Hello,
I was wondering how much weight u fellow vlcd people have lost in the space of 10 weeks. I am planning to attend a friends wedding in 10 weeks and am attempting to loose weight. I am abit 5 stone overweight so i am desperate to loose some weight using exante till the wedding.
Looking forward to hearing your success stories.

Hi all, I’ve been following a couple VLCD threads here with interest for some time.. landed on here while it’s still going...

@nocanoe you have been inspiring, encouraging & hilariously funny... so thank you! 😊 hope you’re having a successful week!!

Started Exante 18th April and lost 3lb so far... I’m not going to moan & compare which is horribly irritating to read... just popped on for encouragement & support!

I should also mention that I’m on 200mg sertraline & have been since 2014, which has definitely contributed to 3st weight gain. I’m 32 and 5ft2 and at my heaviest 11.6st.

Ive been desperately trying to spring back into shape which I think I should have addressed sooner... and listened to my mum as it really is bloody difficult the older I But Chronic depression...

I’ve been so desperate I have also looked into Saxenda (currently on my second prescription) this alone helped to shift 6lb over first 6 weeks, then began VLCD and lost 3lb in 4 weeks...

Essentially I’m curious to know if anyone else is on antidepressants & has the same uphill struggle as me?

Thanks for posting everyone! I check everyday & you all keep me going! Xxx

How is everybody doing? 😊

ohsoslim · 21/05/2018 13:38

Ooh - bad weekend- new week new start- weigh in tomorrow- see exactly how much damage was done!Blush

TooOldToSpringBack85 · 22/05/2018 18:40

In the same boat as you @ohsoslim few cheeky G&Ts watching the Royal wedding... back on the wagon!
Hope your weigh in was positive! 😊

ohsoslim · 22/05/2018 23:12

Stayed same after bad weekend- so back on the wagon now and hope to see some more progress this week!!Grin

TooOldToSpringBack85 · 23/05/2018 13:14

@ohsoslim oh that’s good, no gain after a slip is always a good thing! I’m too nervous to weigh...

I definitely notice that I’m always better behaved when on shakes as oppose to bars... anyone else notice that? I suppose because my bars make want to snack on nuts & crackers later in the day-despite drinking 2+ litres of water a day... keep at it everyone... hope everyone has great success before we see June! 🤩

TyrionLannistersShadow · 24/05/2018 07:40

Week 4 and I'm down 0.8kg, it's so slow! It's 7kg altogether so 15 and a half pounds which of course I'm delighted about but why oh why am I losing such small amounts when I'm eating 600 cals a day ! I've ordered another 2 weeks so I'll see how I am then and decide what to do.

ohsoslim · 24/05/2018 08:09

@TyrionLannistersShadow I sooo know what you mean!!! I am a week behind you and 11lbs down- seems like it should be so much more considering how little I'm eating!! I am going to stick with it tho, as I find it can be done easily enough as I'm not too hungry, and keep telling myself if it comes off slowly then will stay off- not sure if that's true but I'm convincing myself! Maybe it's an age thing? I used to respond far better to crash diets. I'm going to stick as far as possible to it for another 3/4 weeks- and reassess then!!😁 good luck

NoCanoe · 24/05/2018 13:04

Duh...this ol' wagon been a bumpy ride of late! In fact, it so far in distance all I can see is a hazy dust trail!!

I got a summer virus. Did it help? Nope!! I lay in bed feeling sorry for myself and put weight on! Self pity clearly contains calories!

I am back at it tomorrow....Time is not on my side!!

And welcome to @toooldtospring ! Always good to get more on board as we go along! Wish I had better news for you!! (sad)

But not given up... have decided to portion out my days from tomorrow in terms of shakes ( mix up the flavours) and add in a bar here and there, though I still heave at the oxo cube flavoured one! I will try that again and if it doesn't work...Im giving up on it.

I will pretend I am on an army survival mission and have a bag of food to pick up and use as and when per day....

TyrionLannistersShadow · 24/05/2018 15:04

ohsoslim i definitely agree with you about the age thing. When I was younger I could lose it much more easily, I used to lose 1 to 2 kg a week by just cutting down a bit but now it's such a struggle. Since I turned 40 I find my body just hangs on to every excess pound and all the weight loss techniques that worked before don't work anymore. I'm still sticking at it though, it's coming off albeit slowly and tbh what choice do I have! I actually don't find it too hard, some evenings I'm starving but mostly I can cope. The hard bit is not being able to go out for dinner etc. It's our wedding anniversary today and usually we'd get a takeaway or something but not this time. My dh is very good though, he never complains.

Newme2016 · 27/05/2018 14:57

Hi, can I please join you?
Starting the Cambridge diet on Tuesday. Need to lose at least 4 stone, but would love to have lost over 2 stone by the middle of August (going on holiday).
Hope everyone is doing well over the bank holiday weekend!

NoCanoe · 27/05/2018 16:04

Welcome aboard @Newme !!
Im struggling - like others have mentioned, age certainly plays a part! And ive been lazy, but not only is my June event creeping ever closer, so is holiday time! Im hoping a winter sun holiday will be the way to go this year!! Gives me to December to shed the flubber!
Wink

Newme2016 · 27/05/2018 19:16

Thanks NoCanoe!
I think age and an under active thyroid will not help me either, but I need to try. I know I will hate myself if I go on holiday this size. Would love to be back in a size 14 for my hols!
Have a few social events too, but I need to live too. Will try to be good as best as I can!
What plan are you following?

