Hello,
I was wondering how much weight u fellow vlcd people have lost in the space of 10 weeks. I am planning to attend a friends wedding in 10 weeks and am attempting to loose weight. I am abit 5 stone overweight so i am desperate to loose some weight using exante till the wedding.
Looking forward to hearing your success stories.

Week 6 lost 5.5lbs, 26.5lb total now.
Really happy with that.

moomin11 well done on your loss and chocolate mint is exante, had a honeycomb yesterday, didn't smell good, smelt really sweet but tasted ok, I mix them with extra water otherwise they're all too sweet.

TheGoodEnoughWife · 18/07/2018 11:00

Two days done!

Not too bad so far, I started same day as my period (tmi!) which is normally when I am not so bothered by food so I am hoping to be in ketosis before I get hangry.

Managing 2.5lts water each day but having to remember to keep my water topped up.

My order came quickly but I did get quite a lot of bars which I am avoiding right now so hoping more shakes/smoothies will come in stock soon. I have done a Slim&Save order so may have a week of those.

Mostly I am enjoying not having to eat, count cals, think about what to eat and make sure I don't get carried away.

Weighing in on Mondays although considering holding off until I have done two weeks.

So far so good.

TyrionLannistersShadow · 18/07/2018 16:26

I'm doing well thanks minnies I'm down another kilo since I went onto regular food and still in ketosis. I'm sticking to low carb, lowish cal food and it seems to be working. In fact I find I'm hardly ever hungry now which really helps me stay on track. Funnily enough I was just saying to my ds2 today that 3 mths without any sugar has really changed my taste buds. I used to be a fiend for sugary food, more so than fatty foods, and now I don't crave them at all and I find things like tomatoes really sweet! It's mad Smile. The real test will be next week when we go away for a few days and are eating out every day!

UninspiringUserName · 19/07/2018 18:36

How are we all doing? I'm now halfway through week three and am a stone down, which is making me incredibly happy. I won't lie, it's not always easy to stick to it, but I'm doing it. I'm astounded - I've stuck to it 100% other than a couple of thin slices of ham when the hunger has overtaken me.

Have gone off most of my Cambridge products though - think shakes are the way forward for me. Vanilla with ice and a shot of espresso has been a genuine game changer, but I'm thinking I can't live on those for the next few weeks...?

How's everyone else doing?

moomin11 · 20/07/2018 07:39

That's amazing well done! Everyone is doing so well. I also like a vanilla shake with coffee and loads of ice added. Actually add it to most shakes as it helps reduce the sweetness. I have changed one thing in that I let myself have 2 cups of tea/coffee a day with a teeny bit of sugar and milk. Doesn't seem to have affected things so far. I am out with friends for the day today having some normal food and a few drinks, I am a bit nervous about the impact it will have but I'm viewing it as a reward and will just enjoy the day.

moomin11 · 20/07/2018 07:41

Shadow - are you still calorie counting, and if so how many are you aiming for roughly? It's great that you're still losing on normal food.

TyrionLannistersShadow · 20/07/2018 12:04

moomin I'm not calorie counting as such, I don't even really know how to do that! I'm just sticking to 3 small meals a day (the vlcd got me used to that so it was easy to keep up), no eating in between meals (again as per vlcd) , staying away from things I know are high carb , high sugar eg bread , pasta, etc, and sticking to lowish carb, protein based things like eggs, Greek yoghurt, chicken , leafy veg , that sort of thing. I made the conscious decision to not go back to the way I was eating before the vlcd, that's what got me to the point I needed it! I knew if I even tasted all the sugary , fatty, carby foods again I'd start craving and lose all the benefits of ketosis. By staying in ketosis I'm rarely hungry and don't have any cravings, I'd like to eat the crap but I'm able to say no iykwim. It's not always easy but when I weight up against being able to wear nice clothes again, there's no contest. I've told myself if I do put on any weight over the next 2 weeks while I'm on hols then I'm going straight back onto exante until it's gone, I'm nipping it in the bud instead of ignoring it like I usually do.

TyrionLannistersShadow · 20/07/2018 12:06

Btw I'm 18kgs down now which is 2stone 12 lbs. I'm lighter now (by a hair !) than I've been since I became pregnant with my eldest 20 years ago.

UninspiringUserName · 20/07/2018 12:16

Tyrion, that's amazing! Well done - do you feel amazing?

To help spur me on, I've worked out I'm now the lightest I've been this year. In 6lbs' time, I'll be the lightest I've been since having my youngest, who is now 6. Another 7lbs from that and I'll be the lightest since having my middle child, who's fast approaching 8. Then, a stone and a bit from there, I'll be the lightest I've been since having my eldest. He's nearly 17. For the first time, it feels achievable, and I'm almost giddy at the idea of shifting so much.

**Autocorrect just changed shifting to shitting. That would be a very different diet.

DrOnWheels · 22/07/2018 10:31

Morning all, amazing progress by everyone.

2nd week weigh in : -2lbs (total 5lbs, Exante Man Plan).

I'm now out of the "obese" BMI range. Was out with friends last Sunday and whilst I did make good food choices (low carb with plenty of grilled vegetables), I did have 3 glasses of wine 😳. Pleased to find that I still lost weight this week!

TheGoodEnoughWife · 23/07/2018 07:15

Week 1 weigh in and 10.2lbs off!

