Hello,
I was wondering how much weight u fellow vlcd people have lost in the space of 10 weeks. I am planning to attend a friends wedding in 10 weeks and am attempting to loose weight. I am abit 5 stone overweight so i am desperate to loose some weight using exante till the wedding.
Looking forward to hearing your success stories.

TyrionLannistersShadow

I would personally have a couple of eggs or some chicken instead of an extra product, just to keep the carbs down.

Jayne0304 · 25/06/2018 17:25

Can I join in? I lost 3 stone in 3 months a couple of years ago with Slim and Save and have kept it off, but am off again now to lose some more as I am renewing my vows in 14 weeks. I do their Lifestyle plan which is 3 packs and a low carb meal a day - its all about staying below 70g of carbs a day to keep you in ketosis. I much prefer it and it means I don't fall out with my hubby, because I can fit my meal in at BBqs, Nandos etc quite easily. Plus their packs are yummy. I am re-starting on Friday as am out Thursday night but low carbing this week in preparation.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 25/06/2018 20:30

TyrionLannistersShadow totally agree with amused, a protein snack.
Are you in ketosis? Extra exante product would most likely kick you out if you are.

TyrionLannistersShadow · 26/06/2018 08:00

Thanks amused and minnies , in the end I didn't cave Smile ! The best bit about losing weight is being able to wear every single thing in my wardrobe instead of being confined to a few sets of leggings and trackie bottoms, and that's a godsend in this heat. I'm still overweight but I'm ok with that , it's a size I'm comfortable with, I'm never going to be skinny Grin
I'm sipping my black tea right now, I honestly never thought I'd get used to it without milk but I might even stick to black tea when I'm finished the exante! I'll have my porridge soon and that'll do me til lunchtime. I tend to have porridge in the morning, a bar at lunch and then something like the Indian dahl pot or sweet and sour noodles for dinner. I don't think I could manage on just shakes alone and since all the products are of equal calorie value, I don't see the point in sticking to just shakes. It wouldn't suit me anyway. Hope you're all coping with the heat, it's murder here. They're forecasting over 30 degrees this week, I'm not able!

amusedbush · 26/06/2018 08:19

Well done! I think it’s just horses for courses and the great thing about the plan is being able to mix and match as it suits you. I personally have a bar mid morning with a coffee, then a shake around 4pm and another shake at 8pm. I don’t like the savoury offerings but really like the shakes, plus it kills any sweet cravings I have.

I also have a daily Bovril with added Lo Salt both to keep my potassium up and to satisfy my savoury cravings. The Lo Salt has meant that this time I’ve had almost no headaches or leg cramps.

TyrionLannistersShadow · 26/06/2018 08:56

I do like the taste of the shakes but I just don't feel like I've eaten Grin iykwim! I havent had Bovril in years, my mother used to give it to us as children in the winter, maybe I should give it a go. Anyway I'm finished my porridge now and will be heading to work shortly!

PissyPantsNameChange · 26/06/2018 12:45

Oh my gosh! I am struggling. I just want to eat loads and loads of food.

I just don't feel like I've eaten with shakes but if I eat anything il want more and more and more.

I can't ignore it Sad

Ronnyhotdog · 26/06/2018 13:03

You can ignore it, have a glass of water then find something to keep you busy.

donniemurdo · 26/06/2018 13:47

may I join in? I'm doing Exante but managed to put on 1lb in the first week!! This is likely to be a combination of the meal I went out for on Saturday which included drinking and having the same problem as PissyPants. I just keep feeling the need to snack and drinking water isn't cutting it :-)

Hoping that joining with you lovely folk will give me some inspiration and accountability!

UninspiringUserName · 26/06/2018 14:04

Bravo Tyrion, I'm in awe of your perseverance! I'm just hoping I can emulate your stamina and success.

I'm now on day 3 and getting on OK. I do feel oddly emotional about it - just shows how much I rely on food for far more than fuel. I had the Thai Green Curry pack last night which was surprisingly awesome, which made me happy. I'm so hoping to do this in secret, fingers crossed, with only one friend at work and my husband knowing, but not sure how that's going to pan out. Are you all being open about it? If not, what are your excuses for not eating/drinking/socialising?

UninspiringUserName · 26/06/2018 14:06

donnie, you poor love. That must have been gutting but you sound very upbeat and focussed so go you! I'm just focussed on glugging water and how fab I'll feel when there's considerably less of me!

Good luck for this week, you can smash it!

Ronnyhotdog · 26/06/2018 14:33

uninspiring I haven’t told anyone in Work about it. I already had the self imposed rule of no snacking at work so nobody has noticed I’m not eating. I spend most of my lunch hour outside, when I come back people must think I’ve eaten. I have made excuses about being busy for social occasions though to avoid any conversation about why I’m not eating or drinking.
My family know about it and 1 friend and that’s it. People will judge and I don’t need the lectures while I’m in the mind set of getting the weight off.

Wetdogloveshubert · 26/06/2018 15:19

People are surprisingly opinionated about this! I've had some interesting conversations with friends since starting, but it's my body so I know that this has to be better than fattening myself up constantly over the years.

You're all doing great - keep going. If you are struggling with plain water, try putting a slice of something in it? Cucumber, lemon, lime, mint even?

UninspiringUserName · 26/06/2018 16:25

Thanks so much Ronny, I'm trying to do it very under the radar too. I won't mind admitting it once the weight's shifting and I feel confident about the choice I've made, but right now I don't want anyone being negative.

And wetdog, I so know what you mean. Everyone's an expert on diet!

