Hello,
I was wondering how much weight u fellow vlcd people have lost in the space of 10 weeks. I am planning to attend a friends wedding in 10 weeks and am attempting to loose weight. I am abit 5 stone overweight so i am desperate to loose some weight using exante till the wedding.
Looking forward to hearing your success stories.

Just had another incentive to lose weight. A pal visited Tupelo and sent me a t shirt ! Its slim fitting.......ouch!!
Time for this fat soldier to keep to her mission!

Bievblac · 02/06/2018 10:01

Hello guys! I am totally new to mumsnet and I have started the Cambridge diet yesterday. I’ve had my first shake this morning and I am not going to lie, I could eat the kids and partner right now 😳

Newme2016 · 02/06/2018 10:22

Hi Bievblac,

Day 1 for me too on the Cambridge diet. I did try to start on Tuesday, but had night out on Thursday and wanted to enjoy it, so officially starting today.

What shake did you have? I like the mint chocolate ones, I have it hot and it’s like hot chocolate!

I have about 4 stones to lose, but I am hoping for 37lbs before mid August for my holidays!

Good luck for today, I am hoping by Tuesday I will have got over the worse bit!

Wetdogloveshubert · 02/06/2018 22:53

Well the #bigcrashdiet programme qas also a kick in the arse for me to seek out the military approach (or not) and effectively give someone else the main responsibility to cook for me, so I have purchased two weeks' worth of exante shakes.

Wish me luck! I have hit 13 stone and want to get back to my wedding weight of 10.5. Ambitious maybe, but I hate being fat. It's affecting me in so many ways (pun unintended) and you guys have inspired me. I will pick up my Paul McKenna cd again and see if I can use them together to retrain my food thoughts.

Keep at it, please, to help us all along?

maskingtape · 03/06/2018 15:27

I start Cambridge tomorrow. Dreading it but excited at the same time. I have a minimum of 6 stone to lose but would look better losing 7-7.5 stone. I'm hoping this is it this time. Hopefully I'll lose the majority by Christmas.

Is there a maximum time you should do Cambridge shakes for?

NoCanoe · 03/06/2018 16:22

Hey, newcomers!!! Grab a seat or hang onto a rail......Grin

I ruined this weekend. Had some bad news , so fell into a barrel of beer, wine and cognac. In that order. At least i took it steady! Hmm
I wish i was joking......Sad

Fresh mission tomorrow! Hoo- haa!!
Havent a clue if thats what the military say....but it sounds similar! Confused

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 03/06/2018 21:04

Well done to everyone who's doing vlcd's

Sorry to hear you've had bad news nocanoe

I'd like to join you all. Think my meal replacements arrive Wednesday, so start Thursday or maybe following MondayBlush.

Might get some of the exante products too for a bit of variety in a while.

I need to lose 7.5stone to be in the middle of my bmi. Would be happy with 4, ecstatic with 5 stoneGrin

TooOldToSpringBack85 · 04/06/2018 08:22

Welcome to all the newbies... hopefully we can keep everyone going with the added support!

@nocanoe oh I’m really sorry to hear that... as someone who has chronic depression & ptsd i know only too well how a downer can off rail you... best thing I’ve learnt is get back on the wagon soon as...

I too had a large pizza and 3 glasses of red this weekend after a very stressful & chaotic experience with my family/ back home but I got straight back to the shakes next day... if anything I’ve learnt you cannot nurse a horrible hangover without stodgy food, so moral of my errors is... don’t do it 😂

Feel better @nocanoe!! I’m cheering for you!! Hoo-Haa!! Had me in fits of laughter!! Reminded me of that song wild boys Duran Duran... sounds like hoohaa in the chorus 😆

We can do it!! Wishing everyone a great week xx

rainbowgrimm · 04/06/2018 18:16

Hello, can I join you? Day 3 of slim & save over here. Initial plan is to get 3stone off ASAP so I can be eligible for some surgery before IVF.
I found the first 2days pretty easy, right now I want to nibble though so trying to distract myself.

ChampagneCommunist · 04/06/2018 19:04

Another newcomer here; I'm on day 4, after watching Big Crash Diet.

I'm doing XLS, three vanilla shakes per day. Very dull.

I have zero willpower for the "eat sensibly & lose 1lb per week for the next 100 years" approach; so am doing quick (by comparison) and brutal.

1 kilo lost; 22 to go before I have a normal BMI

TyrionLannistersShadow · 04/06/2018 23:26

I sorted out my wardrobe at the weekend and it was so great to see all the clothes I've not been able to wear for the past year. I've been living in tracksuit bottoms and leggings for months but today I wore a pair of knee length shorts and felt great. Tee shirts that were stuck to me only 6 weeks ago are loose on me now and it's such an incentive to keep going. I know my dh would rather I stopped now because it is a bit restrictive for meals out etc but he supports me so says nothing. It was our wedding anniversary recently and usually we'd get a takeaway or go out for dinner but obviously this year we didn't, I've promised we will once I finish.

