Well i started back to slimming world last thursday and have managed to loose four pounds.

Like many of you i have joined and re-joined SW / WW so many times and never got past a couple of weeks.

So this time i am setting a challenge for anyone that wants to join me.

So i set you this challenge to loose 1 stone by xmas which is approx 15/16 weeks away which by loosing a 1lb a week is very achievable.

So wether your going to class or doing it yourself please come and join us.

So Kayleigh were are you????

Moomin · 28/09/2004 23:02

thank god for that. lost none but put on none either, so can't be bad!

Kayleigh · 29/09/2004 10:20

Good result Moomin

Christie honey, the reason you haven't lost 2 and a half pounds in a week for a long time is that you have very little left to lose. You looked great last week, so I imagine you are pretty close to target. Or maybe you are being TOO good !!!!

Arabica · 29/09/2004 12:37

Hi everyone, I put on a pound, but that is OK--it's only a pound and I am sure I can lose it for next week. Ideally want to lose 2lbs though, so I can get that elusive 1-stone sticker. I find it helps to write down what I eat so I don't conveniently forget how many cheese triangles have already been eaten. Taking DS to indoor playground today so nice long calorie-burning walk there and back (and then hopefully get to read trashy mags for ages while he and his friend entertain themselves)
Kayleigh, you're doing so well! We'll see you in the mag soon as this year's Miss Slinky.

Christie, sounds like you have lost inches instead of weight, still a good thing.

Kayleigh · 30/09/2004 10:13

Arabica, I'm the same as you. Write everything down. I tend to have my sins in 1's and 2's as mustard. ketchup etc, so if i didn't keep track I 'd forget what I'd had.

Christie. Don't worry. Like champs said you have lost inches and I'm sure the weight will come off next week. Hang on in there. I know how frustrating it is. But you really are doing brilliantly. It will get harder for you as you get closer to target. But it will happen.

Arabica · 30/09/2004 19:26

Does anyone else find Green days make them feel a bit bloated? If I have 2 in a row I feel really yuck--I think it's the potatoes (had syn-free chip mountain last night).

Kayleigh · 30/09/2004 19:52

Arabica, I find this with green days too. They also make me terribly (ahem) windy . I usually stick to one green day a week and preferably not just before weigh in. I found last time I did s/w that more than two green days a week and I was prone to stay the same or even put on. I know that vegetarians do all green and lose, but it doesn't work for me.

Arabica · 01/10/2004 16:39

I don't eat meat but I do eat fish and I feel much healthier eating Original days, but usually go Green if eating out as there's more choice (we are talking cafe lunches here, not the kind of restaurants where you can ask for plainly grilled fish)
I'm DETERMINED to get those two pounds off this week so am praying it doesn't rain tonight--want to cycle down to a friend's leaving drinks so I can burn off all the syns I'll be downing!

Arabica · 02/10/2004 13:41

So much for burning syns off on my bike! Got knocked off (no serious harm done to me, but bike pretty distressed) and had to go home, bruised and bedraggled, on my bike. At least was too distressed to comfort-eat...

Thanks for the good wishes Christie. I'm still discovering more bruises but am high on neurofen and syn-free omelette. I had to go to A&E once and the woman in the next cubicle had been out jogging...she'd run straight into a lamp-post and broken her nose!

Kayleigh you really are doing well, I'm incredibly

What is making you stick to it this time?

As you can tell from my absence from this thread my resolution has more thatn wavered

It is 19 weeks to my wedding and I would like to loose 21 lbs in those 19 weeks. I know that is 'doable'. so why the hell don't I do it??

What is it that makes some of us stick to it and others not. I know that next February I shall really hate myself if I don't take action now, but I still have the garlic ciabatta with tea and loads of wine (in the last week dp and I have drunk 7 bottles of wine )

Heigh ho, well done the rest of you anyway - you are all doing incredibly well!

Kayleigh · 03/10/2004 18:53

lilibet, you may be speaking too soon. Haven't had a brilliant weekend. Had a girls night in Friday and drank too much wine so fell under the spell of a bowl of chocolate. Then last night took the kids out for suppper and couldn't resist the spare ribs. Plus i forgot to say "no sour cream" for my jacket pot. But it was delicious !!!!

Hey, if we knew the answer to why some people can stick at it, and others sabotage them selves we'd be very rich women

Arabica, sorry to hear about your fall, hope those bruises heal soon.

Kayleigh · 05/10/2004 11:01

oooh, nervous for weigh in at lunch time. Bad weekend coupled with period due. Not a good combination

Arabica · 05/10/2004 12:43

Good luck Kayleigh. If you have a disappointing result, don't worry. You've done so well and the trick is to not let a 'bad' week scupper your plans--you can't change what's happened already, just make sure this week is better. Having said that I am scared about tonight, I just don't feel any slimmer, because I had a couple of bad days after my bike accident, I didn't go too mental but I did find myself eating a lot more than usual, and of course, no exercise to burn it off.

Kayleigh · 05/10/2004 13:48

oh dear 1 and a 1/2 pounds on.

Arabica, you are right and I just have to keep going. I will but it's gonna be hard as also can't go to class next week as ds2's first full morning at nursery so won't be at work. So need to be good for 2 weeks !

Good luck for tonight.

Arabica · 05/10/2004 18:14

Sorry to hear about that gain Kayleigh. It's hard to keep motivation up when you have a break from class. The only thing I find really helps is doing a food diary but actually I haven't done this for weeks, partly cos our consultant never looks at them (she's a bit lazy as well as, er, as overweight as she was when I first joined SW back in 2002). I'm just about to set off to my class and am seriously debating whether to have a cuppa first in case it adds weight on!
BTW our thread's a bit long isn't it? Should we start another? I don't know what the MN etiquette is, being as how I'm a new-ish girl...

jojo38 · 07/10/2004 11:09

Hello all.
If you like sweet things - have you tried the "pink n whites" - they are marshmallow inside two wafers - very sweet and appetising. They are pretty low on points too, for the whole pack... check it out. (might suit the chocoholics of us)
Good luck ladies.

Kayleigh · 07/10/2004 11:30

ohhh jojo38, i like the sound of them. Love marshmallow. Where do you find them ? On biscuit counter ????

Arabica, yes we probably should start a new thread. Maybe we can get some of those that have drifted away back in the fold
Would you like to do it ??? !!!
