Wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me - not overweight but would like to lose a few pounds?
I am 5’ 3” and weigh 9stone. I look ok, but def have lots of wobbly bits despite running and a couple of hiit sessions a week.
Would love to get to 8st 7lb, but my love of wine and salty snacks does not help! Eat mostly healthily apart from this.
Have been using happyscale to weigh every day, managed to get to 8st 11.5lb earlier in the month but now back to where I started 🙄.
Any tips from anyone? First world problem I know!

I'm going to commit myself here - no more than 2000 calories a day from today. It seems high but I'm breastfeeding so hopefully will still see a loss with this - I have been doing 2500+ kcal most days and weight has plateaued despite working out 5-6 days a week and walking 10k steps carrying a 14lb baby 🤦🏻‍♀️

Current weight is 9st2. I only have 7lbs to lose (10 would be ideal but I don't want to set the bar too high), want to be able to do it in 7 weeks if poss!!

EleanorAbernathy · 11/10/2018 01:22

I batch cook and freeze stuff, ans normally freeze after a few days apart from my chilli which seems to last longer (must be the spices!)

I hope I'm not speaking too soon here, but I had a mirena coil fitted a couple of weeks ago and ever since I seem to have stopped craving food all the time! It's highly odd, especially for me - but it's like I'm eating when I'm meant to rather when I want to, and managing fine without snacks, even forgotten meals as I've not been thinking about it?! I've been taking my normal snacks to work with me just in case I go back to normal but not eating them nor wanting them. I'll be 8 stone 6 in about a week at this rate! Grin

I wonder if it was actually the combined pill making me crave food all the time rather than the coil killing my appetite?

Galvantula · 02/12/2018 15:30

Hi vanity pounders... How is everyone?

Thought I'd hunt down the thread as a bit of motivation. I put on almost 3lb on holiday in October by eating all the things, with abandon and have now started to lose them again.

So annoyed with myself! But trying to just crack on with some better weeks.

Daisyhere · 02/12/2018 16:39

All.. Its hard to be good on holiday..and in the run up to christmas for that matter 😊. I seem to have had an unconyrollable sugar bing lately! Hmmm..did wonder if anyone had tried red tea for detox....someone mentioned it at work and i found this website..: reviewsforgreat.health.blog. anyone tried it before? Im not sure whether to get it?

Winealot · 11/02/2019 19:39

Thought I’d try and resurrect this thread that I started last summer.
Well, I’m..........9 stone!!!
Was up to 9 st 6 after Christmas and felt awful but it was thoroughly deserved.
My goal remains the same 8st 7lb.....am in a good frame of mind right now, determined not to leave it until the weather gets better before I address it.
Hopefully some of you from before are around or any new people in the same (vain) boat 😂

OP posts:
cathyandclare · 11/02/2019 20:22

I'm still here! I was 9'2 after Xmas, which is a stone above my lowest weight and about half a stone above where I feel good.

Usually, if I'm strict and exercise, I can reliably lose weight. But I think I'm perimenopausal, my waist has thickened and it has been a massive challenge to lose a few pounds. For a month, I was super-strict low carb and exercising like a mad-woman with very little response. I've started 16.8 fasting too, and am now down to 8'11.

Hopefully on my way now. I just don't want to get to the stage where I gain half a stone a year ( or more) because at 5 ft 3 it really shows.

Winealot · 11/02/2019 22:16

Hi, glad I’m not all alone! Think I’m perimenopausal too and I have noticed my waist has thickened despite the scales being the same.
It’s so depressing, but I won’t let it beat me!
Had an induction at a gym a couple of weeks ago, haven’t signed up yet but thinking that may be the way to go to raise my metabolism a bit and improve my shape.
Well done on the loss so far!

Eattothebeat · 12/02/2019 07:55

Glad to see this resurrected! I am 9 stone 2 pounds at 5 ft 7 and I won't be happy until I get to my favourite weight which is 8 stone 10 pounds. I too am heading into the peri menopause and it's definitely harder to shift the weight but I am going to keep battling away as I feel so much happier and more confident when I'm at my ideal weight. I am avoiding white carbs and trying to move more.

Westwing1 · 12/02/2019 14:54

I'm here too! So weird, I literally just decided now was a good time to get back to it and here is the thread resurrected. I have had a tough start to the year, everyone in the family taking it in turns to be ill. I think we have turned a corner now so ready to knuckle down. I will weigh tomorrow morning but I suspect I have 7 - 10 lbs to lose.

