Hello,
I was wondering how much weight u fellow vlcd people have lost in the space of 10 weeks. I am planning to attend a friends wedding in 10 weeks and am attempting to loose weight. I am abit 5 stone overweight so i am desperate to loose some weight using exante till the wedding.
Looking forward to hearing your success stories.

Ive green tea too in the cupboard@Shania. Youve just reminded me to dig it out! It is supposed to have health benefits, not just weight loss. Im a sucker for hokum too!! Grin

And, ta @cardoon - I've just ordered some of your second suggestion!! Citrus, grapefruit and tropical. Sounds much better than marigold veggie stock!!

NoCanoe · 28/04/2018 12:42

Ooh, @Shania. Think we all had a hellish start to our journey!! Sad

TheShaniaTwainExperience · 28/04/2018 13:01

Well it’s a weird one because I can’t drink normal tea without milk but I quite like green tea as a zero calorie drink, I find it quite refreshing. If the rumours are true then it’s an added bonus I guess Grin

TheShaniaTwainExperience · 28/04/2018 13:03

It was so difficult; by day 3 I wondered what on Earth I was playing at. Was ready to give in tbh. But when I fit into my old jeans it gave me motivation to carry on!!

2under2survivor · 28/04/2018 13:30

NoCanoe your fish meal sounds yummy, hope it satisfied your craving.

Shania that's amazing progress! You must feel great.

Day 5 is here and I feel so much better. Less hungry, more energetic (in fact I feel a bit wired, too much coffee perhaps). I was able to watch my DH and kids eat cake in Ikea whilst I sipped a black coffee. Only had my first meal of the day (carbonara) at 12pm.

Confession time... like I said, I was seriously craving a G&T yesterday. My attitude is that it's better to scratch the itch before it becomes an obsession. So I allowed myself to have one, as long as I savoured it and focused on it. Ended up letting my DH finish it after drinking about half, a few sips were enough.

P.S. I have definitely purchased electrolyte tablets in Home Bargains before (by the paracetamol etc I think) so maybe worth a look if you are going there anyway.

TheShaniaTwainExperience · 28/04/2018 14:34

Well done 2!

I found where you’re at right now to be my trickiest day(s) so you’re probably going to see better days from now on. It only gets easier imo! You’ve done amazing.

Thanks for the tip about electrolyte tablets, might give them a go

GaryBaldyBiscuit · 28/04/2018 14:57

Wow! Well done Shania! That’s amazing weight loss in less than two weeks, gives me hope maybe I’ll get more than 1 or 2lbs off this week. I’m doing ok, just back from a kids party with loads of buffet food, I managed to resist but I’ve got to go to the shops later so have to stay strong damn my sweet tooth! Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

TheShaniaTwainExperience · 28/04/2018 16:09

Ah thanks gary! I haven’t really had any social temptations yet apart from my in laws coming over for dinner (completely abstained so I felt good for that), will be interesting how I deal with situations in the future. I’m thinking hot drinks, sparkling water with lots of ice, and mumsnetting if i get tempted 🤣

emma6776 · 28/04/2018 19:11

Hi all! Also doing Exante here. Don’t have a huge amount to shift - started at 11.6 and I’m now 10.11 at 14 days in. I’m doing TS on weekday and flex at the weekends. I don’t have the will power to do TS the whole time so will keep coming out of ketosis. Good luck everyone!

TheShaniaTwainExperience · 28/04/2018 19:25

Well done emma!

2 weeks in, you’re over the worst!

How are you finding it?

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 28/04/2018 19:31

Sneaky NC for me btw VLCDers

2under2survivor · 28/04/2018 19:50

Wow emma, you are doing so well. Good that you have been able to tailor the plan to suit you.

My husband had an enormous pizza for dinner tonight... that I bought him. I wonder if he will end up finding the weight I lose because today I kept seeing things in Tesco and thinking, 'that looks delicious but I can't have it, I bet DH would love it'. Clearly there has been a major shift because last time I was in a supermarket I could almost weep, I felt so sad and deprived Grin

Tried the turkey dinner again tonight, adding curry powder and various other spices in the hopes of turning something that tasted like dog food into a culinary masterpiece. Why did I buy 5 packets again? Confused

GaryBaldyBiscuit · 28/04/2018 20:57

2under2, word of advise is if you really hate them just chuck them, I find the diet harder to stick to if I don’t like the food.
It’s wasted money but far better to loose a few packs than fall off the wagon, we’re putting ourselves under enough pressure the least we can do is enjoy the few things we’re allowed to eat Grin

NoCanoe · 28/04/2018 21:49

Im fessing up - I
still couldnt face any shakes or bars. So had small chicken breast, kale, green beans and cauliflower. And a small - dear Lord!- it was small....glass of wine. Blush

Im giving myself this weekend 'off' but pretty low carb. Intention is to restart on exante on Monday. Tummy still out of sorts.

