Hi everyone!

I’m starting a VLCD (Slim and Save) on 1st Jan and wondering is anyone starting too? Or Cambridge, Exabte etc and maybe we could keep each other motivated?

Glad there's a new thread.

I did exante last year and lost a little over 5 stone, got to target just before Christmas but was still between sizes so knew I was going to need to keep going. Put on loads over Christmas (12.5lbsBlush) but I did most definitely over indulge. Now need to re-lose that and a bit more, havent set a goal yet. Started today.

I found the threads really helpful and motivating last year.

rainbowgrimm · 02/01/2019 17:00

That is really inspiring Minnie's&Mickey's. Any tips for the newbies?

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 02/01/2019 17:28

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting that's amazing well done!!

What's your target for this year?

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 02/01/2019 19:51

rainbowgrimm umm tips,

I found having my first meal of the day at lunch time worked for me,
I blend shakes with water and ice, makes them nice and thick,
Drinking water helps, I fill my water bottles at the beginning of the day, otherwise I'd lose track
Keeping busy really helped me,
I found getting through the first 5ish days were tough, push through it,
I have 2 meal replacements per day and prepared my own 200 calorie evening meal, this kept me sane but I know alot of people liked that there was no food prep and therefore didnt have to make food choices
Sorry if they're not very good Smile

Aiming for 11 stone
My last goal was 11st 7lb but I ended up between sizes so need to shave a little more off.
Currently 12st 4lb, annoyed with myself for putting on 12.5lbs over Christmas but my starting weight last time was 16st 10lb so trying to think how far I've come rather than beating myself up over it, what's done is done.

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 02/01/2019 19:55

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting ahh thats totally doable! I hve a feeling you wil smash it! Plus on vlcd it will take no time!

I weighed in on Sunday at 19stone 4lbs! 🤦‍♀️ Genuinely dont know how I got to that one! Just found out a close mate is expecting, although am very very happy for her it has made me realise how much I want a babes. Gotta shift this before it is too late!

SoleBizzz · 02/01/2019 20:02

Always. Every damn year. These fab threads started and fade away after three months. I needed support. I am scared to start posting here because you all run off. Give up Leave me.
I am watching youuuu

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 02/01/2019 20:10

Hey SoleBizzz what plan are you following?

GoGoJo · 02/01/2019 21:42

I'll do my best soul* but if all goes well I'll be done by April/may. The Facebook groups are quite good if it gets quiet on here.

Don't want to piss around this time. No cheating. I will follow plan 100%

What has everyone had today?

I had spag bog for lunch and a black bean pot and a caramel crunch bar for tea. 2500ml water. Half a bottle left to go and I will probably have a Swiss bouillon soup as well in an attempt to stave off the headaches.

GoGoJo · 02/01/2019 21:42

Sorry sole!

GoGoJo · 02/01/2019 21:45

Dayman I was 19.4 when I did this the first time. Lost 7 stone at my best and got down to a size 10/12, since then I have been slipping back into bad habits though and regained 2 and in a 14. Now have 4.4 to go to reach original 10st target.

It's so motivating when you do it right though and the weight just drops off.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 02/01/2019 22:05

SoleBizzz I've been posting on last years since June 2018, people came and went again but there was always new people joining keeping the support going. I need the support of a thread so will stick aroundSmile
How much do you have to lose?
I weigh on wednesdays (I actually pop on the scales frequently but only count Wednesdays weigh-ins)

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 02/01/2019 22:07

GoGoJothat's amazing!! How long did that take you? I'm thinking I will be in this for over a year at the mo lol!

Today I had porridge for breakfast, a choc shake for lunch, some boiled lentils and spring onions for tea/snack and then a vegetable soup for dinner. Plus 3500 water

Feeling like a lot with the snack but I think that is because it feels odd having 4 meals!

GoGoJo · 02/01/2019 22:21

I did it properly from end of jan to around May they started adding a meal a bit and drinking booze again (downfall!) lowest weight was in November, then Christmas happened!

So yeah about a year I think. But probably be helpful to break it down a bit. The first bit was probably both the most noticeable and life changing. 4 solid months made a world of difference.

MrsDeanWinchester75 · 02/01/2019 23:20

I'm on Cambridge, I lost 2 stone 9 in 11 weeks before Christmas, had a couple of weeks off plan and am back on it today to lose the next 1.5 stone to goal.

Eliza9917 · 03/01/2019 07:38

Is anyone else a daily weigher? I've tried and tried not to do it but can't help it Blush

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 03/01/2019 07:53

Eliza9917 I was but the battery in my scales has died and I am not getting any more so I only weigh with my lady once a week

Kittensgalore · 03/01/2019 09:01

Hi all, I started Exante yesterday, have been on and off it previously but never stick with it. This time feel more determined to smash it. Can't face weighing myself (probably have 3-4 stone to lose) but am going to measure today, some weeks not so many pounds come off but measurements show a loss so am going to dig out the tape measure. Am aiming not to have my first packet until 11 or 12 ish, will see how I go. Main issue I have is being a hoover of the kids leftovers and drinking too much alcohol. Good luck today everyone- day 3 or 4 can be tricky.

Jarviscockup · 03/01/2019 09:15

Please may I join?
I'm doing Slim n Save. Starting weight is an embarrassing 18 stone. Today is day 3 and I have woken up with a slight headache and my period has started? Is this normal? I have a mirena coil too so wasn't sure when it was due.
I really want to blast off 3 stone (initially) on this diet. Cant believe i've stuck to it 100% so far. I usually give up on day 1 and order a curry 😂

Kittensgalore · 03/01/2019 09:45

Hi Jarvis, Headache is completely usual, some times referred to as ketoflu, day 2/3/4. Lots of water and pain killers help in my experience. Not sure about period but seems likely it might be linked. Well done on not ordering a curry! Starting to feel hungry now, need to plough on through the next couple of days until I stop feeling hunger pains. I struggle to drink the correct amount of water. I ordered the exante water flavourings which are fab but parcel not turned up yet. Should have arrived yesterday, hopefully it will show up today.

Eliza9917 · 03/01/2019 09:46

@dayman lucky you! Mine ran out but I had a packet of the batteries in the drawer and couldn't help replacing it.

Eliza9917 · 03/01/2019 09:48

The period thing is because fat cells hold on to oestrogen and as you lose weight they release it which messes with your system.

Littlemissdaredevil · 03/01/2019 13:27

Hello everyone I’m doing Cambridge. I started at 13st and want to get to 9st (I’m short)

Littlemissdaredevil · 03/01/2019 13:31

I’m a daily weigher. I think in the first week or two you need to see the weight going down to stay motivated. I’m guessing over the next week I will try to stop daily weighing

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 03/01/2019 17:32

Eliza9917 ah ha! Finally found a reason why being disorganised is a benefit hahaha

I do understand the urge though, but if you can still it for 1 week without weighing, the big chunk loss really spurs you on!

Day 3 coming to a close, still have my 200kcal meal and a shake (which I'm going to have at the cinema). Not done as well on the water today, currently at 2100ml, need to finish another bottle at least!

DayManChampionOfTheSun · 03/01/2019 17:37

How is everyone else getting on today?