I'm actually finding it grand at the moment, I'm not too hungry in between meals and even if I am hungry, once I eat I'm full. I've just ordered another 2 weeks worth and have 1 weeks worth left here so I'll definitely do it for the next 3 weeks and see how I am then. That'll bring me up to the end of June ish and dd will be finishing up school so it's like the proper start of summer so to speak. My mil always holds a big family bbq during the summer and I'm looking forward to going to it and not feeling embarrassed about my weight like I've done at the last few occasions. I know I'm still overweight but it's amazing how much better I feel with even just a stone and a half off.
Good luck to everyone doing a vlcd, stick at it. My mantra is ' losing weight is hard but so is being fat ' and every time I feel like slipping I repeat that to myself and it always does the trick.

Wetdogloveshubert · 05/06/2018 07:40

I suspect that the big companies have struggled to keep up with demand as exante is still 'awaiting stock'... I really want delivery so I can get on with this!

Wetdogloveshubert · 05/06/2018 07:42

Well done Tyrion! You are doing brilliantly - your enthusiasm is really encouraging.

ChampagneCommunist · 05/06/2018 09:19

Another kilo gone!

I have realised, reading this, that I am not drinking enough water, so my goal today is 4ltr. I will be peeing like a horse!!

Wetdogloveshubert · 05/06/2018 10:47

Great work @ChampagneCommunist!

ohsoslim · 05/06/2018 10:59

Hi all- been a while since I posted, but still here! 11lb off in total in 5 weeks on exante- been 100% on it until last two weekends- gotta live too!! up and down by about 3lbs- pretty disappointed with slow results however not hungry and find it actually quite easy to stick too- plenty of variety- going to stick Monday- Friday until end of june- when holidays mean a complete blow out!!!Grin

ChampagneCommunist · 05/06/2018 15:05

Just bought myself some Ketostix for about £5.00 from Lloyds Chemists and I have traces of ketones, which I am taking to be A Good Thing

Ronnyhotdog · 05/06/2018 16:39

Hi everyone,
Mind if I join in? I’m on day 1 of Exante but I had some celebrity slim shakes in from last summer so I had those yesterday so really it day2 overall.
I had the berry yogurt for breakfast which I couldn’t finish because it was bloody awful. Very odd texture. I’ve not had lunch yet because I’m a bit worried I’ll hate that too.
I’m aiming to lose 2stone before I go away in August. My husband is doing it too but he only has a stone to lose so he’s doing 2 meal replacements and a low carb meal. Hoping I’ll find it easier with his support.
Do any of you weigh daily? I have a bit of a habit that I can’t break, husband thinks it’ll make me fall off the wagon if I keep doing it.

rainbowgrimm · 05/06/2018 18:50

Hi Ronny, I am weighing every day. I read some research recently (can't remember where) that weighing daily works better psychologically for some people. It seems to for me.
I'm on day 4 - 6lb off so far. No hunger yet which I'm realised surprised by.
Those that have checked - how long did it take for you to be in ketosis?

ChampagneCommunist · 05/06/2018 19:56

I weigh daily; first thing in the morning after having a wee!

I am on day 5 and got "trace" with my Ketostix; had a metallic taste in my mouth for a few days though

Mumelie · 05/06/2018 20:05

Hi everyone. Day 2 now on exante - which was better than day 1! I'm on the man plan so 3 packs and a low cal low carb meal. There has been points when I'm starving and my tummy feels like a washing machine (hope this settles down).
I weigh daily - keeps me on the straight and narrow! Was pretty pleased to see 3.5lbs down this morning after just 1 day!
Meal wise I can't do shakes/smoothies - can't bear the thought. Really nice so far have been toffee, raisin bar, maple pecan flapjack, chicken fajita and sweet & sour noodles. Really grim was the veg soup - made me feel really ill yesterday 🤢

pigpoglet · 05/06/2018 20:07

I watched the programme and decided to try eating 8-900 cals a day ..
Genuine question but why don't you just eat 800 cals of food ? I've had some lovely meals and don't feel hard done by .
I'm using my fitness pal to log everything .

ChampagneCommunist · 05/06/2018 21:03

@pigpoglet I think many of us have lost sight of what a normal portion is, so would actually eat far more than 800 cals

pigpoglet · 05/06/2018 21:16

Ah ok , it's all ok the packaging though .

Mumelie · 05/06/2018 21:23

I'm doing it because after 20 odd years of cooking for a family and trying to diet I'm sick to death of thinking about food 😂. It's giving me a break from all that planning.
