Well i started back to slimming world last thursday and have managed to loose four pounds.

Like many of you i have joined and re-joined SW / WW so many times and never got past a couple of weeks.

So this time i am setting a challenge for anyone that wants to join me.

So i set you this challenge to loose 1 stone by xmas which is approx 15/16 weeks away which by loosing a 1lb a week is very achievable.

So wether your going to class or doing it yourself please come and join us.

So Kayleigh were are you????

i'm off to get weighed in an hour and nervous as weighed myself this morning (i know i shouldn't) and am sure i've put on, or stayed the same. But I have been good all week and kept my sins down so I'll be gutted if i don't lose

fairydust are you back on track ?

Titania · 14/09/2004 11:23

aw blimey.......my legs are killing today!!! i did a 1 hour work out video yesterday and then 10 minutes on the exersize bike.....found muscles i never knew i had i can tell you!!!! ive started keeping a diary of all the food i eat, waist, bust, hip, and top thigh measurements, and how much exersize i do....fingers crossed!!!

Arabica · 14/09/2004 11:38

Good luck with your weigh-in, Kayleigh. You sound very focussed, so I'm sure it will be good news for you. It's mine tonight and I've had an OK week considering life's been a bit stressful lately and that always means I eat more. My too-tight cords now fit beautifully thoughso whatever the scales have to say, I'm happy. How's Fairydust? You did great last weekwhat was this past week like for you?

Shiraz · 14/09/2004 11:41

Hi Ladies,

I realay need to join this thread..firslty though can i be cheeky and ask if any of you can send or post me the red day /green day eating plans..as i've lost all my SW books and info whilst moving in June! Looked through all my unpacked boxes last night and couldn't find them arrrggghhhh!

I'm Beccy 22 and mummy to Georgia-Mae 8 months, i lost 2.5 stone by May 03, after putting this weight on from the depo injection! Then i found it in June 03 i was pg, so have put it all (and a little more) back on grrrrr!

I want to be that sexy, curvy size 12 me that dp met 5 years ago, he was so proud when ilopst that weight last year and was a size 12-14, obviously he loves me for me but i want to feel good again!

And think i really need the support and advice, as i cannot attend classes at the mo, due to the hours dp is currently working!

Look forward to chatting to you all, Becs xx

BTW can anybody tell me the website password so i can check syn values etc?? Sorry if i sound cheeky!

Becs xx

Shiraz · 14/09/2004 11:43

By the way good luck with all your weigh-ins! Becs xxx

Kayleigh · 14/09/2004 13:33

Not as bad as I feared. I lost 1/2 a pound. So at least it's a loss. And that's 6 pounds in two weeks which is good. Am pleased so should be able to stay on the straight and narrow for another week

Fairydust, you ok ?

Arabica, good luck for tonight.

Arabica · 14/09/2004 16:20

Well done Kayleigh, a loss is a loss, innit! Our Consultant doesn't do half-pounds. If you lose half a pound she calls it a pound and if you put it on she rounds it down and says you stayed the same! Shiraz, is there no SW group near your new home? I only ask because I've tried and failed several times to do it alone but knowing I'm to be weighed and see my SW friends every week (even if it's just to pop in and get weighed) keeps me a bit more focussed.

Arabica · 14/09/2004 16:29

Sorry Shiraz! I didn't read your message properly--the bit where you say you cannot get to class.

Kayleigh · 14/09/2004 16:35

like the sound of your consultant Arabica

lilibet · 14/09/2004 17:51

Hello
sorry I've not been here a lot but have been soooo busy!!
Well done Kayleigh - you're doing really well, have the jeans started feeling a bit slacker yet?

I'm weighing tomorrow morning, not had a bad week apart from the pizza and the extra wine

Having fried onion smashcakes for tea
yum!!

Arabica · 14/09/2004 19:40

Yippee! I lost 6lbs: the 5lbs I'd gained last week...and one for luck. . I'm now back on track, 2lbs away from my first stone, which I had planned to lose in time for my birthday next week. In response to Kayleigh, our Consultant is very positive but sadly SW doesn't seem to be working very well for her--she's always stressed out and never loses any weight. Maybe she should try Weight Watchers!
Lilibet, please can you share recipe for smashcakes? Our class is having a tasting session next week and I'd love to make something impressive!

Kayleigh · 14/09/2004 19:50

oh arabica, that's brilliant. I'm so pleased you stuck at it. Well done
LOL at your consultant going to weight watchers

hi lilibet, mmmm i like the sound of smash cakes too. jeans not feeling that much slacker, but the enourmous roll of fat over the top is now only a medium roll !

