8lbs in 12 days is very encouraging to hear, Ronny.
I actually went and ate something and finished on 950. I suck at this.Sad

Wetdogloveshubert · 16/06/2018 21:05

Penelope don't get downhearted, get straight back on the horse tomorrow and feel good. You're making change, not whipping yourself for any slipup. We're with you.

And you amused. Good luck.

PenelopeFlintstone · 17/06/2018 01:22

Thanks Wetdog. I will. I'll hold off eating in the morning and push all meals back a bit later, and see how that goes.

amusedbush · 17/06/2018 10:14

Day one done and I’m 4lbs down overnight Smile looking forward to pushing through this week into ketosis, as I know how good I’ll feel on day 6/7 and beyond. Also looking forward to my first ‘official’ weigh in next week!

The Exante products have definitely improved in the three years since I last used them. They used to be salty (even the sweet ones) due to the mineral concentration but the ones I had yesterday were absolutely fine.

PenelopeFlintstone · 17/06/2018 13:15

'Wow" at Amused!! Great start!

amusedbush · 17/06/2018 13:20

Whoops, that was actually a typo! I lost 5lbs this morning!

Last time I did VLCD I lost 8lbs in the first week so I may be on course to smash that Grin

Wetdogloveshubert · 17/06/2018 13:48

That is an impressive start @amusedbush. I still feel pretty wiped out today, on day 7. Am I not drinking enough water? Should I feel better soon?

Ronnyhotdog · 17/06/2018 15:13

penelope I have my meals late so my evening meal is about 8pm. It’s helped me stop thinking about food all night.

amused that’s a great start

wetdog I’ll be on day 14 tomorrow and I’ve only just started feeling normal over the last 2 days. Still not got loads of energy but I don’t feel like I’m wading through quicksand anymore. My diet beforehand was very carb/sugar heavy and I’m putting it down to being a huge shock to the system.

ThatsWotSheSaid · 17/06/2018 18:46

I’ve just blended a chocolate shake with 100ml of water and some ice and it pretty much turned into a large bowl of ice cream... it could be the hunger talking but it was lush.

Wetdogloveshubert · 17/06/2018 22:33

Ronny that is hugely encouraging, thank you. The quicksand analogy is spot on. I can see my cheekbones tonight but the scales are unchanged. Meh.

I have decided to chuck the cherry shake mixes I have - they are disgusting to me and they're discouraging. Thats I quite like them with ice too, as long as they are the flavours I can vaguely enjoy.

Ronnyhotdog · 18/06/2018 06:25

2lb down so that’s 8lb in 2 weeks. I’ve never lost weight that quickly before, I’m unusually 1lb a week so I’m very pleased.
TMI, period started last night, I’ve got cramps, usually I’d be very hungry for chocolate, I’m hoping this stays away for a change.
How’s everyone else this morning?

Ronnyhotdog · 18/06/2018 06:26

That should be usually 1lb a week. Must read before hitting post!

ThatsWotSheSaid · 18/06/2018 07:38

Well done Ronny.
The biggest thing right now for me is how much my stomach has shrunk! It’s almost annoying to think I’ve been able to make such a difference in two weeks and I’ve been putting up with it all this time.
I’m feeling pretty positive about the diet at the moment I’m about 10lbs down and it feels do-able.
I’m thinking about the diet and losing weight a lot though, I feel slightly obsessed. I keep imaging what it going to be like to wear nice clothes etc.
My main goal currently is to not be obese, maybe by the end of this month.

ThatsWotSheSaid · 18/06/2018 07:39

wetdog - you could sell them on eBay?

GetInMyNelly · 18/06/2018 07:50

Watching with huge interest, in starting shake that weight at the end of this week!

amusedbush · 18/06/2018 13:15

Another 1lb down this morning, 6lbs total in two days.

The urge to binge is really strong today but I was walking to an appointment this morning and I kept catching sight of myself in windows. I look so, so overweight and that is helping me to push through and stay on the diet.

