Wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me - not overweight but would like to lose a few pounds?
I am 5’ 3” and weigh 9stone. I look ok, but def have lots of wobbly bits despite running and a couple of hiit sessions a week.
Would love to get to 8st 7lb, but my love of wine and salty snacks does not help! Eat mostly healthily apart from this.
Have been using happyscale to weigh every day, managed to get to 8st 11.5lb earlier in the month but now back to where I started 🙄.
Any tips from anyone? First world problem I know!

Went out for tasting menu at v posh restaurant, so feeling v bloated. Missed out the bread and anything heavy but otherwise indulged. Can't face the scales. Although was 8'10 before. Will weigh again after a few strict days.

millionaireshortie · 02/03/2019 11:17

@cathyandclare it might not have made much difference - post your weigh in in a few days! I'll weigh Monday. I've planned out every single meal for the coming week. Absolutely have to get 6 pounds off in March!!

rosewater20 · 06/03/2019 08:54

I'd like to join, please! I am 5'4, and 9.2 stone and I would like to be 8.2. I have a holiday for the first two weeks of April and would like to be 4-5lbs off by then. Not sure if that is doable? I am counting calories for the first time by using MFP, and I have been surprised by how little things add up. I have also been back to the gym with cardio and weights.

cathyandclare · 06/03/2019 09:04

Hi there! Sounds doable :) I managed to pile on 5lb on my meal out (usually low carb, so it's mostly fluid but I look and feel bloated.) So I'm on another thread doing a mad three day egg fast to get into my ski pants for tomorrow!

Will be back to sensible stuff when I come back from my trip next Tuesday. 2.5lb down and the other 2.5 to go. Little bit over-egged though!

Winealot · 08/03/2019 07:20

Feeling a bit demotivated today......after weighing in all week at between 8st 11 and 8st 12.5, today I am 9 stone!!!
My period started yesterday and I did eat a fairly heavy meal last night at gone 8.30 so am hoping it’s just that.
Got to keep going 🙄.
How’s everyone else doing? X

rosewater20 · 09/03/2019 00:51

I was feeling good at the first start of the week and pretty smug about eating 1,200 calories and not feeling hungry. But now my period is about to start, and I am tired (so not at the gym) and wanting to eat a lot of food. Trying to stick to protein to fill me up and making homemade banana muffins tonight (without sugar and gluten-free) as a treat. Haven't weighed myself yet, will do that on Monday.

Winealot · 14/03/2019 07:54

How is everyone doing? I feel absolutely rubbish, weekend wasn’t good at all - too much of everything and now I’m 9st 1.5lb despite being golden all week. Normally I would see the scales dropping a couple of pounds just from this......
I can’t have put on 3 lbs from a bad weekend can I?!
Started back at my hiit class last week, maybe it’s that? Clutching at straws......I won’t let this beat me 🙄

It's so hard when you've only a small amount to lose isn't it winealot ? After months and months of losing and regaining the same few pounds, and being hardcore at low carb and exercise since new year, the scales are finally moving. I'm now down to 8'7 so 9 lb off.

It's been a bloody battle this time. Very very slow. In the end I did one three day egg fast ( madness but short) and that kicked things off, I've continued to lose even with a ski trip for a few days. Ideally I'd like another 3 or 4 pounds off.

cathyandclare · 16/03/2019 07:26

Just to say, I think that part of the slowness with me was water retention from DOMS after new HIIT classes. I think my body's used to it now and less achy. Do that could just be fluid from muscle soreness.

Winealot · 16/03/2019 08:25

Well done Cathyandclare, that’s brilliant progress.
I am still stuck at 9st 1.5lb despite a 5000 calorie deficit this week.....I hop on the scales every day and not an ounce off 🙄.
Can only put it down to DOMS - I am aching like a bitch from the hiit classes!
Will keep plodding on and fingers crossed things will start to shift again.

Well done @cathyandclare!
I just weighed myself today, and I am at 8.9 st so about 4.4lbs off. I ended up coming down with a bad cold last week and didn't have an appetite for about a week so I attribute the loss to that, and I am hoping it doesn't all come back now that I am feeling better. I am away on a work trip next week, and I am nervous about keeping the calories down because I will have multiple lunches and dinners out with clients. I am then leaving next weekend on a 2.5 week holiday in Europe and again nervous about gaining weight back and hoping that the weather is nice enough to be out walking a lot and I will also take my resistance bands with me to get a little body weight workout in too. Any advice on eating well while travling?

millionaireshortie · 21/03/2019 13:11

Are any of you calorie counting? Just wondering what calorie intake you are sticking at to lose weight?

Well done for reaching 8.9 - that's incredible!

I'm hovering at 8.12 - can't seem to shift - have been doing a lot of weight training and wonder if that's why the scales aren't moving down.

Winealot · 21/03/2019 15:06

I’m stuck too Millionaire, but on 9st 1!! Since I started doing my HIIT (with weights) classes again 3 weeks ago, I have put weight on and can’t shift it!! Am still running and calorie counting but nothing dropping off.
I do calorie count, try to stick to no more than 1200 per day mon - Thursday, it’s more at the weekend but I’m not going mad and my Fitbit showing I burn an average of 2300 a day so I can’t understand why nothing is happening.
Have to confess I’m feeling really fed up with it all and on the verge of saying sod it!!
Also and this is tmi but I am so constipated - do you reckon this could have an effect on loss?
Well done everyone else who seems to be doing great! X

@millionaireshortie, I do calorie count and try to stick to 1,200 per days. Some days I go a little bit over and some under. It has made me far more mindful about my eating, and I notice that I am now filling up on healthy proteins and lots of green salads (with things like sugar snap peas, radishes, broccoli, etc.). I had realised that while I was eating healthy before, my portion sizes were much too big and I was also wasting calories but eating things like chia seeds and having a glass of wine with dinner.

@Winealot I think your constipation is a huge part of it. What are you eating? And how much water are you drinking?

Winealot · 21/03/2019 18:31

Rosewater20, I drink loads of water as I don’t have tea or coffee so probably in the region of 2.5-3 litres a day.
Diet is perhaps slightly carb heavy (feel like I need some due to the exercise) and if I’m being honest sometimes not as much fruit and veg as I should have.
Have you any tips for fibre rich food that might get things moving?!
Many thanks and well done on the loss. X

I've never suffered but eat a lot of broccoli, asparagus, cucumber, lettuce, apple which are probably pretty good. Small portion of brown rice daily might help. Sorting that will definitely help with weight loss

Winealot · 21/03/2019 22:32

Thank you Millionaire, think I need to up the green intake! X

OP posts:
rosewater20 · 23/03/2019 07:57

@Winealot. Yes, I second eating lots of greens. I would also suggest getting your carbs from quinoa which should help with constipation. Also, ginger tea or a cup of coffee might do the trick!

millionaireshortie · 23/03/2019 21:08

Oh yes - a cup of coffee is always helpful Wink

I'm going to try the low calorie route this week - I'm short so 850 or so cals isn't actually all that low for me but very inspired by the fast 800 thread and need to get things moving. I have a holiday looming!

Good luck this week all of you x

goingonabearhunt1 · 24/03/2019 11:14

Can I join? I'm in healthy BMI range but a bit heavier round the middle than I want to be. I want to lose about 4 lbs. winealot you can try drinking prune juice, I used to that sometimes when constipated (you can buy it in tesco) or just eat a couple of prunes or figs Grin coffee works as well, as ppl have said above.
