Wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me - not overweight but would like to lose a few pounds?
I am 5’ 3” and weigh 9stone. I look ok, but def have lots of wobbly bits despite running and a couple of hiit sessions a week.
Would love to get to 8st 7lb, but my love of wine and salty snacks does not help! Eat mostly healthily apart from this.
Have been using happyscale to weigh every day, managed to get to 8st 11.5lb earlier in the month but now back to where I started 🙄.
Any tips from anyone? First world problem I know!

Can I join? I used to be 8st 3lbs (5ft 4), had two babies and stuck at 8st 13lbs. Managed to get this down to 8.7 which I was happy with mainly through 5:2. But bits were still wobbly and each winter I'd comfort eat, go back up to 8.13 and diet again before my holiday.

Only this winter has been very bad, all my comfy clothes started to feel uncomfy and then we got a summer and I realised none of my clothes fit! I got on the scales to find I was 9.3 which is the heaviest I've been without carrying a baby.

So back on the 5:2, c25k (I'm on week 3) and walking min 8000 steps a day. I lost 3lbs the first week, but I'm premenstrual now so we'll see what happens on the scales tomorrow.

Alicatz66 · 06/07/2018 23:42

I really need to start couch to 5k again !!! .. just need it to cool down a bit ! ..

Thisismyhappyface · 07/07/2018 19:55

Will miss morning weigh in as I am racing, but 10st 1lb this moning- 3lb off this week! Will be mostly due to last week's PMS bloating, but all the right direction!

quackaday · 08/07/2018 08:15

Drum rolll...

1lb lost! (8.9 this morning). Bit annoying as yesterday the scales said 8.6 - but that's why they say don't weigh every day/use a consistent day to weigh from I guess! I had a lovely day yesterday, had gin and tonics and crisps. So if that's made me bloat today, I'll take it. No alcohol
Today but am off to mil's later for a bbq and she's a feeder 😬

Whisperingwinds · 08/07/2018 08:25

1.5 pounds off this week ! We were at a bbq yesterday and lots of food and wine was had so actually plesisrd to see The weight has Stayed off. Am off on holiday next weekend so will weight in before I leave on Friday

butteredbarmbrack · 08/07/2018 08:39

Pleased to see I'm down 0.5kg today (this week 63kg) which isn't bad as various factors (school inset day, visitors staying for a fortnight, heat...!) have meant I've not done my usual exercise. And a last minute opportunity to join a friend with spare ticket for an event yesterday led to alcohol (though not too much, just two drinks!) and crisps for tea. I'll just need to watch that the lack of usual routine over next few weeks, with visitors, end of school events, and holidays, doesn't throw good intentions off too much.

Good luck to others weighing in today!

cathyandclare · 08/07/2018 09:46

1lb off today, think the football wine did for me as was 2.5lb down yesterday- but every little helps!

timeisnotaline · 08/07/2018 09:50

I am going to tag along.just tag as my baby is only 1m but I am 5’ 4’’ like many here and 9 stone 2, which leaves me with 4-5kg to lose (more really as I need to gain muscle). I have a prolapse and am not sure what that means for getting running again so am quite down about that- I will however start with a personal trainer who does postnatal Pilates in a couple of weeks. I’m excited as I’ve never used a pt, although I wish it was with the goal of new fitness pbs not doing a sit up! Obviously I eat all the cake and the wine regularly but in moderation Grin , another reason I am just tagging!

Westwing1 · 08/07/2018 10:58

9st 7.5lbs, lost 3.5 lbs, really pleased, I have been strict, no alcohol, ate mainly fish, veg, salad, lentils, eggs. I don't exercise much, 2 short sessions on x-trainer. I feel better too. I've lost 18lbs since 1st Jan. Once I reach my goal I will weigh weekly and take action if I gain 2lbs, so hard taking action when you've gained 2 stone! Especially after 50. This thread is helping, thanks everyone.

DropZoneOne · 08/07/2018 11:04

2lbs off this week! I'm very happy with that. It brings me to my "usual" point of needing to shift an extra few pounds.

I've got a couple of works events this week, so will do 2 fast days to offset them.

beela · 08/07/2018 11:45

62.4kg. I was 61.5kg earlier in the week, on my usual weigh in day, and +/- 1kg wouldn't usually bother me, it's normal fluctuation. However, this thread has made me think and therefore I won't dive into the cake tin and I will make a delicious salad for lunch Smile.

We're going on holiday in 3 weeks, surely I can get down to 60kg by then??

