Hi everyone!

I’m starting a VLCD (Slim and Save) on 1st Jan and wondering is anyone starting too? Or Cambridge, Exabte etc and maybe we could keep each other motivated?

@DivisionBelles if you're on exante you would get away with having some meat, green beans, cabbage etc, the sort of veg 'allowed' or would that be frowned upon?

Eliza9917 · 02/04/2019 09:35

@DivisionBelles Its better to start after because once you break it, its so easy to say oh this one little thing wont hurt then its a slippery slope. And why I've not been able to get back on it since last year.

I made it through day 1 though, pretty much. I had a shake at 12 & 4 and then for dinner I had chicken & leek soup and I added 200cal of chicken breast to it. They have/are changed/changing the guidelines to 4 packs a day (so 800cals now3) so I thought the chicken would be ok while I get in to ketosis and and then am not hungry.

Eliza9919 · 03/04/2019 14:11

Completed day 2 with only a tiny slip, I had 3 shakes and then I stayed up too late so was really hungry so I had 3 olives (47 calories accordign to google) and 5 silverskin picked onions (

Littlemissdaredevil · 04/04/2019 07:04

I lost 2.5 stone since New Year on the Cambridge diet. However over the past 2 weeks I’ve barely lost 2lbs!

Eliza9919 · 04/04/2019 08:54

I had a really good day yesterday :) I had 3 milkshakes and nothing else. I was 1lb up this morning though!!! I think it's probably because I didn't drink enough water, so upping my water today.

Eliza9919 · 04/04/2019 13:45

What do you all drink? On the exante fb page they reckon you can only drink certain diet fizzy drinks because some contain citric acid, which can affect ketosis.

Whenever I've done atkins/low carb before, I always drank diet coke and lemonade, and it didn't seem to affect much. But this is ketosis through low calorie, not low carb and the tiniest things seem to affect my losses.

My mouth does not taste great and my work supply cans of coke/diet coke and i'm really tempted!

BishopBrennansArse · 04/04/2019 16:37

One can of Coke Zero a week

Eliza9919 · 04/04/2019 16:56

One a week! I used to drink several cans of diet coke a day but had to wean myself off it. Now I drink diet lemonade but have stuck to water only for a few weeks. I know diet dr pepper is supposed to be safe. I might get some of those and have 1 a day, along with an oxo if needed.

Eliza9919 · 04/04/2019 21:06

2 shakes today and the spag bol for dinner. It was vile. Envy

BishopBrennansArse · 05/04/2019 07:13

Worcester sauce improves both spag Bol and shepherds pie massively

Eliza9919 · 05/04/2019 17:22

I added garlic powder, oregano, basil & rosemary, s&p, chilli flakes and Frank's buffalo wings sauce and it was still horrible Grin

I'm sooooooooooooo hungry.

I want to go out too, been googling calories in alcohol Blush

Eliza9919 · 05/04/2019 17:23

I'm half a stone down since last week though so I don't want to ruin it.

Trying to stay strong but the fight is hard GrinGrin

BishopBrennansArse · 05/04/2019 19:11

I wouldn't have booze unless
You have carbs first, can be dangerous.

I'm 2.5 stone down today.

Eliza9919 · 06/04/2019 14:46

I went out.

I only had vodka & soda waters.

I didn't eat crap after, I went to bed instead.

Didn't wake up and eat rubbish either, I've had a green tea & a bar.

Craving a salad or nando's now though.

DivisionBelles · 08/04/2019 07:52

Ok, so today's the day.

I've not had breakfast and am going to save my shake for when I get to work. I've had a quick sip, and it's not bad at all. Feeling quite positive at the moment. I've weighed myself in at a disgusting 14.1 (I'm only 5.3, so that is way, way too heavy) and my waist is 97cm.

I drink quite a lot of water, so I don't think that part of it will be a problem. DD is home from uni for the week, so her and DH are taking over the cooking this week so I can have minimal contact with food.

I hope to be able to lose at least 1/2stone over the next two weeks, more would be great though Wink. Onwards and downwards!

Eliza9919 · 08/04/2019 08:55

I'm very similar to you, 5'1 and 14.5 as of Wed last week.

I went on a massive dog walk yesterday and we walked nearly 8 miles - I'm paying for it this morning though!!!

DivisionBelles · 08/04/2019 13:07

Made it to lunch time and just on my 2nd shake now. I have been pretty hungry this morning, not going to lie. Hoping that in a couple of days this will subside though. The Diet Now shakes are actually ok - much better than the Exante meals I tried last time.

Eliza9919 · 09/04/2019 18:51

How are you getting on @DivisionBelles?

DivisionBelles · 09/04/2019 19:11

@Eliza9919 better today. I've not been as hungry thankfully. I've tweaked the plan a bit and I'm having a low cal meal in the evenings but sticking to the shakes for breakfast and lunch. Tonight I had stir fry veg, a bit of sweet chilli sauce and prawns. Came in at under 200 calories and filled me right up too. I also had some celery sticks as a snack at work. 2 days down, 12 to go, then I'm going to try the Fast 800 plan.

Eliza9919 · 09/04/2019 19:27

That's good :)

amysantiagoperalta · 18/04/2019 07:49

Hello all. I am a newbie. I've not managed to read the whole thread but have followed your recent progress with interest.

I have decided that the only thing for me to do is try a VLCD. I am at the end of my tether and I need to take action. My question is which one?

I'm vegetarian and I like to be active - can anyone recommend the best one? I am leaning towards LighterLife but open to suggestions.

Well done all of you so far.

CookPassBabtridge · 18/04/2019 08:14

6 stone now gone in 6 months, I love this way of eating! Got 3 stone until target, it'll probably slow down a bit now.

BishopBrennansArse · 18/04/2019 15:02

Today I got into my size 17 jeans. Not done that in years, I was a 20-22

BishopBrennansArse · 18/04/2019 15:02

Sorry size 16
