Hello,
I was wondering how much weight u fellow vlcd people have lost in the space of 10 weeks. I am planning to attend a friends wedding in 10 weeks and am attempting to loose weight. I am abit 5 stone overweight so i am desperate to loose some weight using exante till the wedding.
Looking forward to hearing your success stories.

Buxton that looks delicious. We are actually having a lovely sunny day up here (in Scotland! Shock).

I had a hot cross bun bar in the car at 9am. It's now nearly 4pm and I am only just about to make my next meal (vanilla shake). Crazy. We have been having so much fun in the garden that I haven't been thinking about food at all. What a huge difference from even this time last week... I used to joke about how I was always thinking 3 meals ahead.

adiawyhm88 · 30/04/2018 00:24

I'm starting exante tomorrow! I have 3 stone to lose to start IVF, but about 9 stone to lose total. Going to try exante for 10/11 weeks and hopefully move on to a low carb diet. So nervous!

2under2survivor · 30/04/2018 07:02

adia welcome! Don't be nervous, be excited. The first few days are hard, then it gets so much easier. Stick with it and drink lots of water, and you'll see results quickly.

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 30/04/2018 07:44

Glad you got the lovely sun 2! Very jealous EnvyGrin

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 30/04/2018 07:45

Hi adia don’t be nervous! You will be great. Just look after yourself, try not to engage in anything too strenuous as you might feel weak, especially at the beginning. If you’re like me, you will love seeing the weight drop off fast!

GaryBaldyBiscuit · 30/04/2018 08:24

Happy Monday! I am not looking forward to work today, the weekend went far too quickly!
Welcome adia, you’ll be fine, we’re all helping each other so please do come back here regularly especially if you’re having a hard day. Get yourself through the first 3-4 days and from then it’s pretty much will power as you’ll really find you’re not that hungry. Sounds like you’ve got an important goal at the end too so best of luck for your first day Flowers

My work trousers are actually loose! That perked me up a bit I have to say, I’m going to see how I get on this week and I may have to buy some new ones this coming weekend :)

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 30/04/2018 08:41

Congrats on your trousers Gary!

My leggings that I bought from ASOS only a few weeks ago are already baggy so I’ve had to move into my smaller pre baby ones!

Buxtonstill · 30/04/2018 14:04

19:2.8. Three weeks ago I was 19:12.8, so a loss of 10 lbs in 3 weeks! I was 21 stones when I started last year. I got down to 17:6, and took my eye off the ball. My first aim is to get past that 19 barrier, then into the 17’s again as I have half a dozen pairs of jeans in different colours that I bought in the M&S sale last year. I almost got in them, then Christmas etc happened. 20lbs will do it! Have a good day everyone! (Total lost 1 stone 11.2.)

Buxtonstill · 30/04/2018 14:13

For those just starting out , go and take a photo of yourself in a mirror, from the side, and take one in a few weeks, standing in exactly the same place. I go into the disabled toilet at work (and yes, I am disabled, so not denying a disabled person use of the loo) and stand in exactly the same place and take a quick snap. I stand in the same place, just to give it scale.

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 30/04/2018 14:53

Well done Buxton! I might start taking pics too, good idea

2under2survivor · 30/04/2018 15:02

Gary that's great about the trousers... don't spend too much on new ones because you never know, they might be baggy soon too Grin

Buxton you are doing fabulously well! Good tip about the photos.

adiawyhm88 · 30/04/2018 15:09

Hi 2under2 Thanks for the advice! I tried the hot cross bun bar this morning but it tasted really bad. Thankfully I only bought 3! I've just had a milkshake which is much better, so I might be having more of those!

Hi Shania thanks for the advice and I'm definitely looking forward to some initial rapid weight loss!

adiawyhm88 · 30/04/2018 15:11

Thanks Gary! And congrats on the trousers, that's great. I'm so pleased to have found a group doing the same stuff Smile

NoCanoe · 30/04/2018 15:53

Hey everyone! Just catching up. What brilliant advice on approach and mindset there has been lately! You are all terrific! Flowers

Welcome to the newbies - great to feel we are creating our own little support group of VLCD'ers!

I kept off exante at weekend. Kept to 16:8 approach re meal timings and basically just had one evening meal - low carb- which was all I really felt up to, due to still feeling a bit delicate.

