Hello,
I was wondering how much weight u fellow vlcd people have lost in the space of 10 weeks. I am planning to attend a friends wedding in 10 weeks and am attempting to loose weight. I am abit 5 stone overweight so i am desperate to loose some weight using exante till the wedding.
Looking forward to hearing your success stories.

I got the chilli and dahl in my order today. My favourite so far is the strawberry jam and yoghurt bar and the latte frappe shake.

Today I really struggled, ended up having 4 meals instead of 3 but better than binging on crap, right?

TyrionLannistersShadow · 14/06/2018 07:24

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting today's my week 7 weigh in and so far I've lost 11.5 kg or almost 25.5lbs which I'm thrilled about! I know lots of people lose way more but I'm more of a slow but steady loser. I've been doing the total solution plan, the 3 packs a day one, and I've been 100% on it since day 1. The plan really works , it's tough but you see results. My mantra whenever I am finding it difficult is 'losing weight is hard but so is being fat ', that makes me remember all the clothes that don't fit and all the times I fel fat and frumpy, and it stiffens my resolve again Wink

Ronnyhotdog · 14/06/2018 07:32

tyrion That’s brilliant, well done. I also love your mantra, I’ll be using that.
7 weeks in, do you sometimes still find it a struggle or is it easy at that point?

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 14/06/2018 08:20

That's great TyrionLannistersShadow well done.

I'm interested if there comes a point where it becomes second nature or if it's manageable but do-able.

Is total solution plan slim and save.

TyrionLannistersShadow · 14/06/2018 09:16

Total solution is Exante, I don't know anything about other vlcds but this one is 3 packs a day which is 600cals in total.
There have been times I struggled and found it hard but when that happens I just try to distract myself and focus on my goal. Often having a cup of tea or a big drink of water will fill my belly enough to stop me feeling hungry , or if it's at night then I'll go to bed and read. Also I crochet which is brilliant because it occupies my hands. Overall though I'd say I am grand most of the time, especially during the day as I'm busy and don't get time to think about it too much. My main problem was always snacking in the evening when I sat down and that was a hard habit to break. For the first few weeks I really wanted to eat in the evening but that craving has really lessened now and if I do get it then i have some tea or Tesco coke zero. It has become second nature now though and while I definitely do get hungry coming up to my meal times, once I've had my meal product then I'm grand again so tbh isn't that just like normal non vlcd life? Grin. I love not having to think about calorie intake or meal prep (for me, obv I'm still cooking for the rest of the family) , that's why it suits me.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 14/06/2018 10:21

Thanks TyrionLannistersShadow

I'm using some exante products, I'm on 600cal a day but my morning shake is a meal replacement by a different company, lunch is usually exante, I make my own 200 cal dinner and have couple of pieces of chicken or half a exante bar as a snack.

It's not as difficult as I thought but having said that, not sure I'll be able to keep it up for as long as you.

Also another one who thinks your mantra is great.

Ronnyhotdog · 14/06/2018 15:29

I had the shepherds pie for lunch today, awful. It tasted like pure sage, if you like eating stuffing by the spoon you might enjoy it.

amusedbush · 14/06/2018 15:43

My Exante stuff has arrived, ready for me to start on Saturday! I'm nervous because I've suffered through the first terrible week so many times so I know what I'm facing, but also excited to shift this weight and feel better about myself.

We go on holiday in 17 weeks and I'd love to be a good bit lighter by then.

amusedbush · 14/06/2018 15:43

Wait, it's 22 weeks Blush

Even better! Grin

DrinkReprehensibly · 14/06/2018 19:04

I'm on day 2 of Exante and finding it okay so far. I think it will probably get harder in the next few days. I had their sweet and sour noodles last night. I expected them to be like a mug shot or pot noodle but they came out as a weird mush and not that nice. Maybe I cooked them too long in the microwave. I've got another 4 packets of them so I have enough to practice with!

