Hello,
I was wondering how much weight u fellow vlcd people have lost in the space of 10 weeks. I am planning to attend a friends wedding in 10 weeks and am attempting to loose weight. I am abit 5 stone overweight so i am desperate to loose some weight using exante till the wedding.
Looking forward to hearing your success stories.

The shakes you mix a full sachet with 200ml of water, although I use 400ml because I don’t like them thick

Thank you for that, very helpful

Gemi33 · 23/06/2018 17:42

Can you drink sugar free squash while doing this or is it just plain water?

xx

amusedbush · 23/06/2018 19:36

You’re not supposed to but I do, and I also have a milky coffee every morning with a bar so I’m far from a model VLCDer Grin

Gemi33 · 23/06/2018 21:30

Lol maybe I will try and avoid it but not worry too much if I can't - I get bored of plain water all the time!

xx

ThatsWotSheSaid · 24/06/2018 07:59

I drink sugar free squash sometimes too. I think for some people it makes them crave sugar and ruins the diet though.

Ronnyhotdog · 24/06/2018 09:31

I thought I’d struggle to just drink water but I’ve not. I have some cans of Dr Pepper zero in just in case, think I’ve had 2 in 3 weeks. Once I open a can I can’t finish it. Dh is drinking sugar free squash & still losing though

Wetdogloveshubert · 24/06/2018 09:43

I'm still drinking tea with milk in it - not more than 5 cups a day, but I couldn't face doing this without tea. I fit back into size 12 trousers this weekend, so I'm thrilled with these results. Day 14 and 12lb down.

Ronnyhotdog · 24/06/2018 11:01

wetdog that’s great must feel really good getting back into things. Well done.

I’m enjoying my black coffee now, I won’t be going back to having milk

amusedbush · 24/06/2018 13:20

I hate plain water, it makes me feel sick if o drink more than a few mouthfuls so I drink all of my liquids as squash.

Gemi33 · 24/06/2018 13:31

Does anyone own one of these -

www.argos.co.uk/product/2767224

I do have a big blender but it's not that powerful - I'm wondering about getting one of these to blend the shakes with ice - has anyone who has used them found them to be good?

xx

amusedbush · 24/06/2018 14:27

It’s not great at blending a lot of ice. It’s loud, slow and I found it left chunks of ice that it couldn’t handle. I have a Nutribullet and it’s brilliant.

Ronnyhotdog · 25/06/2018 06:55

Start of week 4, total loss 1st 1lb. I’m no longer obese!!
It’s been hard having to wait to get on the scales but worth it to see the big change. I think it’ll be easier to wait this week.
I don’t know about adding food in this week. I want to follow the plan but I’m a little bit nervous about it. Is anyone else starting week 4 on exante this week?

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 25/06/2018 09:51

Well done ronny, I said to dh that getting out of obese range should be my next target, then I realised how far off that I am and need a interim goal.

Week 4 starts on Wednesday for me. I'm increasing my calories. I read that it's important because we're eating so few calories to increase sometimes because bodies don't like to let go of fat stores, giving the body extra kind of tells the body it's not going to go into famine and helps you to continue to lose weight.

Not having the higher calorie weeks can slow down overall weight loss.

Apologises if you are already know this Smile

Ronnyhotdog · 25/06/2018 12:38

Thanks for the info minnie, I’ve just had a medium egg, boiled with asparagus spears to dip in my yolk. I enjoyed it and don’t feel the urge to carry on eating.
I’m using an app called happy scale to track my weight, it’s breaks your goal up into 10 mini targets. It’s good, goals are easier to reach so you don’t feel like you’re slogging away forever.

Gemi33 · 25/06/2018 12:45

Does anyone notice a difference in weight loss depending on which of the products they use? I watched the crash diet/fast fix programmes and they seemed to be talking about a liquid diet so I was going to order the shakes only but at the last minute order a few of the bars thinking that if I get bored of the shakes those would be better than giving in completely - do you think it will make a difference?

xx

Wetdogloveshubert · 25/06/2018 13:04

The exante diet range is all 200 calories so you shouldn't affect weightloss at all @gemi33. I'm now having one 'meal' of theirs a day and hoping to continue my downward trajectory. I'm just starting week 3 but couldn't face another fortnight of just shakes. I'm on holiday not long after finishing a month of this and don't want to feel like I'm walking off the cliff edge by suddenly introducing solids.

Great stuff ronny you're doing brilliantly!!

Ronnyhotdog · 25/06/2018 13:06

I’ve been using a mix from the start and have still been losing. I have 2 shakes and a bar for my evening meal. On the documentary that was on the bbc the man had the porridge in the morning at one point & they were having soups. The fast fix program I only caught the 2nd episode and one of the men had a chocolate pudding angel delight type thing. I think as long as you stick to 3 products a day it’s fine to have what you fancy.

amusedbush · 25/06/2018 13:13

Not having the higher calorie weeks can slow down overall weight loss.

The higher calorie weeks on all other VLCDs come on week 13 though, not week 4 as Exante's does. My losses certainly weren't affected by continuing the plan right through last time I did this - I lost three stone in ten weeks.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 25/06/2018 13:22

I'm not saying people have to do the increased calorie week in week 4, I was just explaining why it's there if people are interested. 800 calories day is still considered a vlcd anyway Smile

Ronnyhotdog · 25/06/2018 13:24

Thank you wetdog

UninspiringUserName · 25/06/2018 13:43

Wow, you are all doing so well and reading your posts for the past few weeks has really helped to inspire me. It feels like I've been dieting all of my adult life and if anything, I'm getting bigger not smaller. My weight is the single biggest source of unhappiness in my life and I've just had enough.

So, yesterday I started Cambridge and while I'm feeling motivated to make some changes, I'm also feeling very wobbly, emotional and a smidgen overwhelmed by the task that lies ahead, but I'm hoping desperately I have the commitment and stamina to stick at it. I'm on day 2, and have had my first shake (chocolate, much nicer than the banana one yesterday) and nearly 3ltrs of water so far. I have a bar for later this afternoon then either a shake or a 'meal' later.

Wish me luck people...

Wishing you luckGrin
First few days were the worst for me, get through those and you'll do great

Gemi33 · 25/06/2018 15:21

For those using Exante - how quickly do you find they re-stock? I've placed my first order but have heard people talk about different shake flavours that weren't there when I ordered and I am assuming they were out of stock - do things come back into stock quite quickly?

TyrionLannistersShadow · 25/06/2018 15:22

I'm 8 weeks in now and I've been finding it a bit hard over the last couple of days, has anyone else found this? I was grand for weeks but lately I am craving something in the evening even though I'm not hungry. Snacking in the evening was always my downfall and up to now I've been ok on the diet. I think it's partly because it's so hot so every one else is eating icepops and drinking either wine or various soft drinks while we are sitting out the back, and I'm sick of my water and Tesco coke zero! I've another 2 weeks-ish to go so I'm just concentrating on that and going to bed early when it's too bad. I'm determined not to blip , has anyone ever had an extra product to combat craving and if so did it affect your losses? I don't have big losses anyway so I'm wary of doing anything that jepordises my small loss!

Notsurprisedatall · 25/06/2018 15:40

We are week 9 and my dh and I have been craving a lot of junk and had two takeaways Angry
We have stuck to it otherwise and we are still losing weight but the craving for carbs has hit us hard.
I've lost 31.5 lbs now (inactive) still another 70 to go Envy
