8 weeks to lose a stone

summerslimmer · 19/05/2018 18:52

Who’s up for losing a stone in the next 8 weeks?
I’ve had a terrible year so far- chronic health problems, 2 miscarriages, depression...
In short I’ve gained a lot of weight and really want to lose at least a stone of it before a holiday in July.
Thinking I’m going to try low carb when possible as that seems to suit my body.
No friends to do this with in real life so does anyone want to join me?

I've had a really good couple of days and DH has just come home with a 'pre Father's Day feast' for us to eat whilst watching a movie after the kids go to bed

  • 1 chocolate orange
  • 1 packet of cookies
  • 2 big bags of popcorn
  • 1 big bag of crunchie rocks
  • 2 double deckers

I'm really cross, he knows how hard I'm trying and I know I'll give in to some of it! What a wanker Grin

Dottydoodoo · 16/06/2018 21:46

Oh no obijuan!! I would be annoyed too as I would probably (definitely) demolish all of that lot. Especially the chocolate orange and double deckers! Stay strong, we can do this Grin

Start weight 13st14
27/05 13st 10
03/06 13st 8.5
10/06 13st 7.5
17/06 13st 6.5

Another pound gone (I thought it was going to be more but have serious period bloating today)
Getting there slowly now but wish things would speed up.
21 weeks yesterday until my wedding and I want to be 11 st by then! This is harder than I first expected.

user1469751309 · 17/06/2018 11:05

1 1/2 pounds off for me today just seems so painfully slow! Also as its Father's Day I will be having a cheat meal as my OH is cooking and would feel guilty to refuse his efforts he never cooks normally! Why now

Gymntonic · 17/06/2018 11:46

Two pounds off for me so 5 1/2 in total so far.
My scales are supposed to measure body fat too but don't seem very accurate; they vary by a couple of percentage points simply by stepping on and off. Might look to invest in a new set as I think tracking body fat will help me focus on exercise and toning up now I'm a healthy BMI and weight loss is slow. Any recommendations?

summerslimmer · 17/06/2018 12:10

Hi all, well done on all the losses. I'm not going to weigh this week as I'm still away and pretty sure it's not good news. However next week will be a different story :)

Argh I put on a pound. I’ve just not been doing it this week. Head not on the right place, and I’ve just been too busy to not take the quick and unhealthy options. This was me eating as I would normally. Just think, if I were to do this all the time I would have put on 52lb in a year Shock This is despite dog walking, horse riding and cycling this week. There’s no hope!
But well done to everyone else, you are all doing so well! I’m getting back in the zone, using you all as inspiration x

Thiswontendwell · 18/06/2018 07:21

83 kg this morning!
Quite incredible given the holiday excess - I was just trying not to put any on since last time but I appear to have lost another kilo or so.
The (semi) BSD is certainly the way to go for me....
Hope everyone has a good week - keep going, it will be worth it!

tava63 · 18/06/2018 12:47

1.5 lbs off for me at SW weigh in ….. a very slow process so unlikely to make the stone off in 8 weeks but if I keep a steady loss I'm happy given I want to lose 2 stone by end of year!

milleniumhandandprawn · 18/06/2018 14:35

Hi all!
Well done on all of the losses!

We did our big run on Friday evening - 10k on a horribly hilly course. We both finished though so am really pleased with that!

It did mean that I’ve been horribly hungry and tired all weekend though and have definitely over indulged.
Especially with a massive bbq for Father’s Day yesterday!

I’m therefore moving my weigh in day to Friday - so I came repair some of the damage and not depress myself 😁
Have a great day everyone!

DaffoDeffo · 18/06/2018 15:27

yes I'm also moving my weigh in day due to weekend away Blush

Tansie1 · 18/06/2018 20:19

I always think weigh-in day should be a Friday. Who needs the possible over- indulgence of Sat & Sun to evidence themselves on a Monday??

DaffoDeffo · 19/06/2018 07:28

I weighed myself this morning and in total, I have lost 3kg since we started. I'm delighted as I have done almost no exercise the last 4 days (having done something almost every day for the weeks before then). Unfortunately I have to stay in today for a delivery (again!) but am hoping to get to gym once they've been so I kickstart the exercise as I think the double effort of eating less and exercising has helped!

have around 3kg to go!

milleniumhandandprawn · 19/06/2018 09:00

deffo that’s brilliant! Well done 👍👍👍👍

tansie I’m officially changing my weigh in day to Friday. Monday’s are already crap enough 😬

BiscuitMachine · 21/06/2018 09:09

Millenium well done on the 10k, and Daffo on the weight loss, brilliantSmile
I’ve being doing ok so far this week, but let myself down last night with Doritos. Oh dear. I’m now off for a bike ride, and aiming for over ten miles (hilly). Onwards and upwards!

ObiJuanKenobi · 21/06/2018 09:28

I've got a wedding in 2 weeks and determined to loose some extra lbs before then so trying to hit it hard again for the coming weeks.

Any tips for targeting chubby arms? Mine are my least favourite feature!!

BiscuitMachine · 21/06/2018 19:29

12.5 mile bike ride, 3.5 mile dog walk. Good!
Chippy tea plus choc ice. Bad!

ObiJuanKenobi · 21/06/2018 21:41

@BiscuitMachine I think your and my ideas of good and bad are on different planets Wink

milleniumhandandprawn · 22/06/2018 11:47

So today’s weigh in puts me 5lbs down from my start weight and am now 13.5.1/2

I have an event on 5th July and I’ve decided I WILL be in the 12st bracket by then.

It’s fairly arbitrary but never mind!

Am going to have a very healthy weekend - and then crack on next week.
Definitely can do this!!

milleniumhandandprawn · 22/06/2018 11:48

buscuit well done on your bike ride!

I’m going to run to the next village tomorrow and get the train back - have been meaning to try it for a while!

BiscuitMachine · 23/06/2018 08:52

Thanks millenium and hope you have a good run.
I have decided I must must must do my fitness pal every day, otherwise I’m a lost cause. I’m going to a wedding next week, and I would love to break the ten stone barrier by then. Focus!

milleniumhandandprawn · 23/06/2018 11:07

What weight at you now biscuit?

BiscuitMachine · 23/06/2018 19:03

Last Sunday I was 10st 2lb 6oz (the ounces count!)
I’ll be lucky if I’ve not put weight on when I weigh in tomorrow morning (although I’ve been good today). I reckon if I’m super focused this week I can do it.

ObiJuanKenobi · 24/06/2018 07:13

I'm 1.5lbs up this week Blush