Winealot · 13/02/2019 12:31

Glad to see there are a few of us around!
Feeling a bit fed up today, sometimes it feels like such a slog to get these pesky pounds off - fighting the feeling of ‘does it really matter in the scheme of things’.....
But then I imagine wearing a bikini and figure it does matter! Want it gone overnight with no hard work 🙄

oneyearnobeer · 16/02/2019 06:12

Can I join? Wasn't on the original thread but trying to get back to 63kg from topping out at 69kg and currently hanging around in the 66kg vicinity. I do a lot of exercise so really it should just be a matter of curbing the worst excesses. Unfortunately moderation isn't my strong point. Motivation is a race I'm doing in May as the extra half stone really isn't going to help.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 16/02/2019 06:25

Can I join in? Am about a fortnight into being motivated to keep below 1000kcals apart from one day off a week (very sedentary at the moment) and no drinking, have been bouncing around the 10stone mark but with no muscle really, am most happy toned and weighing in at around 9stone 3/4lbs so need to shift some flab a bit below that then tone up again

Weighed in at 9st 12.5 a week ago so I have a good 8lbs to loose but mainly want to fit into my nicer clothes again...am 5’9” but small framed

millionaireshortie · 19/02/2019 07:46

@IJumpedAboardAPirateShip how did you find the motivation? I'm really struggling with that and weight has crept to 9 stone (I'm short). I need to go below 1000 cals for decent enough calorie deficit to lose 1-2 pounds a week but can't keep away from bread and odd bits of junk at the moment. Struggling to find the motivation! Any tips gratefully received!

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 19/02/2019 15:37

Well despite being highly motivated I don’t seem to be losing any weight so I’m going to change it up and go back to daily 1200 + 2 fast days a week

One thing that helped was each week having a cheat day to look forward to that was normally because we were going out for dinner and it’s hard to count those calories

Eattothebeat · 19/02/2019 16:45

It's sooo hard isn't it. Food is so nice and exercise isn't. I'm not weighing until after my period now as if I see numbers I don't like on the scales I feel like throwing the towel in. If only I could get this last pesky seven pounds off I'd be a very happy woman.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 19/02/2019 17:32

That’s what’s so frustrating, it’s only 7 bloody pounds!!

millionaireshortie · 19/02/2019 19:04

That is indeed the most frustrating ridiculous thing about it all - 7 pounds is nothing yet it's not going to drop off without consistent clean, careful eating. If we could just get the job done we'd feel amazing! Urghh!

Winealot · 23/02/2019 11:13

Nice to see a few more of us! It’s been half term here this week, have realised that it all goes to pot when the kids are off....not so easy to exercise and out of a routine seems to mean I eat more 🙄.
I had been doing well and was in the zone but have lost the plot the last couple of days.
Have worked out that from Monday it’s 5 and half weeks until they break for Easter and I’m going to go all out to get this half a stone off!!
MFP and daily weighing seems to be what works for me, although find logging everything tedious but it does stop the mindless picking.
Will post results regularly so I’m accountable here too. X

@Winealot routine is key for me too. Is it really only 5 or so weeks until they're off again?! I'm with you then - let's get 7 pounds off by then! I have a holiday approaching in May and need to crack on! Have been totally on it yesterday and today - what works for me is to cut out grains and sugar completely, so it's naturally lower carb but I don't monitor carbs from fruit & veg - the more fruit & veg the better.

We can do this!! Think I might weigh in tomorrow morning. Trip to the gym also planned tomorrow!

Winealot · 25/02/2019 09:56

Yep Millionaire, only 5 weeks 🙄.
Didn’t weigh this morning as have eaten and drank far too much over the weekend so I suspect I’m over 9 stone now! Going to weigh in a couple of days but until then I’m on it with healthy eating.
Have just been for a 5 mile run so a good start.
And back in a routine means no alcohol until the weekend which in turn means less snacking!!
Here we go again.......

millionaireshortie · 25/02/2019 10:57

Good on you for the run! I weighed today and am 8.13. Was 9.1 before the weekend. So nice to see the number 8 again!! Day has started off well. Will weigh again Fri morning and report back :) Have a good week!

Winealot · 26/02/2019 07:53

Braved the scales this morning - 9 st 1.75.......am cross with myself as I was 8st 13 before half term.
My own fault, hopefully a few bloaty pounds will come off this week!

OP posts:
millionaireshortie · 26/02/2019 16:24

I've done amazing for 3 days but caved and just ate a hot cross bun 😞 Straight back on it. Aiming for 8.12 by Fri. Good luck! Tipping over 9 stone was what did it for me. Feel like I've finally got the mindset.

Winealot · 01/03/2019 08:16

Weighed in at 8st 12.5lb this morning......seems that the half term overindulgence was indeed a lot of bloat.
Has given me the impetus to keep going and am aiming for another 4lbs off by the end of March.
How is everyone doing?