I'm keeping an open mind as to next weekend. Im coming round to the idea that a weekend 'off' might be a sensible approach. Smile

Congratulations to everyone with losses so far. And to those who think they are not doing so well - dont be hard on yourself! Give yourself a pass and come back to join the fold. Star

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 30/04/2018 17:26

No tbh you could be on to something, if it’s more sustainable and doesn’t make you feel the ‘dread’, you will probably be more likely to stick to it.

I will have another ‘temptation’ on bank holiday Monday; family is hosting a bbq. So that should be interesting!

Keep on trucking VLCDers, I’m excited about my weigh in tomorrow!

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 30/04/2018 17:27

Me too adia, my family all think I’m a bit mad Confused but I’m such an impatient person. I just want things now now now. I don’t think I could have waited two months (or more) to lose the weight I have done in two weeks. It’s just too slow for me.

2under2survivor · 30/04/2018 17:58

shania I'm the same. There's nothing more demotivating than depriving yourself all week only to lose a lb (which comes back on again the moment you have a couple of wines). Looking forward to my weigh in tomorrow too. My time of the month is due any minute now though so I wonder how that will affect things... but it'll even out by the next weigh in so it doesn't really matter.

I have struggled a bit today - my toddler is ill and has been having tantrum after tantrum. I have stuck to plan but my head hasn't been in the right place. I want to seek comfort in food, but now I'm wise enough to know that that would only make me miserable. So, early night tonight, tomorrow is a new day.

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 30/04/2018 18:01

2 it’s funny you say about sleeping, I think this diet has cured my insomnia. When I’m hungry in the evenings, I just sleep Grin
I’m not sure what the deal is with TOTM, I think sometimes you’re heavier, sometimes women are heavier during ovulation. Very weird! Best advice is probsbly drink plenty of water so you don’t get retention, and have the painkillers ready for cramps Grin
My toddlers are throwing sweet corn across the room and all I can think is I really want to eat it Confused bed time soon for me too I think!

2under2survivor · 01/05/2018 08:49

shania haha, I have tended to be in bed before 9 most nights this week, before the wine and snack cravings kick in :)

Weighed in this morning... down 7.4lbs in my first week. Delighted with that. My BMI is now under 30 so I am no longer obese! Trousers are feeling looser, generally feeling more confident and positive.

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 01/05/2018 09:23

Well done 2! The loose clothes is what’s keeping me going atm

Start: 14 st 7lb
Today: 13 st 3lb
Total loss: 18lb in two weeks

Been on the diet exactly 2 weeks today so I’m probably heading for the three week slump Blush

Keep on trucking VLCDers! What’s everyone’s plans for motivation today? I’m definitely motivated by the sun we have here today, puts me in a good mood!

2under2survivor · 01/05/2018 13:53

shania wow, that's fantastic, well done! Coincidentally, my goal for the next weigh in is to hit 13st 3lbs, which would be just over 4lbs off in week 2.

My motivation for today is my son, who has just started walking - I need to lose weight so I have the energy to run after him!

NoCanoe · 01/05/2018 14:04

Wow!! @under2 and @Shania - brilliant losses!

ShaniaTwainAndTheRubyKitKat · 01/05/2018 20:19

Yay 2 we’re nearly weight twins! Grin

Thank you every one, seeing your messages is a real positive for me Smile

Hope everyone had muddled through as best they can today, another one down VLCDers, well done!

2under2survivor · 01/05/2018 20:34

Been quiet here today... hope everyone is going well. If you've fallen off the horse, I know how hard it is to get back on... but it's totally worth it.

Found myself so tempted to pick at the kids' dinner tonight as I was making it... old habits die hard. Before starting Exante I wouldn't have said I ate outside of mealtimes, but doing it is making me realise that I actually used to eat constantly. A slice of ham or a broken off bit of cheese when I went to get something unrelated from the fridge, a corner of buttery toast as I carried it over to the kids, a lick of the yogurt lid before it went in the bin... it all adds up.

NoCanoe · 01/05/2018 20:45

Did you all hear that massive thud about 2 hours ago?

That was me falling off the wagon. Blush

Am taking myself off to bed before I can do any more damage! Hmm
