8 weeks to lose a stone

summerslimmer · 19/05/2018 18:52

Who’s up for losing a stone in the next 8 weeks?
I’ve had a terrible year so far- chronic health problems, 2 miscarriages, depression...
In short I’ve gained a lot of weight and really want to lose at least a stone of it before a holiday in July.
Thinking I’m going to try low carb when possible as that seems to suit my body.
No friends to do this with in real life so does anyone want to join me?

Meal suggestions?

I can't have dairy or wheat. Not allergic, just kicks off the IBS and is blinking unpleasant and painful.

My weakness is sugar. I have (as yet undiagnosed) wonky health and sometimes I'll hit the sugar just for the energy hit.

summerslimmer · 20/05/2018 23:20

Red lentil curry is good - filling and high in protein but with no wheat or dairy

Thank you. We like lentils. Will investigate.

Morning all Grin
Am up early for a long work day which will include drinks with clients tonight. I’m planning to not drink alcohol as a: I don’t want to and b: it will lead to a pig out

I’ll post tonight if I’ve abstained, and will be impressed with myself 🤞🤞🤞

Silvertap · 21/05/2018 05:53

Morning all.

So I stuck to yesterday's meal plan, did 15k steps and resisted my downfall - evening tv with cheese and biscuits!

So today:
B - all bran, yoghurt, fruit, OJ and spa tone
L - green bean salad with cheese
T - pasta puttanesca, strawbs and melon.

Doing a lot of gardening today so hoping to get my 10K steps in.

SureIusedtobetaller · 21/05/2018 06:38

Today- bit of low carb (coconut flour) cheese scone plus plain yoghurt with granola to stop it making me gag. Breaktime- banana.
L- oatcakes with cottage cheese and beetroot. Strawberries
D- salmon salad. Olive oil dressing.
Couple of squares of dark choc as treat.

ThrownMuse · 21/05/2018 06:59

Good morning!

My first weigh in puts me at 15.9. Keep telling myself this is ok, it's the last time I will be this weight.

Already been out for my run and also want to hit 10k steps today.

Giving the meal replacement a go today; if they are bleurgh then will switch to MFP.

Long work today with meetings so hopefully will keep distracted.

Good luck everyone!!

Spudina · 21/05/2018 07:02

Me! I have a holiday too and I want to lose 1 stone. Totally doable right?

Loulou0 · 21/05/2018 07:02

Me too please. I'm 11 stone and want to be 10. I'm so good during the week but it all goes out the window at weekends.
Good luck everyone!

legohouse · 21/05/2018 07:21

Count me in please!! 10 stone this morning.... will be fab to be a stone lighter in 8 weeks time Smile. I'm on the Blood Sugar Diet combined with a smaller window of eating ( no food after 7pm ) Lost 3 stone over 2 years but has been creeping back on...oh, stopped the booze too as was getting out of hand Confused... Good luck to us all I say! 😀

milleniumhandandprawn · 21/05/2018 08:04

Wow thrown vvvvv impressed at a pre 7am run!
I shall take that as inspiration to do the same tomorrow!
Weighed in this morning. 13.825.
Target weight 12.7.

I’ve also got new inspiration - m and s have some really lovely clothes atm and I would like to have lost some of the mumtum before their next sale!

My major downfall is after dinner snacking. I can be mega good all day and then literally add half the day’s calories after dinner - toast with peanut butter, biscuits, crisps, even nuts really stack up.
Maybe I should just go to bed!

Gablexy · 21/05/2018 08:08

Can I join you please? I’m 11 stone (having lost half a stone in the last two weeks on Slimming World). I’d like to get down to 10 stone, although I haven’t weighed that for so many years I’m not sure if it’s my ultimate target. Will see how I look and feel when I get there! Feel quite excited to know it IS achievable if I put the work in. Up till recently I’d kind of accepted those kind of weights were out of my reach, but I was just being lazy I think.
Meals today:
B: 2 Weetabix with milk and half a banana
L: Picnic with the kids- salad, chicken, ham
D: Courgetti bolognaise

Gablexy · 21/05/2018 08:09

Oh and huge Granny Smiths for snacks!

