Well i started back to slimming world last thursday and have managed to loose four pounds.

Like many of you i have joined and re-joined SW / WW so many times and never got past a couple of weeks.

So this time i am setting a challenge for anyone that wants to join me.

So i set you this challenge to loose 1 stone by xmas which is approx 15/16 weeks away which by loosing a 1lb a week is very achievable.

So wether your going to class or doing it yourself please come and join us.

So Kayleigh were are you????

yep

I'm with you on this. I would love to loose a ston (would love to loose a bit more but a stone is a start)

Where is that Kayleigh??

Kayleigh · 02/09/2004 19:25

I'm here . And I'm with you all the way (weigh?!!).
Started back on tuesday and this time, with your help & support, I WILL do it.
I would be happy to lose a stone by Xmas. It'll be a start anyway.

clairabelle · 02/09/2004 20:07

I started back last week, have lost 7lbs, aim to loose another 7lbs by my b/day beginning Oct and then another 13lbs by Christmas. Sounds a lot I know but boy I have a lot to lose

Kayleigh · 02/09/2004 20:09

clairabelle, was that 7lbs in your first week ?

clairabelle · 02/09/2004 20:11

Yes Kayleigh but in context of what I've got to lose it's a mere drop in the ocean Shows it works though.

Kayleigh · 02/09/2004 20:17

But it's still a great loss. And you wouldn't have lost it if you hadn't gone. In light of what you say you have to lose your targets sound realistic.

Welcome aboard !

fairydust · 02/09/2004 21:54

lilibet & clairabelle nice to see you both -

I might be joining you here, I am on a detox at the moment. 5 days in and I know I have lost loads, but I am aiming to break bad habits again!!!

Arabica · 02/09/2004 22:10

Can I join you too? I have lost 11lbs so far with SW (about 2st to go) but put a pound back last week and can feel my motivation slipping a little as it's the first gain I've had. By the way, I didn't lose anything for the first 3 weeks--then I lost 4lbs in one go!

fairydust · 02/09/2004 22:13

crunchie - welcome and what do you mean by detox???

Arabica - well done for lose so far keep posting and together we'll all do it

Kayleigh · 02/09/2004 23:10

Hi Crunchie, was wondering when you'd pop up

Arabica, that must of been hard going - 3 weeks with no loss. Well done on your loss so far though. We'll get your motivation going again.

Hi Mummytosteven, welcome to the soon to be slim and sylphlike club.

clairabelle · 03/09/2004 04:57

fairydust · 03/09/2004 08:22

right ladies today i want to know what your weaknesses are?????

mine's takeout - kebabs = pizza you name it we love it and at any excuse not to cook we will have one - i need to get out of the habbitt of preparing dinner late so there for can't be bothered need to prepare in the afternoon.

OP posts:
Titania · 03/09/2004 08:47

can i join in?

Titania · 03/09/2004 08:53

my weaknesses are pasta...lots and lots of it with lovely sauces and cheese!!!!! Chocolate malted milk biscuits, um.......and the chinese takeaway...(budget permitting!!!) um......i think thats about it.

Kayleigh · 03/09/2004 09:02

my weaknesses are chocolate - especially in the evening watching TV.

oh and finishing other peoples desserts

Arabica · 03/09/2004 18:20

I go out for lunch/dinner with people who aren't food optimising (ie, entire world except for my group who I only see on Tuesday nights as they seem to all work in offices during the day) and having stuck beautifully to my syn-free jacket potato and beans/undressed salad/grilled fish and veggies followed by black coffee, can't resist snacking, mindlessly, on stuff I don't really want when I get home. When I say mindlessly, I mean my hand's unwrapped the boring mousetrap cheddar cheese, sliced off a wedge and shoved it in my mouth almost before I know what I am doing. Ideally I would have preferred to spend those 10 or so syns on something much more yummy and worthwhile, like salad dressing, mayonnaise or some posh chocolate.

lilibet · 03/09/2004 18:27

My wekness isn't a food, it's a time. From getting in from picking the boys up from school to
teatime I have been known to eat half a loaf of bread each slice smeared with butter. Or I just keep having spoonfulls from the chocolate spread jar. I know what I should be doing but I just don't!! Even if I have lovely healthy carrot sticks in the fridge I keep heading for the photo of the bread bin - and there is a very unflattering picture of me above it!

So how are we doing this? I'm quite game to post my weight as the chances are I will never meet any of you, but I understand that others may not be.
Are we having a weekly weigh in?

fairydust · 03/09/2004 18:54

All i say is that i want to loose 3stone in total and one of thoose by xmas

OP posts:
vict17 · 03/09/2004 18:57

Ooh can I join? Lilibet - I have the same weakness as you!!!!!!! The chocolate spread jar I've had to ban it from the house as I just eat it all with a spoon!

lilibet · 03/09/2004 19:16

and would you shout at the children if you saw them doing the same thing??

Dingle · 03/09/2004 19:30

Don't know that I want to lose much weight- perhaps 7-10lb, not sure what idea weight is.
Can I still join in- I need some help & encouragement to eat healthier and to do some more exercise.
Being forced into it at the moment- in a moment of madness I agreed to do a charity run ( well more of a walk/jog to be honest. Done no training and the big day is on Sunday..eeek!!
After that I think I will need so motivation to keep it going!
My weakness- well, probably not having time for a proper meal at mealtimes, getting so hungry & picking at rubbish. Oh yes, takeaways-chinese, indian, kebab....you name it! [shame icon]
More planning is desperatly required.
