Wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me - not overweight but would like to lose a few pounds?
I am 5’ 3” and weigh 9stone. I look ok, but def have lots of wobbly bits despite running and a couple of hiit sessions a week.
Would love to get to 8st 7lb, but my love of wine and salty snacks does not help! Eat mostly healthily apart from this.
Have been using happyscale to weigh every day, managed to get to 8st 11.5lb earlier in the month but now back to where I started 🙄.
Any tips from anyone? First world problem I know!

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1.... I'm doing Couch to 5k and got my first 25 minute run tonight ... re joined gym yesterday ... I was 9.5 this morning .... target is 9.0 which I think ok for my height .. and I need to tone up ... didn't feel good in bikini on holiday ..

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 31/08/2018 14:17

Alicatz ... that's such a good start! I'm finding it difficult to get my fitness mojo back - I've been looking into running watches but they're just a bit out of my price range atm Sad
At my lowest I'm currently 9.4 (early morning!) and I'm looking to get to 8.13 which I believe is a really nice weight for me, personally, at 5'6". What I find difficult is keeping my weigh-in consistent...
Winealot - that's not tooooo bad for holiday weightgain! - If you go back to doing what you were previously, it should just fall off?

Alicatz66 · 31/08/2018 14:41

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimsls1...I'm 5.6 and a half !!! I feel great at 8.13 too ... let's do it together!

tartantroosers · 31/08/2018 14:45

Place marking! 5.5 here and fighting weight is 8.7 but I'm weighing in regularly at 8.11/12. If it starts with a 9 I start to panic. Wine, yes. I do low carb most of the time and never used to put weight on despite this but maybe the dreaded middle age thing has struck!

PuntCuffin · 31/08/2018 18:57

Back to 8.10 this morning but off to a family wedding tomorrow so can pretty much guarantee that it won't last! Looking forward to start of term and being able to start running regularly again.

Galvantula · 02/09/2018 10:03

Still 9 st 3. 🙈

But staying the same for a week or so is a positive, as I've been up and down for months. I'm giving this thread the credit add it's having around in my Threads I'm On reminding me.

Going to stick at it... Maybe even do some exercise.

cathyandclare · 02/09/2018 11:25

I've lost a couple of pounds on holiday ( although still only 3lb down from starting weight because I've been gaining and losing the same few) so 8'9. Feel blobby in my bikini though so definitely need another 4 or 5 off to feel good.

MrPebbles · 02/09/2018 11:49

@cathyandclare that's awesome though! A static weight on holiday is a bonus, but to actually lose is brilliant. Well done 👍🏻

I've had copious amounts of gin this weekend but been really well behaved food wise. Have skipped breakfasts to try and make up for gin calories 😆

Westwing1 · 02/09/2018 12:08

Agreed! Losing weight on holiday is really impressive. I am genuinely surprised to be 8 st 13 this morning. I have been strict admittedly but other weeks I've been strict nothing has happened! I just want to maintain this for a week or two and stop bobbing up and down so much.

MrPebbles · 04/09/2018 06:46

Had a great healthy weekend food wise, clothes were good on. Hadn't weighed myself yet - the overdid some wasabi nuts and dark chocolate last night 🙈. Too scared to get on the scales and see anything that starts with a 9!

Got a lunch on today at work. So will have to forgo dinner to try and make up for it.

I honestly think at this weight and age (nearly 40) anything over 1000/1200 calories results in weight gain. It's tough!

How's it going ladies?

worried1254 · 05/09/2018 09:55

Love to join you all. What have you found works? I think religiously sticking to 1100 calories is the way to go for me. Desperate to go from 8.13 (refuse to see that 9 number!) to 8.

cathyandclare · 05/09/2018 16:37

The only thing that works for me is low carb. It means I can eat more than 1000 calories and have wine. I have to be pretty strict though, as soon as I have milky coffees and too much dark choc I start gaining again.

MrPebbles · 06/09/2018 07:03

Same here - low carb and under 1200 calories. Yet, that seems to maintain rather than lose weight for me. I'm currently doing around 1000 calories and low carb to see if that helps!

I eat a lot of soups and salads, protein shakes instead of lunch, a treat is a mini milk or some dark chocolate. I dream about croissants 😆

Overdoing chocolate and skinny cappuccinos are my Achilles heel. Used to be any chocolate but since eating lesser amounts of dark for a few weeks, I tried some Cadbury's at the weekend and it was vile. Didn't eat it! Tasted like I'd put a sugar cube in my mouth!

Westwing1 · 06/09/2018 09:39

Similar story here, low carb and keeping a rough eye on calories, 1,000 or less. I follow Blood Sugar Diet principles. I am 51 and lazy about exercise. I eat a lot of green veg (practically zero calories, other veg (not potatoes), and fish.

ohgodnotyouagain · 06/09/2018 19:12

I'm going to come back tomorrow and join you all if that's ok?! Smile

Gave birth 4 months ago and have a few pounds that I still need to shift. It came off quickly in the beginning for various reasons but my exercise is now lacking and my calories are increasing. I need to get into good habits now or it will only get worse over winter.

I'm going to get weighed in the morning - think I'll be about 9 stone 8, would love to get down to just under 9 stone.

Pigletpoglet · 08/09/2018 07:03

Creeping off slowly here - down from 10 st 7lb to 10 st and 0.5lb this morning. It's taken 8 weeks! I'm aiming for 9 st 7lbs by Xmas...

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 08/09/2018 07:58

Forgive me fellow losers, for i have sinned. It has been 2 weeks since my last weigh in. I am still 9 st 3.
I confess to wine, fabulous home made brownies and other stuff.
Now only 1 week until my holiday under the critical eye of my mil. Hoping for a final push.
Well done to all who have had far more determination and success than me.

Galvantula · 08/09/2018 10:29

also still 9st 3. i did have a 'time of the month' bloat up to 9st 4 and a bit though so actually quite happy!

Alicatz66 · 08/09/2018 15:31

Oh dear vanity pounders !!!! Holy shit .. I was 9.7 today !! Pure pizza retention ..
Ridding my life of carbs from today and back on the leafy green kale path!!!
Shall report back next week x

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 10/09/2018 09:04

Good luck for this week then Alicatz

PuntCuffin · 10/09/2018 11:31

Back to 8.12 after the wedding and big dinner party this weekend. I have been shifting and gaining the same two pounds forever!

Alicatz66 · 10/09/2018 21:24

Back to 9.3 today .. by a miracle ! No carbs over weekend ... going to stick strictly to low carb with lots of veg. Aiming to be 9.2 by Friday ... then onward to 8.13

Westwing1 · 11/09/2018 07:24

Well done Alicatz, you sound very determined.

cathyandclare · 12/09/2018 10:55

Back from hols and at 8 stone 9, so 3 pounds down from the start. I'm going to an event in two and a half weeks in a verrrrrrrrrry tight dress, so need another 2-3 pounds off ideally or the waist pinching and overflow of back fat/skin is not pretty.

cathyandclare · 12/09/2018 10:55

Well done Alicatz!
