8 weeks to lose a stone

summerslimmer · 19/05/2018 18:52

Who’s up for losing a stone in the next 8 weeks?
I’ve had a terrible year so far- chronic health problems, 2 miscarriages, depression...
In short I’ve gained a lot of weight and really want to lose at least a stone of it before a holiday in July.
Thinking I’m going to try low carb when possible as that seems to suit my body.
No friends to do this with in real life so does anyone want to join me?

1kg off this week, now at 71.2kg. That’s 2.3kg, around 5lb, down in the two weeks of this thread. That’s do me!

(I started my weight loss journey a few weeks for before the start of this thread so my overall total is 7.8kg or around 17lbs!)

MrsMozart · 03/06/2018 08:54

It's been a crap week.

Done a shit load of walking, but also 'diet', as in what I'm meant to eat due to intolerances / IBS, and what I've actually eaten have been wildly divergent. I am an idiot.

Can't remember what last weigh in was. Today's is 12st 11.5lbs.

I'm off to have a stern word with sef.

summerslimmer · 03/06/2018 09:10

1lb off for me this week- can't really complain as I've not eaten very well and lost 4 days of exercise to migraine - will be back on track for the next weigh in with any luck
Well done for all the losses so far

1/4 of a pound off for me!! Oh well, at least it’s a loss if only a tiny one. I’ve not been great this week and exercise has been minimal so I’m not surprised.

I think I’m back on track now though so hopefully will do better next week!

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 03/06/2018 10:15

After the initial loss, I have not lost anything. I'm on day 6 with a 3lb loss - but nothing for three days. Any advice welcome x

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 03/06/2018 10:16

Still in first week.

cheshiremama89 · 03/06/2018 11:53

I'm now 15lbs down since starting mid April.

I now weigh less than I did for my wedding last year!

Crazy! I still want another stone gone!

PurpleDaisies · 03/06/2018 17:43

I’ve had a rotten week with dental pain so I’ve been on codeine. The unfortunate side effect is I’m totally bloated and so I’m skipping today’s weigh in. It’ll just be demoralising!

Well done to everyone who has managed a loss.

Second week weigh in for me and I lost 3lbs so 8lbs in total! Super happy but I've been manic this week. Hope to have another good week as I have a fair bit more than a stone to loose!!!!

tava63 · 03/06/2018 18:00

A pound off for me - still not following SW correctly and still scoffing too much at night - it need to really focus this week. Well done everyone for keeping each other motivated and engaged.

fatneedtobelighterhelp · 03/06/2018 19:23

Well done user1469751309! How are you doing your weightloss?

Thiswontendwell · 03/06/2018 19:50

Today and yesterday have been not the best - away to the in laws. FAR too much wine drunk and out for a magoosive family meal today....
Ooooops!
I do my weigh in on Monday morning so ANYTHING lost will be good....

DaffoDeffo · 03/06/2018 20:17

Lol obi - that was always my downfall!
I have lost around 0.5kg but it is the first weight loss I have had in 3 weeks so I am ok with that...BUT I have had a bad weekend and am worried I've put it back on already argh

My biggest problem is my waistline which is enormous- but I don't think the 0.5kg went off there as there's no difference in the inches. I am hoping to lose 4 inches off my waist so I have a long way to go!

Well done everyone!

HotelRoomforOne · 04/06/2018 05:13

Put on 1kg since last monday, now 64kg. Brilliant!! Have been sick in bed most of week, also pre-menstural and on 200mg of sertaline, could be contributing factors but bottom line is my portions are way to big. I'm going to try measuring out my carbs this week. Here we go again...have a good week everyone.

milleniumhandandprawn · 04/06/2018 07:15

Hi hotel
I’ve also had a not very good week... although my excuses are a lot more flimsy than yours!
I’m treating this next fortnight as a boot camp culminating in a 10k race next Friday...
Am going to cut out all of the shite and will be running on at least 7 of the next 10 days with something like yoga on the other days.
I’m also due my period at some point in the next week so that’s probably a factor.
Height: 5:11
Starting weight: 13:10.
Target loss: 20lbs.

