8 weeks to lose a stone

summerslimmer · 19/05/2018 18:52

Who’s up for losing a stone in the next 8 weeks?
I’ve had a terrible year so far- chronic health problems, 2 miscarriages, depression...
In short I’ve gained a lot of weight and really want to lose at least a stone of it before a holiday in July.
Thinking I’m going to try low carb when possible as that seems to suit my body.
No friends to do this with in real life so does anyone want to join me?

Good luck with that summer, I’ve heard good things about the blood sugar diet. I think you can do it online too.
My weight this morning was 10st 8, I need to get down to 10st to get into the “healthy” category, but ideally would like to get to 9st 7. I had muesli for breakfast (the sugary stuff Blush) but a small portion, and a latte (oops). Plan on something salady for lunch and then a Sunday roast for tea (limited spuds and Yorkshire pudding). To earn this I’m going for a bike ride later and mowing the lawn/weeding. Have a good day all x

Lots of lovely inspiring stories (and some sad ones, too, so Flowers, esp for you, summerslimmer).

I'm stuck in front of the computer today studying (I may also have a slight hangover), so I will weigh tomorrow and sort my meal planning.

I quite like the 5:2 and MFP combo, so that's my manifesto.

Thiswontendwell · 20/05/2018 13:20

Ok
So I'm 87.5 kg
Shock I hadn't weighed myself for a while.
To be really happy I should be about 69kg
Grin
But I think if I could just get near to half way (under 80kg?) over the next few weeks that would be amazing....maybe a bit ambitious?
I have done it before. I was around the 70kg mark for ages and quite happy with that....
Off to drink some water....I don't think I do enough of that.

Nishky · 20/05/2018 13:22

I weighed in at 14.9 today, I would like to be 13 something by the time I go on holiday on August 5th. I have lost two and a half pounds in three weeks, hopefully will lose a bit more quickly.

Am going to Gym and calorie counting

Silvertap · 20/05/2018 13:48

Summerslimmer - we have a lot of eggs in our house for breakfast

biscuit machine I'm exactly the same as you. 10.8 currently. Like to be 10 but at my best at 9.7!!

summerslimmer · 20/05/2018 14:14

Silvertap- eggs for breakfast sounds good- maybe scrambled with tomato, onion and turmeric. How do you have yours?

So I'm going to weigh myself only on sundays and will post on here to keep myself in check.

Have read a little bit about the blood sugar diet and have ordered the book so will try to incorporate that- maybe mixed with a bit of 5:2 and intermittent fasting like 16:8.
My main issues are binging when I feel bad, portion size and snacking (my husband has so many tempting snacks and I have no will power)
I am going to up my steps per day as much as I can and restart a daily 20 mins of yoga
Then once I start losing and feeling fitter maybe try the 7 min hiit workout - I have the app and it looks achievable.
Hope you're all having a good day x

I’m in!
Will weigh in tomorrow, though I’m fairly sure I weigh about 13.7 stone.
My ideal weight is 12.7 (am 6ft). My dream goal is 11.7 - that’s when I look My best best.
Currently I’m still BFing Dd which is the double whammy of being extra hungry and perma knackered.
Need to get a grip though.
I’m 18 months post partum and from several angles still look about 5 month pg :(

bbcessex · 20/05/2018 14:45

I’m in..thanks for the thread OP.

Rooting for us all - and thiswontendwell , what a sad time - I’d love to see you get what you’re aiming for ❤️

I’ve spiralled out of control, food & alcohol wise, but I’ve knuckled down now.

I started Jane Plan two weeks ago and have lost 10lbs.. I was 15st 10lbs though, which at 5’4” is just a tiny bit on the heavy side 😱😱😱😱😜

My happy weight is 12st 7lb so that’s my goal.

Good luck all ❤️

Heartshapedfairylights · 20/05/2018 14:47

Hello all!
Been to Tesco this morning and have bought Ultra Slim stuff 3 for £10.
Probably not the best way to lose weight but I almost feel like I can’t trust myself with real food. Going to use it as a kick start.
I weighed in at 12 1/2 stone this morning which is shocking for my 5’ 2” frame.
Ready to start tomorrow.

summerslimmer · 20/05/2018 15:35

bbcessex- wow what a great start for you.
Hearshapedfairylights- keep us posted with how it goes- I'm very tempted by slimfast type shakes for the same reason.

Summer shimmer I just have a poached egg on toast. Nothing fancy!!

ThrownMuse · 20/05/2018 16:43

Heart what's the Ultra Slim? Is it have 2 a day and a low cal meal once a day?

