Hello, welcome to the third instalment of the ‘Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017’ thread. As we’re getting closer to the end of 2017, I’ve added 2018 for good measure Smile

If you want to read them (but by no means feel obliged!), the first and second threads are here: Part 1 and here: Part 2

We’re a very friendly, supportive group, and I think we’re all seeing some real changes in ourselves and our attitudes to food. It’s a long old road, but it helps to chat along the way Wink Collectively, we’ve lost 612 lbs since the start of the first thread, which is pretty amazing Grin

We tend to weigh in on Fridays or Saturdays, but feel free to join in at any time, with whatever weight loss method you think works best for you. Some of us have lost more than others, but we're all in this together, so if you're losing, gaining or staying the same, it's nice to have some inspiration to keep going.

We’re always welcoming to newcomers, but as with the previous thread, I will make one caveat - we’re all here because we are trying to lose a LOT of weight. If you’re looking to lose the last half stone, or even two or three stone, this might not be the thread for you. Good luck with your goals, but you may find more support with in threads with people who have similar goals.

And with that, I'm off to spam our old thread to fill it up Grin

Why not forego the butter but instead add in a couple of slices of chicken / turkey / ham to up your protein.

Celery is quite a strong taste. What about something like carrot and cucumber sticks? To add some bulk if nothing else.

Those porridge pots are small and generally quite sugary. You could make plain porridge yourself, with water and then add a small squeeze of honey and some fruit. Or if you don’t like the fruit then a small handful of raisins perhaps.

He pasta sauce sounds brilliant. Don’t hold back - really bulk it with veg and we’ve yourself up a decent portion. Presumably you are using 1 cal spray oil? If not, then please dl. There is no need for oil in a sauce like that - it will simply add a load of calories and fat up your diet.

As for dessert, if you don’t like my Greek yoghurt with fruit suggestion, what about an options hot chocolate?

fezzesarecool · 13/03/2018 20:45

Thanks again everyone, I need to still down and really plan it out for tomorrow (if dd ever gets to bloody sleep!)

I’m liking the idea of scrambled eggs for lunch!

Lol yeah I have been liquidating vegetables into my sauces.

Would a homemade fruit smoothie be a good idea for a mid morning snack? Then I can sneak some fruit into my day.

And congratulations honey on the BMI!

When I did SW, smoothies were seen as work of the devil. The theory was that you're unlikely to eat as much whole fruit in one sitting as you can drink once it's liquidised, and fruit is quite sugary. I'm still wary of them now for that reason, but as long as you find them filling, and have them instead of a snack and not as well as, then it may well work for you.

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 13/03/2018 21:11

I could never be fucked to clean the blender, hence no smoothies in this house - by the time it was made, and everything cleaned down, I was thoroughly bored of the whole thing Grin

I'm about to post the new thread - will add a link on this thread too.
