Anyone doing one at the moment?

I've started exante this morning. Last year I lost 3 stone with Cambridge but Exante is loads cheaper. No meeting though so I need moral support if any one can give it!

Starting weight 249.2lb. Awful I know so no need to tell me.

Hi Buxton!

I find two months is about my diet limit as well and then stuff starts to creep back in.

I did 'cheat' and have a packet of cold prawns for my dinner, but they were 100 cal for the pack and I get an extra 100 cal on Wednesdays as energy for sports tonight. It all evens out!

Msqueen33 · 31/05/2017 18:28

My last VlCD lasted four months. Could kick myself as I was about 11 pounds off goal weight now I'm more like four stone.

CBG17 · 31/05/2017 19:39

Today I've had:

Cambridge choc tetra shake with a shot of coffee
ASDA crunchy choc bar
ASDA choc milkshake (which you make with skim milk, not water)
165g cold cooked prawns
Decaf black coffee
3+L water.

Weigh in day tomorrow!

Msqueen33 · 31/05/2017 20:14

Good luck on weigh day @CBG17 I weigh most days so the number shocks me enough to stay away from naughty food

Buxtonstill · 31/05/2017 21:46

My weigh day is Friday. I have been really strong today and think I have got a little motivation back! I am so lucky as my doctor has agreed to fund 6 months of Optifast. I couldn't afford it otherwise as it is around £10 a day, although you can only get it on prescription here in the UK. I believe you can buy it outright in Aus and the US..I can't waste this chance I have. It's the same stuff they give to patients prior to bariatric surgery so they can lose a bit before the op.

CBG17 · 31/05/2017 22:39

Is this the one you're on? ASDA sells it.

I also weigh most days (def keeps me on track) but tomorrow is recording day.

Well today is the first day I've woken up hungry.

I try to wait until lunch to have my first product, so we'll see how I am in an hour or so.

Rockchick1984 · 01/06/2017 11:20

I'm such an idiot - woke up starving hungry today, and realised that I'd forgotten to have my shakes yesterday! Only things I'd had all day was water, coffee, and one VLCD bar!!! Guessing that means I'm in Ketosis as otherwise I'd have been hungry all day yesterday Smile

CBG17 · 01/06/2017 12:04

Oh no! I've had that happen a couple of times - not completely forgetting to eat but having to make a conscious effort to have my third item at about 8/8:30 in the evening.

Pineapple11 · 01/06/2017 12:13

Can I join in?
I have just started exante. I have lost 5lbs in just under two weeks so far even if I haven't strictly stuck to diet I have about 5 stone to lose.

Buxtonstill · 01/06/2017 12:14

No, its Optifast, prescription only. But probably the exact same ingredients as Slimfast. And I don't have to pay prescription charges as I have long term illness (diabetes).
I also get on the scales every day! and this morning I had lost half a pound from yesterday!

Buxtonstill · 01/06/2017 12:32

I think the shakes are the easiest thing to do as I work, and I can't be arsed to make salads etc before I leave in the morning. All I have to do is wash the shaker up!

Buxtonstill · 01/06/2017 13:04

I have another 9 stone to lose, but I am just concentrating on the next one. I started at 21 stone. and currently hovering at 19 stone. I just want to break through that buggering 19 stone barrier and be on my way to 18 stones!

HerRoyalFattyness · 01/06/2017 16:18

Today isn't going great
I'm really unwell.
I think my body is craving sugar for energy.

So today is not great.
But one bad day isn't the end of the world is it?
I'll just pick up where I left off tomorrow.

Buxtonstill · 01/06/2017 16:21

Don't see it as ruining your diet. It's just one day.

PetraDelphiki · 01/06/2017 16:26

How do you all cope with family meals? Dh would hate it if he was sitting there with me just eating a shake or a bar...

CBG17 · 01/06/2017 17:01

Ah, sorry Buxton. But yes, you're right. You can buy it OTC (and maybe even at supermarkets) in Aus (home for me).

As for family meal times, my DS is 3 and eats a lot earlier than me and DH and as he is meant to be doing it as well it isn't really a problem. Otherwise he has a ready meal or something simple and I have my bar.

We both work full time and one does early and one late to facilitate nursery pick up and drop offs so we aren't usually home and fussing about dinner at the same time anyway.

Went out today and forgot to take something with me. Was feeling rather peckish! But I've had one of my shakes now and will have two more things (probably 1 bar and 1 shake) later.

CBG17 · 01/06/2017 20:26

Another day down. 5L water, 3 CWP products. Tried three new products: lemon bar, toffee and walnut shake and cherry and strawberry smoothie. All passable!

Weighed in at 15st 2.5lb. 11.5lb in 12 days. Coming close to that stone!

Msqueen33 · 01/06/2017 21:34

Day three. Hungry, slightly dizzy and with a dry mouth. I do however feel slimmer. The kids have been little beasts and before I'd have run for food but have avoided it tonight. Need to get through the weekend.

HerRoyalFattyness · 01/06/2017 21:35

msqueen I feel slimmer too. Its a very strange feeling, albeit a nice one.

Msqueen33 · 01/06/2017 22:00

Oh it really is. I just wish I could speed it up. I'm keeping an ongoing list about food I'd like as a treat when I get to goal weight. But three odd stone seems so far away.

CBG17 · 02/06/2017 20:52

Struggling a bit the last couple of days with hunger and a rumbling tummy. Might bump myself up to 4 products (800 cal) per day for the weekend and then go back to 3 during the week. It seemed to create a bit of a buffer for me to not feel hungry which lasted a few days when I was only having 3 things.

So today I've had:
Cambridge coffee shake with shot of coffee, warmed up (Mistake!! Didn't taste good warmed)
Black coffee
Decaf coffee
ASDA raspberry and white choc bar
ASDA choc shake
Cambridge bonus bar
4L+ water/fluids
Total: ~700 cal

Snap8TheCat · 02/06/2017 20:57

I'm struggling too CBG17 Sad

CBG17 · 02/06/2017 21:05

How are you managing?

HerRoyalFattyness · 02/06/2017 23:00

This weekend isn't going to be the best as I've got a night out tomorrow with work colleagues (well a night in at my bosses house!)
And then my eldest is back off holiday in Sunday and I've promised him takeaway pizza.
But I think my stomach has definitely shrunk. I treated myself to a chocolate sundae as dessert tonight and could only eat 3 mouthful before feeling uncomfortably full.