Am also tempted...

Mumathon · 20/05/2018 17:45

OK, my weight today is 73.5kg, started at 79kg four weeks ago.
I would like to get somewhere into the mid-high 50s I think. Have moved from the obese category to the overweight one so can’t wait til I tip into healthy!

Tansie1 · 20/05/2018 20:34

I'm on the Michael Mosley blood sugar diet.

It's early days (Day 6!) but I've lost 6.5lbs in 6 days.

The thing about it is you really do need to have a grasp of the science behind it, so you need to read the book. There are a couple of good FB support pages, including some with recipes available.

Good luck, all.

Heartshapedfairylights · 20/05/2018 21:26

Thrown it’s Tesco version of Slim Fast. Two shakes and a meal. Cheap and cheerful (well, maybe not when you’re doing it!) but a kick start.
I’m so fat! Just looking at my muffin top in the mirror is spurring me on!

Wobbleton · 20/05/2018 21:41

Hiya mind if I join in too?

I have ultra slim in the cupboard and have just ordered the blood sugar book, I have a event on sat so hoping the meal replacement shakes will reduce the bloat and are still in date then once the book gets here will follow to get rid of some wobble before holiday in Oct. will weigh in the morning but it's around 3 stone to lose. Confused

ThrownMuse · 20/05/2018 22:00

Heart thank you. I'm going to luck start with those. I need a solid loss to motivate me!

And I hear you on the muffin top....I carry all my weight around my middle and look like an egg on legs.

Wobble I'm weighing in the morning too.

ObiJuanKenobi · 20/05/2018 22:07

I'm sooo up for this!!
Start weight 13st 13lbs Blush
Height only 5ft2 so I'm currently a chubby little ball Grin
My excuse has been having twins and very demobilising pre eclampsia before I had them but they've just turned 2 so definitely can't use the pregnancy weight as an excuse anymore. Getting married this year and desperate to shift 4 stone by October. This would be a great start!

summerslimmer · 20/05/2018 22:07

Hello and welcome to all the new joiners. Tomorrow is the day - let's have a great start to the week and next Sunday hopefully we'll all be weighing in having lost a pound or two.
I hear you with the muffin top- when I'm slimmer I am fairly well proportioned but at this weight I'm a total apple

Thiswontendwell · 20/05/2018 22:17

Soooo
I bought a really neat potato peeler thing that actually makes little julienne strips so I could do nice salady stuff with carrots, courgettes etc. And I've cut myself on it!!!! My finger has finally stopped bleeding but it's a bit sore
And my DS insisted we had a Sunday dinner.....
Really living up to my name.....

Ah well - proper start tomorrow

I'm definitely going to give the BloodSugar diet a go - the book is less than £3.50 to download onto a Kindle btw. And you get it instantly!
Bedtime reading.....

user1469751309 · 20/05/2018 22:22

Can I join please weighed today for the first time in months and actually had a little cry afterwards none of my clothes fit and I hate being in photos even with my kids as I look pigging awful I am 10 1/8 but I am v v v short and my mobility is a bit crap as I'm in a wheelchair but I have to do this for my own self worth! Goodluck everyone we can do this I hope

MrsMozart · 20/05/2018 22:27

Well. Day 1 really not so grand.

Hm.

Am annoyed with self. I seem to have lost the plot. I will find it again.

I forgot to weigh this morming, but yesterday was 12st 12lbs. I'd like to get to 10st / 10st 7lbs. I've cracked a rib so exercise is limited (have osteoporosis so have to try not to fall when already slightly cracked). Doing a load of decorating, which is a reasonable workout for now.

Good luck all! We can do this.

FiveShelties · 20/05/2018 22:38

Right here I am reporting a start weight of 10st 8.4 pounds. I would like to be 9st12lbs in eight weeks.

I am going to log every single thing on MFP and aim for an average of 11000 steps per day. Oh! - most importantly I am going to stop drinking alcohol every day. Have got into some very bad habits over the past year.

Have a fantastic week everyone. Grin

SureIusedtobetaller · 20/05/2018 22:53

Can I join?
Crept up to around 69kg, am short and feel good around 62 ish. Not loads but none of my clothes fit.
Going Mediterranean- cutting out refined sugar, lowish carbs, loads of salad, veg, good fats. I’ve done it before and kept it off ages but it’s crept back on.
Tomorrow I start!

summerslimmer · 20/05/2018 23:07

Okay, so we all know our starting points (or will do in the morning). Sleep well everyone and let's make tomorrow a successful one. I look forward to the updates.

8 weeks to lose a stone