Doing Exante TotalSolution and finding it not too bad. Do have a lot to lose - around 5 1/2 stone. Feeling really motivated this time though :-)

Buckinghambae · 23/07/2018 18:47

Evening all

Can anyone explain this one to me.. I have gained weight in the last week, fully on plan --Sole Source... and it's not hormonal. Week 2, I didn't lose a heap in Week 1 either..

11 11lb and now 11 8.5 2 weeks later..
I can't work out how, drinking properly.. absolutely lost!

DrOnWheels · 24/07/2018 08:38

Wow TheGoodEnoughWife - great first week. I have to admit that just seeing the losses each week is quite a good motivation.

BuckinghamBee not sure which VLCD programme you are on, nor your BMI. On Exante there's different plans (with different daily calorie intake) for different BMIs, so my first question is are you on the correct plan for your BMI? There is such a thing as having too big a calorie deficit in a day i.e. if your calorie expenditure is extremely high relative to the calorie intake from the VLCD you could be triggering a starvation response en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starvation_response . You might need to switch to a plan that adds additional calories e.g. 200cal of low carb food / fibre rich veg to the replacements you are eating to counter this.

Also citric acid knocks us out of ketosis - it's in most fizzy/diet drinks and some other things so check food labels and stick to water, herbal teas or diet squash.

Monthly hormonal cycles can give water retention and bloating, also if your toilet habits are not regular a fibre supplement might help - Holland and Barrett sell fibre supplement tablets. If you have food intolerances or IBS there may be ingredients in the packs that are aggrevating this.

Sorry it's a long list! Others may have some additional ideas....

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 25/07/2018 22:33

Week 7, 4.2lb off this week
Total 30.7 I'm so happy with how this diet is going. I'm just feeling so much more positive.

TheGoodEnoughWife. That's a great loss.

TheGoodEnoughWife · 26/07/2018 08:14

That is a good weight loss for week 7! Well done :-)

I am finding it okay. Have a few things coming up where I will have to break it but am trying to think about how I can while making good choices. I would rather just stick to meal replacement everyday and will once these few days are out the way.

I do feel impatient which is silly as even if it takes 6mths this is such a short time when I have spent the last 15yrs very overweight!

NoCanoe · 30/07/2018 15:40

Sigh.....I didnt so much fall off the wagon months ago, but threw myself off it and ran screaming for the hills as if the hounds of hell were after me. Blush
But....Ive slowly waddled back onto the wagon train route and I'm hitching a lift today.
Everyone is doing so well and having great results, so that's encouraging. Flowers

DrOnWheels · 31/07/2018 08:26

I've had friends and family up for the past 4 days which has meant eating dinner and lunch in restaurants most days and drinking alcohol almost every day.

So my Sunday weigh in for week 3: +3lbs (net loss 2lbs)

I undid my week 2 efforts 😢.

moomin11 · 31/07/2018 10:45

TyrionLannistersShadow that's amazing, was that all on exante?

I'm only have 1 shake a day now and 2 small meals, no snacks. I lost 13 pounds in 2 weeks so really pleased with that but I was getting a bit down not having normal food so have started to introduce it slowly. Haven't put anything back on which is great but I am being really careful. Still have just under 2 stone to go so trying to decide between low carb or slimming world to get the rest of the weight off. I've done sw before but don't know much about low carb (without relying on meal replacements) so just trying to learn a bit more about it!

Well done to everyone for sticking at it, it's not easy!

NoCanoe · 01/08/2018 13:25

Breakfast is in the bin! One bite of a maple and pecan flapjack was quite enough!Hmm
Certainly stopped hunger in its tracks, I'll give it that! Grin

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 01/08/2018 16:21

Lost 2.2lbs this week
33lbs total in 8 weeks
Very happy with progress

Torvi · 02/08/2018 08:41

Hi everyone! I hope it's ok to join you. I've just placed my Slim and Save order ready to start on Monday. I'm kind of looking forward to it, and kind of not!

I did LL 9 years ago and lost 5 stone. 2 babies later and I need to lose it again, and possibly a little bit more Blush

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 05/08/2018 21:54

Hi Torvi you're very welcome to join us, although the thread seems to have thinned out a lot, think a lot of the earlier posters have possibly finished.

Has your slim and save stuff arrived? Some of the shake flavours sound lovely.

DrOnWheels · 06/08/2018 08:58

Sunday weigh in for week 4: -1lbs (net loss 3lbs, Exante man plan, no excercise this week).
Again had friends up this week, so ate out a couple of times, but stuck to G& slimlineT this time(!). Peased with the 1lb loss, but till got 2lbs to loose to undo last week's increase. Hopefully will get back on track this week.

holycityzoo · 06/08/2018 10:01

Hi can I join you?
It's my first day today and I've never done VCD before. I've just read the full thread and some very inspirational losses!
I'm really nervous which is ridiculous and I'm not sure why.
I've weighed this morning at 13.4 I'm doing the man plan as I need milk in my tea and coffee and I'm going to combine with 16:8 as this is something I've done before and found boosted my weightloss plus I can't face food until lunchtime anyway.
I'm going to try and weigh once a week (I'm a scales junky so this will hard!)

Wetdogloveshubert · 06/08/2018 11:09

Hey all! I'm back from holiday and ordering myself another month's worth of exante to see if I can shift another half stone or so. Well done on the losses, you're all doing so well!