Wetdogloveshubert · 14/06/2018 19:30

Tyrion that is great! Well done on sticking with it. I'm only on day 4 and spent most of today feeling sluggish but suddenly perked up in the late afternoon. Is this the ketosis kick? It would be nice to feel 'thin' (slim/whatever not feeling fat feels like) again. On the downside all I can smell this evening is pizza and fresh bread. Damn carbs.

ThatsWotSheSaid · 14/06/2018 20:17

I’m doing okay today. So far having a shake for lunch and then a ‘meal’ like the daal or chilli with another shake seems to be working the best.
I bought a sistema shaker today and it’s really good for adding extra water and ice to shakes.
I did 5 days then had a weekend off for a special occasion then started again Monday.
So I’m going to say I’m on day 9. I’ve lost around 5lb but that’s with lots of booze on the weekend so I’m very pleased.

ohsoslim · 14/06/2018 21:10

If in uk- tune into itv again tonight
Group put onto exante and results are amazing!!

Wetdogloveshubert · 14/06/2018 22:31

I watched it too @ohsoslim - interesting results! Willpower, and a genuinely altered perception/physical need for food in going back to 'real' food has to be the key to maintaining a healthy weight once we've used the vlcd. Obvious, sure, but we are all here for reasons unrelated to greed.

BoldComicSans · 15/06/2018 07:31

1 week down with a couple of blips but 3lbs down and my stomach feels slightly smaller.

Ronnyhotdog · 15/06/2018 07:39

Well done bold , did you take measurements before starting? I didn’t but wish I had, I think the bulk around my stomach has shrunk considerably. I keep forgetting to buy a tape measure.

Wetdogloveshubert · 15/06/2018 09:11

I regret not doing starting measurements too - they are more helpful than scales! I'm certain even on day 5 that my abdomen has shrunk a little.

ThatsWotSheSaid · 15/06/2018 09:38

I’m on day 10 and my tummy has definitely shrunk! I feel lighter and more able to move around too. I think there are benefits very early on to all round health.

Ronnyhotdog · 15/06/2018 13:50

Is chewing gum ok to have? My mouth tastes gross today.

amusedbush · 15/06/2018 13:58

Ronnyhotdog

Officially no, but whenever I've done VLCD I've had milk, drank sugar free squash and had one can of diet drink a day and my losses have always been great!

I say have the chewing gum Grin

PenelopeFlintstone · 16/06/2018 04:54

Hi All, can I join? I've started today. I'll be doing Aldi shakes or a yoghurt, a morning coffee, plus vegetables if I need more. Wish me luck!! Smile

Ronnyhotdog · 16/06/2018 08:25

Hi penelope good luck.

PenelopeFlintstone · 16/06/2018 09:43

Thanks Ronnyhotdog.
I'm overseas but have finished the day at 750 cals (aiming for 800 like M.Moseley's BSD.

It's only 6.45pm so I still have a few hours left to not blow it!

amusedbush · 16/06/2018 11:48

Morning all.

Today is day one for me (again 🙄) and I’m actually excited to get through the next few days. I watched the second half of that ITV show about diabetes last night to get myself motivated Grin

I’ve had a bar and a coffee, and I’ve made a start on a big bottle of water. I’ve not decided yet if I’ll be doing the 600kcal plan (three packs a day) or the ‘man plan’ which adds a 200kcal low carb meal - I’ll see how I get on today. When I lost 40lbs in Cambridge in 2016 that was on the 800kcal plan the whole time so I know it works.

I weighed in this morning at 16st 6, just one pound lighter than my heaviest ever in 2016 Sad I can’t believe I’ve done this to myself again.

Ronnyhotdog · 16/06/2018 12:38

Good luck amused you know you can do it.

I’m on day 12 (I think) and 8lb down. I’m finding it much easier now. Still waiting for energy to return but the lightheaded feeling has gone which I can live with.