Arabica · 15/09/2004 12:01

So do any of you have an outfit hanging in your wardrobe to serve an an incentive for your weight loss? First I had all the trousers that were already hanging in the wardrobe and didn't fit. Now I've got a new pair of Gap trousers that are slightly too tight. And if I can't do them up comfortably by the weekend after next, I'll be going to my own birthday party in just a pair of knickers cos I don't own anything else that's smart!

Kayleigh · 15/09/2004 12:06

LOL Arabica . But at least they'll be smaller knickers !

I have my eye on a dress in Next that I tried on three weeks ago and i looked lumpy in. When I have lost a stone I intend to go try it again. And I will look stunning!!!

I have a wardrobe full of clothes that I need to get into , the mumsnet server isn't big enough for me to list them all. But my favourites are a pair of GAP jeans that haven't been worn for a year and a per una skirt that I can just about squeeze into but with a big roll of fat over the top. Need that roll to vanish.

lilibet · 15/09/2004 12:07

I stayed the same , but at least I didn't put on

Well done Arabica [cheering icon]

I'm afraid smashcakes are quite boring, it's just a packet of sin free smash, made with water, shaped into little rounds and cooked in fry light.

I will look for Crunchies Weetabix trifle which she said was wonderful.

Kayleigh · 15/09/2004 12:11

lilibet you still deserve a "well done". Am sure it'll come off next week.

lilibet · 15/09/2004 12:15

crunchies trifle is on the 9th july

I had forgotten what a good thread that was for recipies and ideas. It's well worth a look thru. My printer is prinitng it at the moment so I can look busy this afternoon.

Arabica · 15/09/2004 19:00

Cheers for the recipes. And well done for staying the same. When I get to my target I am going to take all my boring, slimming black clothes to the nearest charity shop, then buy myself someting tight-fitting and purple. Preferably with fake leopard-skin trim. I've got 3 years of cover-up dressing to atone for!

Kayleigh · 15/09/2004 19:11

Arabica, is the world ready for a slim you ??

Arabica · 15/09/2004 23:48

No, the world ain't--although where I live, you could probably walk around naked and nobody would say anything!

dibooth · 15/09/2004 23:51

Okay guys, I've heard of SW and WW, but have no idea what the eat codes are....! I'd like to join in, have about 3 stone to get off to be the size I was when first met DH - DH blames it on 2 kids in 18 months, but actually I think I'm kidding myself!!! I used to be a gym freak , so for me no gym = bid blob !

Anyway as a healthy eating novice, pls can anyone give me any tips?

Got loads of fads -

Eat fruit for breakfast - probably shouldn't I'm diabetic!
Have salad for lunch with cous cous
Have a pm snack - normally an allegedly low cal chewy bar
Eat a reasonable tea - but with a Bailey's and/or sometimes a yoghurt and/or sometimes crisps...!
Can't seem to stay good all day anyway!

Take today, forgot fruit, had a bacon butty from canteen at work - well dry toast just didn't excite me!
Had a cibatta roll with ceasar chicken filling for lunch - all that fat! And had dry fry chicken, roast spuds (frozen type) and beans for dinner, but couldn't resist a bit of G&B white chocolate - no Baileys!

What do yout hink? Can I be saved?

Arabica · 16/09/2004 10:26

Hi dibooth. How brave to share your eating diary! I've tried lots of different diets in the past and SW is the only one I've ever been able to stick to because they allow you lots of 'free food' - ie, you can eat unlimited amounts of certain foods without having to weigh them--that includes things like jacket spuds with lots of beans, as well as fruit and veggies. If you'd like to know more you could check out their website

fairydust · 16/09/2004 18:42

hi guys = well i've had the week from hell -bad is not the word.

Also the tummy bug from hell and feel as though i've lost 6stone in a night.

Anyway back on it tomorrow - well done everyone for your hard work i need lots of motivation now for this week.

dibooth - the web site will give you a idea of what is what the SW magazine is brill as well (nearly everywear sells it) it'd be great if you joined us.

oh and thanks kayleigh everytime i see an e-mail from u i feel guilty as hell for being bad which is what i need -so thanks honey

Kayleigh · 17/09/2004 10:11

Fairydust, glad you are back. Was worried about you there for a while.

Christie?? How did you do on weds night ??

I had an ok day yesterday. Stayed neutral till eve as was going to a friend for dinner and didn't know what she was making. Turned out to be chicken in sauce with big jacket and peas. So chose green day with chicken as healthy extras and sauce as sins. Probably went a bit over my sins for the day as had a glass of wine and profiteroles for desert. Well it would have been rude not too {grin]

Back on track today though.

deegward · 17/09/2004 16:28

3.5 lb this week but I think lost it today