NoCanoe · 27/05/2018 19:48

Exante. Im eyeing up my shakes at the mo.......going to portion them out so i dont end up with my least favourite flavours all bunched up at the end.

NoCanoe · 27/05/2018 19:49

Please remember perfection is not required!! Wink

Newme2016 · 27/05/2018 22:01

Thanks NoCanoe,

Best advice ever. I am starting Tuesday, but I have a night out with my friend on Thursday! Going to enjoy it - I need to have a life too!
I have another friend who did exante, she did very well on it. Hope you choose the right one for tonight!

TooOldToSpringBack85 · 30/05/2018 18:29

Great to hear from you @nocanoe! Sorry to hear you were ill ...hopefully the down time should act as a reboot & you have a whopping loss after all!!

I have my anniversary in June too, so also gunning for some weight loss by mid month fingers crossed... since my last weigh in of -3 I’m pretty much stuck... but plodding along and hoping & praying for that elusive WHOOSH effect... they say it’s when you’re just about to give up, that you suddenly begin to reap the rewards!!

Love your military mentality!! I actually did that..line up 3 packs per day and it definitely kept me focused! So there’s definitely some good in that school of thought!!!

8 weeks inand -3lb down not going to grumble but at least I’it’s not a gain!!

Hoping for skinny June!! Good luck!! Keep at it!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Chelseapool · 30/05/2018 20:41

Hello all, I'm watching the TV programme about crash diets at the moment and I'm looking at trying it. I've stumbled across this thread and the Exante diet. Before I order can someone summarise what you are allowed on this diet please? I can't see they have an offer to buy 42 items for £35. I'm not sure how many of what a day you are allowed?

Mumelie · 30/05/2018 21:57

Hi everyone
Me and DH are starting exante on Monday - just ordered 2 weeks worth of products. He has 6 stone to lose and I have 3. As with meals I expect he'll beat me Grin
He's always been overweight but mine is on in the last year mostly due to arthritis and meds. I'm desperate to get it off and be back to a size 12.
I'm terrified of being overly hungry - any tips? That mid afternoon slump always hits - I often reach for chocolate.
Looking at the website I think it's just the 3 meal replacements a day (at least for my first stone) so 600 cals. I may add in a small undressed salad so I feel I'm getting some green stuff!

TyrionLannistersShadow · 31/05/2018 07:56

chelseapool and mumelie good luck starting. It's 3 packs per day for the total solution plan on exante and my best tip is to stick rigidly to it, no extra food etc, it's designed to work exactly as it is and adding stuff might throw you out of ketosis. The first week is the hardest but if you can get through that and see the weight loss then I find it gets easier. The ketosis means you don't feel hungry most of the time, just remember to drink lots of water. Best of luck.
Today is my week 5 weigh in and I'm down 2kg or 4.5 lbs which I'm thrilled about. Tgat brings me up to 9kg or almost 20lbs in total. Feeling very good about it this morning !

Chelseapool · 31/05/2018 08:32

Wow Tyrion that’s amazing! So, the exante plan has shakes soups and bars. Can you have 3 soups a day? 3 shakes or do you have to have 1 one of each per day? I’m not sure how you mix and match the packs.

TyrionLannistersShadow · 31/05/2018 16:15

Thanks chelseapool , lots of people lose loads more than me so I'm very happy with 9kgs!
On the total solution plan you can have any 3 products a day you want. I have a breakfast, usually something like Apple and cinnamon porridge , for lunch I have either a shake or a bar, then for dinner I have one of the meal packs ie Indian curry, spag bol, chilli etc. The beauty of it is that you can mix and match however you like. Some people say too many bars can affect weight loss, so that's why I alternate witha shakefor lunch. Also lots of the bars affect my stomach, they give me dreadful wind and pains. The crumble type ones seem fine though, it's the paste ones that kill me! I know some people have only shakes but I don't think I could do that for long, I like some solid (ish ) food :)

NoCanoe · 31/05/2018 17:17

Can i just say ive still to get over that bluddy oxo tasting bar? I have them in the fridge - as suggested- but my stomach turns everytime i look at them!

Ive tried a couple of bars. Yet to be impressed.

And some of shakes need far more water if you dont want to gag with the sickly sweetness.

Trial and error, as they say, .....

Ive yet to find new batteries for bathroom scales, btw! I think DH has hidden them ! Hmm Clever man!

TyrionLannistersShadow · 31/05/2018 17:59

Oh yes re the shakes, they say add 200mls of water or something but I add about 450 mls(however much the shaker thingy holds) and it's much nicer.

Mumelie · 31/05/2018 21:01

Thanks for the info Tyrion. All our packs arrived today - really quick service as only ordered late last night!
My DH is going to do the 'Man Plan' on exante - so he can eat another 200cals a day from a list of low carb foods (or just pick another pack). It says women can do this too if bmi over 25 so if I struggle with just the 3 food packs I'll try that.
I'm off to the dr to check I'm ok to do this on all my meds (better than being really overweight though).
Our fridge freezer packed up today - funny timing! Wish it had waited til Monday