Gymntonic · 21/05/2018 08:40

12.3 this morning. I'm 5'11 so 11.7 would be good, 11.0 fantastic.
Been for a quick run and aiming for 1200 calories 😀

harrietm87 · 21/05/2018 08:49

Morning! Hope it's not too late to join! I'm a bridesmaid in early August and need to lose a good chunk of my baby weight before then. Baby born 4 weeks ago!

I'm breastfeeding so obviously don't want to do anything drastic- will be just trying to cut out crap food, eat better generally, and start some gentle exercise. I haven't weighed myself yet but put on 20kg in pregnancy (60kg to 80kg). I was a 10 and now 14-16. Need to be a 12 for this wedding - hope it's realistic!

Badoukas · 21/05/2018 09:04

Ladies! I want to join, let's do this! I gave up a crap but very active job at the end of last year. Have since gained a stone and was already overweight before. Ten weeks til our summer hol in Sardinia, bring on the beach bod! X

ThrownMuse · 21/05/2018 09:27

Don't be too impressed millenium! I'm only on week 3 so it's more walking than running!

Hello to everyone else.

I have had my first shake...lovely but not sure it's going to cut it! I've bought a box of ten so will try for the next few days and see how I feel...but I'm not good with hunger!

MrsMozart · 21/05/2018 09:41

Good morning all! Some good starts Smile

My breakfast is always the same (porridge made with water and protein powder - it's an acquired taste!).

Mid-morning snack probably walnuts, brazil nuts, and a banana.

Lunch is usually salad leaves and ham or chicken.

Afternoon snack is usually my failure...

Dinner will probably be baked potato with something.

I'm working on increasing potassium (ridiculously low according to MFP) and calcium (as that's part of my wonky health).

summerslimmer · 21/05/2018 10:15

Good morning all- hello to the new joiners Smile
Great to know there's a whole group of us doing this together. The 15th july is the 8 week weigh - we can do this!

I'm not a big breakfast eater but I'm finishing off the yoghurts I have left plus a banana and then will start having eggs as suggested.

Lunch will be egg on 1 toast, an apple and a few nuts

Dinner - probably soup

busyboysmum · 21/05/2018 10:19

I'm joining if that's OK?

Starting weight is 76 kg so I am 12 stone which is horrific.

I've got a girls spa weekend coming up on 24th June so I need to drop 1/2 stone at least by then.

My plan is lots of water, celebrity slim which I prefer to Slimfast as it's not as sweet, and a healthy meal for at least the first 2 weeks to cut my intake and shrink my stomach. Lots of water. Only fruit for snacks.

milleniumhandandprawn · 21/05/2018 11:44

Well I’m still impressed thrown!
I’ve been running more myself recently. Have signed myself up to a 10k on 15th June. The furthest I’ve dines previous to this is only 5k so it’s quite a stretch.
The training is going well but this week I’ve lost a bit of motivation. Have just been too knackered!

harriet how old is your dc? I’m breastfeeding too, still through the night as well which isn’t helping the knackered/reaching for sugar moments!
At 18mths DD really should know better!

BiscuitMachine · 21/05/2018 12:54

Afternoon all, good to see so many people here! Muesli and dried fruit for breakfast, now eating a tuna salad. I’m at work, and it is the worst place to be when you are dieting. There is always a full biscuit tin, and usually sweets as well. Tea and biscuits is my weakness (hence my name). I have a banana on my desk to help me avoid mid afternoon bad snacking.

busyboysmum · 21/05/2018 13:49

I've had banana and apple for breakfast. Home made carrot and lentil soup for lunch and snacked on some cherry tomatoes. Lots of water and lots of tea.

I'm good at work - it's when I get home that it all goes wrong for me.

kezzy13 · 21/05/2018 14:11

summerslimmer

I've pinched that pic to use as my screensaver, hope you don't mind!

I would like to join in too if im not too late, I have several stone to lose but would like to try and shed one and a half in the next month

ObiJuanKenobi · 21/05/2018 14:13

I ventured into the gym for the first time in 4 years, managed a solid half an hour and was sooooo hot and knackered but feel great for it.
Breakfast: watermelon and grapes
Lunch: bowl of baked beans and a sprinkle of cheese
Dinner: will be tuna salad

Hoping to get out in the sun this afternoon for a nice walk with the pushchair too.

Thanks all for the thread - great motivation!!