Thiswontendwell · 04/06/2018 07:51

Ok.....
84.6kg this morning so (if I have got this right) that's a kilo in the last week
Not too bad considering.
Back on track today I hope!!!!

BiscuitMachine · 04/06/2018 08:21

Morning everyone, we’ll done for all your losses, and all the hard work, even if it didn’t pay off as much as you wanted it to. Keep going! I’ve lost another 3lb, I’m very pleased as I’ve not done much exercise last week and had a very very bad Friday. I’ve also been visiting parents this weekend which always in my head means all diets are off, for some reason! I restrained myself though Smile.

DaffoDeffo · 04/06/2018 19:53

period makes a difference to me too - mine's just come on. Almost worth not weighing myself till it's over !

I am managing to stick to 1200 cals but I can see that the majority of mine are the evening meal - also myfitnesspal has started counting my exercise from fitbit and saying I have loads more calories which isn't really true (though would be great if it was!). Are the nutrition breakdowns accurate on myfitnesspal? I am not sure they are but I don't know....I had almost a whole pizza today (small one) and it still says I only had 116g of carbs which seems way too low!

HotelRoomforOne · 05/06/2018 00:05

Hi millenium
The fact that you can run 10 km is fantastic and just amazing to me. What do you usually eat while training for a big run? Best of luck with the race and the lead up! I would really like to shift my focus to fitness rather than weightloss and just let the weight do what it will!!
Y'all know as women our bodies are dynamic, far more so than men's bodies, and constantly affected by shifting hormone levels. Weight can be in flux a lot of the time, during puberty, child-bearing years, breastfeeding, menopause, for reasons beyond our control. There is alot going on in our induvidual bodies. So we should def give ourselves some grace for this x

milleniumhandandprawn · 05/06/2018 15:27

Thanks hotel!
I’m afraid there’s no “usually” about it - this is my first foray into the world of running... I’m just trying to keep a sensible balance between exercise and carbs and not to let the fact I’ve done a bit of exercise be a reason to eat all the pies more than I need.

It’s sooooo hard with all of the hormonal buggering about. Am still BFing my youngest and I’m sure that’s making weight loss harder. She’s most likely my last DC though so am really reluctant to knock it on the head before she’s ready...

How’s your week so far?
I did go for a run after work last night - tonight am going to work out some kinks with yoga (hopefully).

Gymntonic · 05/06/2018 15:45

Weighed myself this morning and have managed to stay the same despite meals out and weekend away. Have another restaurant meal tonight to navigate then back on it properly tomorrow.
Enjoying all this running talk. Managed my 100 miles in May. Now working on quality runs - speed and hills. Booked into Pilates tomorrow too to work on core.
Upwards and onwards!

milleniumhandandprawn · 05/06/2018 16:10

Wow!! 100miles in 1 month? That’s loads!
Do you tend to do lots of short runs, a few really long ones or a bit of a mixture.
I think id need to speed up rather a lot.. I’d be doing nothing else otherwise 😂

Dottydoodoo · 05/06/2018 20:38

Wow well done to everyone who is managing to get out there and get running. I started couch to 5k and got as far as week 2 but a combination of rain and DH not being here in the evenings meant I gave up. And I haven’t got going again yet! It’s on my list...........

I’ve been such a pig today Blush I have tracked it all on mfp and I have been to Zumba and it kind of all evens out, but I have eaten so many calories in snacks and picking and just rubbish. It just shows me how mindless my eating habits are/were. I’ll be back on track tomorrow, I’ll have to be!

cheshiremama89 · 06/06/2018 09:30

Well after a naughty Sunday, it has set me back a WEEK!
Is that possible?
I seemed to have gained 2lbs!

It really wasn't that bad... as far cheat days go

Cinnamon and raisin bagel thin
Light and free yoghurt

Ham sandwich & fries
Glass of champagne

Roast
Nutella cheesecake

I'm seriously worried, I've worked so hard and have a family holiday to wales next week where I'm just going to have to "go with it" as we're taking it in turns to cook, and will be eating out every lunch time.

I know how the smallest set back demotivates me