GetInMyNelly · 18/06/2018 13:29

@amusedbush that is amazing!!

Well done, keep going!!

GetInMyNelly · 18/06/2018 13:51

Okay so after reading others comments, I've decided to start my TFDR tomorrow! And a very close friend has enticed me with "il give you £300 if you lose 3st" Grin that's enough for me to lose weight!

Thisgirlcancancan · 18/06/2018 20:55

Hi,
Room for another...? I started Exante yesterday. I’ve done a week here and there before when I’ve needed to get holiday ready but I’ve put on a good 2 stone since last summer and I really want it gone plus another stone on top. I’ve been having a shake for breakfast, bar for lunch and shake for dinner. It’s fine just pretty boring.
Hope you’ve all been having a good Monday.

Ronnyhotdog · 19/06/2018 07:41

Morning all,
Good luck to the new starters Smile

Yesterday was hard, I think my mind was playing tricks on me “ it’s ok Ronny you can eat chocolate today, it will make those cramps feel better” I didn’t give in and the scales are 1lb down today.
My first aim is to get out of the obese range, I’m so nearly there. Hopefully by next Monday I’ll be overweight. I don’t think I’ve been overweight for 10 years, that sounds more positive than I mean Grin
Suns out today, shame Work will get in the way of enjoying it.
Have a good day. We’ll all be slimmer by the end of it.

amusedbush · 19/06/2018 09:11

Another 1lb off today, so 7lbs in three days and I’m back down a stone bracket Grin

Just 4st 13lbs until target Blush

Today is day four which is notoriously my make or break day, so I’m starting early on the water and I’m determined to push through. I know that ketosis isn’t far away if I keep going. Doing this while I’m off work for the week was definitely a good idea because I can just slob around and watch Netflix all day, whereas in the office I sit at my desk and pick at crap all day. I’ve had so many failed day ones at work Angry

Welcome all newbies!

Wetdogloveshubert · 19/06/2018 09:15

@Thatswotshesaid thanks I will give that a go, unless anyone on here wants some cherries and berries flavour shakes sent for free?

@Getinmynelly that's amazing! What an incentive!

@Ronnyhotdog well done on resisting. You're doing great.

Scales are playing tricks on me, so I'm being pragmatic about it and largely ignoring the numbers and going by how much less 'heavy' I feel today. My trousers are already a little looser. Thank goodness! I haven't been sleeping well on this, so I am looking forward to moving back to food already and sleeping again... more water probably needed?

Thisgirlcancancan · 19/06/2018 10:13

Well done to those who have lost and also well done to wetdog so easy to give up when you’re trying so hard and the scales aren’t budging.
I couldn’t resist weighing myself this morning, two days in and 4lbs down pretty pleased with that.
Had a chocolate shake before work. I bash about 8 ice cubes in a bag and then put the crushed ice, shake powder and some water in a blender so it comes out like ice cream and eat it from a spoon. Takes longer so feels like I’m having more of a meal. My only gripe is that a few months ago Exante changed the choc shake recipe and I don’t like the new version as much as the old one Sad. Got the chocolate caramel crunch bar for lunch and another ice creamy shake for dinner. Trying to drink lots of water and herbal teas in between. Definitely not in ketosis yet as I don’t have the metallic taste in my mouth yet. Hopefully a couple more days should do it.
Hope everyone is staying strong.

Wetdogloveshubert · 19/06/2018 12:24

It won't be long Thisgirl - I have had the metallic taste in my mouth for a few days now. It's not pleasant! The ice definitely makes the shakes more palatable though.

Does anyone know if sugar-free mints are okay to have?

GetInMyNelly · 19/06/2018 13:05

So I've had my first official shake!

It was surprisingly really nice.
Going to grab some fibre supplements just in case Blush

I'm struggling to plan the times to have all my shakes as I don't want any past 7pm as that is when I'd usually have dinner.

I'm on a 6 week plan which il extend to the full 12 weeks and then have a break.
