost always good too.

Had a lovely breakfast of 2 bacon medallions, one loughnanes skinny sausage Fitzgerald's slim skinny bagel 100g sugar free beans an egg some dairy gold light ketchup & 200ml OJ for 592 cals but so filling.

Think I'll do protein/all bran shake for lunch & gymming and then another of my DropChef meals for dinner

I'm at -0.7lbs average but I want more so gotta up my game. Totm also & for first time in 8 months since starting pill to balance my hormone levels it coincided with break in pill, hope it's not just a coincidence.

That's a good loss too at totm not2

Curvy I was hoping you'd say that enjoy every minute

Wolfcub · 16/02/2019 13:01

Breakfast sounds good Happier. Food so far: soup, hot cross bun

Not2bObvious · 16/02/2019 13:16

Hot cross bun season again, I have loads in my freezer - might be beyond their best but still edible. Just back from am 8500 step walk, backs a bit draggy, probably take it handy enough for the rest of the day. There’s talk of McDonald’s here but I’m not a big fan

Justanothermile · 16/02/2019 15:32

Good luck with clubbing Curvy.😂

Definitely feel better for nutrient dense food. I notice this most when I'm in full training such as now. 50 miles a week and 3 gym sessions need fuelling. Weirdly, you get less and less interested in eating badly. I think there's something in what wolf says, the body seems to know what it needs.

Parkrun this morning. 21.22. Boom, marathon miles paying off, enough for 3rd female on a competitive course. I also don't believe age is a barrier, I'm 47.

Foods.
Peanut butter on seeded toast.
Banana.
Avocado and roasted veg sandwich, satsuma. Two falafels, hard boiled egg.
Tea will be a takeout pizza at friends but I'll have veggie with no cheese so fine.

Running 20 in the morning anyway and a gym session so fuel to run, fuel to run.😁.

Justanothermile · 16/02/2019 15:33

Look after the back not

Happierwithouthim · 16/02/2019 16:50

I'm not a McDonald's fan either prefer an independent chipper, but love Supermacs chips Grin

Been for a walk & to the gym so once I do something tomo I'll hit my 4 days exercise out of 4 goal ,10000 steps hit first time this week

Going to make dinner now & relax

Well done on parkrun jam I might get my sister to go with me next week

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 16/02/2019 17:28

Supermacs garlic cheese chips are my fav, drool. Talked them out of McD’s, just had multigrain crumpets (2), and picked a few other bits. Thai green curry for dinner. Very peckish, I could eat everything if allowed.
Must must must get to a park run done Saturday, did my first run outside in ages today. Possibly why my back was at me a bit but after some relaxation with a hot water bottle, it’s much better

CurvyInAllTheWrongPlaces · 16/02/2019 17:49

Evening all.
Have been to the fruit market gallery and walked around a bit, 10,238 steps.
Had a great vegan sandwich with grilled veggies, mayo and pickled onions from a cafe called Gannet.
DD is making roasted broccoli soup for dinner, can't wait!

Wolfcub · 16/02/2019 18:37

Small bowl peanuts. We are having veggie samosas with our paneer wraps.

Wine

There will also be an eclair