I think that oxo bar bite did for me! Ill try it again in the week. Tentatively !! Hmm

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 28/04/2018 22:25

Don’t beat yourself up Canoe! You didn’t exactly order a curry with all the trimmings now did you?! Sounds like a healthy meal that won’t be detrimental to your weight loss imo.

Take tomorrow to re-evaluate, and Monday you can start again. You’ve already proved to yourself that you can choose healthy options over binging on rubbish, you should see it as an achievement in a way.

The hard part is with the maintenance, and it sounds like you have a good grasp of what meals you should be eating when that day comes. Be proud!

NoCanoe · 28/04/2018 22:57

I think i love you, @Shania! Flowers

Youve made me feel tonnes better about what was getting marked down as a failure! Ta!!

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 28/04/2018 23:07

Nope, not allowed to call anything a failure! Just think it’s a Saturday night and you managed to eat sensibly and drink 1 glass and just enjoy it for what it was.

I really disagree with demonising food; the shakes are great as a short sharp ‘shock’ to the system, but ultimately we will all have to start eating again soon. Food is fuel, our body likes it. We can be strong enough not to eat to excess, we can make good choices, we can be healthy. I know we can!

Enjoy the rest of your weekends VLCDers!

Do we have a weekly weigh in or are we just doing it randomly? I kind of like the accountability but I know we are all at different stages

2under2survivor · 29/04/2018 06:52

Gary 100% agree with you, in fact I had already planned to chuck them away but decided to give it one last chance to prove itself. In the bin now.

NoCanoe that doesn't sound like a disaster at all - if you keep the carbs low you'll be fine. In fact my long term plan is probably to do Exante during the week and low carb at the weekends. Red or dry white wine has surpisingly few carbs (unless you drink the whole bottle... Blush)

Shania totally agree with your attitude. If we want something and we deny ourselves it I think it just leads to it being a 'forbidden fruit' that we want more and more, ultimately falling off the wagon completely when a small 'dose' could probably have nipped it in the bud. My weigh in day is Tuesday but ultimately 7 days of weight loss is a bit of an arbitrary measure to happy to bring my weigh in day in line with the majority.

Off on a road trip today - bought some bars, so have packed a couple of them. Probably won't do so well at drinking water today, as don't really want to have to stop at every service station on the A1.

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 29/04/2018 08:12

Mine is also Tuesday 2! But happy to change it if the majority wants otherwise, I’m easy! Good luck on your road trip today, agreed stopping at the services isn’t fun, gross toilets and there’s always temptations around Blush

GaryBaldyBiscuit · 29/04/2018 08:47

I’m with 2, not sure how long exante ts is possible to stick to so will be doing similar on weekends eventually and then going low carb when I’ve had enough, still aiming to do TS for most of the next 2/3 months but trying to be flexible and just keep loosing weight whatever which is the important bit. Which it’s sounds like you still will have done Canoe!

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 29/04/2018 10:32

I also had a little something to eat last night, an egg salad. I refuse to feel bad for eating though. Every day is a fresh start. As long as I lose weight I don’t care how!

I’ve been weighing on a Friday morning which suits me as it’s my day off.

Keep going everyone!

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 29/04/2018 11:34

Great meal Georgie, you should be really pleased with yourself.

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday!

Buxtonstill · 29/04/2018 15:10

I was in a complete binging mood, but instead of giving in totally, I chopped two onions, grated a courgette, handfull of cherry tomatoes, dry fried in fry light, then at the end stirred in a couple of beaten eggs. The same calories as 2 or 3 biscuits, and very filling, but I am still craving something, so may have a bar for my next meal.

Buxtonstill · 29/04/2018 15:12

Have a good day everyone, and despite the miserable weather, remember to drink loads of water!

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 29/04/2018 15:41

Buxton that looks DEVINE. I haven’t eaten solid food for nearly 2 weeks 😖😖😖

Congrats on resisting a binge and going for good and fresh food. Wow everyone is doing really well on that this week!

Thanks for the reminder, going to get a bottle right now