TyrionLannistersShadow · 26/06/2018 22:16

Thanks so much uninspired , it's been hard but every time I start flagging I tell myself that losing weight is hard but so is being fat, and that really resonated with me.
I was so proud of myself today. I made choc biscuit cake for my dds class and even though my fingets were sticky with chocolate and I had sweets all round me, I never gave in Grin. I didn't so much as lick my fingers, and I really LOVE cbc lol.

Notsurprisedatall · 27/06/2018 05:04

I broke and had KFC Sad I weigh 2 lbs more after it, hoping it comes off asap.

I'm really beginning to get bored of the meals now 9 weeks in, I don't think I can face them anymore.

UninspiringUserName · 27/06/2018 07:39

Can I ask for some advice? I'm on day 4 of Cambridge and have stuck to it 100%. Not a single waver from the plan. I weight myself daily, it's a habit I'm in and it helps me to stay focused on the task in hand. Morning of day 2, I weighed and had lost 3lbs overnight. Wonderful! Yesterday morning - still the same. This morning - still the same. So after three full days, I'm still just 3lbs down. Please tell me this is normal and there'll be a bigger loss to come as I don't think I could bear being the person that 600 calories a day doesn't work for. I'll have run out of options...

I'm sticking with it, and will dig deep today as I'm joining my children at sports day for a picnic, but I don't mind admitting I feel a little dispirited...

Ronnyhotdog · 27/06/2018 08:49

uninspiring this was me. Weigh in every day and the scale wasn’t budging as much as I hoped. It’s a habit for me too & very hard to crack. It sounds odd to say but I’m addicted to it. In the 3rd week my husband has put the scales somewhere I can’t reach. Last week was hard but it felt so good to get on the scale and see the bigger drop. I’m still finding it hard, I want to get on the scales everyday. This week is easier than last but I’m eager for Monday to come round again.
I know we are all different but I’d say stop weighing daily. 3lb in 3 days is pretty good going really. I couldn’t lose that in a week if I was doing weight watchers or similar. Try not to get down about it.

TyrionLannistersShadow · 27/06/2018 09:02

uninspiring don't give up, the weight will come off. I know it's disheartening sometimes seeing other people lose 1 stone plus in their first week but you just have to ignore that and be glad with what you lose. I never have big losses either but all those 2, 3 and occasionally 4 lb, ones add up until a few weeks in you're a stone down. Look, all of us with weight issues know just how you feel but there's no miracle cure, no diet that'll get rid of the fat overnight or in a week. It's a slog no matter how you do it but just remember how hard it is being fat, not fitting into clothes etc, losing weight is hard too so which 'hard' do you want to choose. Best of luck, you can do it!

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 27/06/2018 09:10

Notsurprisedatall you're doing great 9 weeks on the plan is excellent, try not to focus on one negative thing that's happened. I'm inspired by the posters who've kept going for as long as you.

UninspiringUserName I like weighing daily too, although I'm trying not to get on every day now.
This week I was stuck at 1.5lbs every time I jumped on the scales, then when I did my official weight in for this week I was 4lb down.

Lost 17lb total now in 3 weeks.

amusedbush · 27/06/2018 10:11

Don't worry about it, the weight will drop off once you're established in ketosis and burning fat for energy.

I'm on day 12 and actually up a quarter pound this morning, which I think is due to a lack of water yesterday and... ahem... a bit of constipation Blush

However I went to Burger King with a friend last night and while she got food, I sat with a Fanta Zero. Not technically allowed but I'm so bloody proud of myself. I swear I could have downed a bacon cheeseburger and some mozzarella sticks in less than a minute!

Wetdogloveshubert · 27/06/2018 13:11

Well done amusedbush that's great! And Tyrion - I had similar at the weekend, making ice cream. Not so much as a lick. It takes SO MUCH willpower!

Some great advice on here, and I'm impressed with all of you. Sticking with it (even with 'slips') is hard work, but worth it. The weight will come off.

Daal pot for lunch today - not bad Smile stinking up the office though...

UninspiringUserName · 27/06/2018 17:43

Thank you all so much for the support and general cheering along. I'm sticking with it, and managed the family picnic at school sports day on just water, so I'm feeling pretty proud.

I really do hope that I get into ketosis soon and the damned fat start whooshing off! I'm not getting any metallic taste yet, and I don't have anything could resemble carb flu, but did have a hideous headache for days 2 and 3. Still waiting for that astounding burst of energy too.

Tyrion, you're absolutely right. I think I've pinned all my hopes on this being some kind of miracle cure, and the idea that it still may come off slowly is gutting, but off is off, I guess.

amused, minnie and ronny, the daily weighing will be a tricky one to break, but I think I need to, for my sanity. It's definitely made me feel glum today when I was hoping for a big result. I'm getting weighed on Sat evening (day 6) so will try to save it for then.

Thanks all - and the message about choosing my hard is too accurate. Give me slim and peckish rather than full and fat any day!

Itsmeaga1n · 27/06/2018 22:49

I lost the plot for a few days/ weeks but am now trying again as i hate the way i look.

I did have chips today because I'd promised my son who is visiting some, but i didn't have many. Otherwise I've only had two shakes. I'd forgotten how ill i feel on carbs too so really need to stop eating them.

I wanted to have 3 Exante meals and a low carb meal in the evening but i lost control of quantities again Sad so will stick to shakes for now.

TyrionLannistersShadow · 28/06/2018 07:52

Week 9 weigh in and I'm down 2.1kg or just over 4 and a half pounds which I'm thrilled about. Although tbh half that must be water I've sweated out in the heat here! So I'm down 13.8kgs in total or 30lbs ! I'm still overweight but boy can I feel the difference esp in the warm weather.