EleanorAbernathy · 08/07/2018 12:39

8 stone 8 exactly this morning! GrinGrin
Very happy with that as I think I drank more gin calories than I saved last night as it was a rare night off at the same time as DH.
I'll be attempting to run this week so hope the weather cools down a bit.

adaisy1394 · 09/07/2018 05:54

Did my ultra yesterday so no weigh in as o was up at 5am and was camping! Will weigh in tomorrow after a day at home today and get back on track. Hopefully the fact I burnt over 7,000 calories yesterday will expedite a loss this week!!!

Thisismyhappyface · 09/07/2018 06:53

Bloody hell, well done daisy
I only did a tri yesterday and the heat was unbearable!
What was your time? Did you enjoy it?

Westwing1 · 09/07/2018 07:19

Congrats adaisy and Thisismyhappyface, no idea how you did it in this heat. Hope you have a lovely quiet day to recover.

Alicatz66 · 09/07/2018 08:41

9.2 today ..., was 9.5 last Monday .. low carbing mainly .. Just need to push onto 8.13

beela · 09/07/2018 09:09

No snacking for me today. Not even when I get hungry and tired at kids tea time!

cathyandclare · 10/07/2018 08:20

I'm home alone, so doing a couple of strict days. Another lb down so far it's very slow and boring, when I was in my twenties i'd have been half a stone down by now! It's tricky cos at 5ft 3 and 50 my TDEE is depressingly low. Keeping on keeping on though...

Westwing1 · 10/07/2018 10:35

Hi cathyandclare, I will join you in a couple of strict days (not alone though, feeding among others a teenage boy who constantly has his head in the fridge). My period is due and I have already gained back a half pound despite just a boiled egg, chicken and veg yesterday. I will do my half hour on x-trainer, lots of veg and 2 mackerel fillets my one meal, will try and dump the Shloer for water and lemon. Proud I have finally stopped guzzling white wine though. I will also mop floors which I haven't done since the heat came. I like being 50 in the main but unfortunately everything they say about weight gain on the middle is true. I think the NHS should send a frank letter to every 48 year old female saying just half your calories now, the 2,000 a day malarky is not for you anymore.

quackaday · 11/07/2018 10:03

This football is threatening to derail me! And I don't even like football

Been invited over to a friends tonight to watch the game with all the DC - should be festive and fun but whilst I can easily avoid drinking I'm not sure I can avoid snacking!

On a 'plus' - DH is away all of next week so I can be extremely strict with myself. Or it could all go to hell in a handcart

LilaGrace · 11/07/2018 11:55

Hello! I'm so glad to have found this thread- I'm in the same position as many posters here, including the OP. I'm 5'3 and weigh 9st 5lb. Goal weight is 8st 7lb, though I know that's not sustainable. I'd be delighted with 8st 11lb. I've always found the 1000cal a day diet the best for me, but I'm also going to try the 8 hour window idea too. I'm going to New York in 6 weeks and really want to have lost at least 5lb by then.
I'm weighing myself on Monday mornings as I find that the easiest day to start eating healthily again.

Westwing1 · 12/07/2018 12:03

How is everyone doing? I ate a bag of crisps and had 3 glasses of wine (I blame the extra time for making me crack) last night. Back on the straight and narrow today. Didn't particularly enjoy them which is a relief, think I have finally broken that habit. Been going through my wardrobe, size 12s comfortable now, some size 10s fit too. Gave bag of size 14s to charity shopGrin. I will weigh in on Saturday morning as going on hols then.

Whisperingwinds · 12/07/2018 13:08

I cracked during the match yesterday and had nachos with sour cream - my weakness. Have laid off any alcohol though. I will weigh in tomorrow before I head to airport for my holidays and the goal over the holidays is to maintain - back on the straight from today again.

Alicatz66 · 12/07/2018 14:40

I'm doing ok this week ... not snacking, cutting the sugar and carbs .. have kept alcohol!!! Haven't exercised other than my 10000 steps and doing stairs at work ... had a Chinese in football.. but chicken satay with no rice .... going out tonight but have ordered tapas meatballs for starter and halloumi salad for main ... 4 pounds off since Monday 2nd .... need to stay strong at weekend as following weekend is my birthday and 2 dinners and a cream tea occurring !!down from 9.5 to 9.1

quackaday · 13/07/2018 07:37

Whispering I had nachos as well! But that was in lieu of dinner, and we used half fat sour cream...clutching at straws here! I had ONE beer.

So far though I've been pretty good this week (nachos aside) but I did find yesterday as it was a bit cooler, my appetite came back with force and it was really difficult to stay on the straight and narrow. Weighed 8.8 today - started at 8.10. 8.7 is a sticking point for me so I'd really like to crack that - as in I have dropped to 8.7 before with being strict, but struggle to drop any further (apart from when I did the body coach but that was different)
