Anyone 5ft 3in with 3 stone-ish to lose?

Hi Everyone

As is clear from the thread I posted last night, I am feeling really low at the moment - feeling completely unmotivated and at my highest weight ever. I'm desperately trying to find some motivation having spent most of the weekend in tears and hating myself. I generally weigh myself on a Saturday so having had a terrible weekend I'm hoping that if I really try to eat healthily and exercise over the next 5 days I can make a difference. I am just under 5ft 3in and 12st 3lbs :( I would ultimately love to be 8st 7lbs but just to be in the nines would make me really happy. Is anyone is a similar boat out there?

xx

Well feeling really fed up this morning as weighed myself and back up to 13.5 Angry
Admittedly had two rather greedy days.
Tell me how your all getting on / what your eating as I'm obviously doing something wrong!
I'm also going to hide the scales as I'm becoming a bit obsessed with weighing myself, maybe I'll stick them in the boot of the car Smile

IamRonnieBiggs · 27/04/2017 07:09

So this morning I was 12 stone - desperate for that 11 to show

I can't lose more than one pound a week though - 4 weeks until holiday Confused

beela · 27/04/2017 07:33

1lb a week is good steady weight loss though. If you lose it slowly you are more likely to keep it off (I keep telling myself this because I am very impatient!).

NakedFamilyFightClub · 27/04/2017 09:11

I'm losing gradually too.

I'm having a Shredded wheat and milk for breakfast, then Greek yoghurt with berries and seeds.
Lunch is a sandwich or wrap with chicken and salad. Or a big salad.
Dinner is anything I'd normally have but with the quantities of veg upped and the rice, pasta or potatoes cut down.
Snacks are oatcakes and fruit with some sneaking of broken Easter egg chocolate...

I'm cycling twice a week when DS is at playgroup or when DH is off work, but I always did that (though I've noticed my speed increasing a bit) so I've added in some YouTube exercises with weights too.

IamRonnieBiggs · 27/04/2017 14:44

My big holiday aim was 20ib - I'm currently at 8 with 4 weeks to go

I didn't think I would make 20 but hoped I would get a lot closer than I am Confused

Snehavaria2567 · 27/04/2017 16:55

I am 5ft tall and gained 3 stones in my 2nd pregnancy. I had no time for the gym so I let the gym come to me. I found free online Zumba videos and did them whilst kids were asleep. Initially just 15 mins at a time but every day. Increase time as you find it. I cut down on sugar and white carbs and ate more protein, fruit and veg so I felt fuller for longer. I decided not to diet but change my eating for life. Losing weight slowly gave me time to adjust my eating habits and find food I enjoyed so I didn't feel deprived. I'm still eating like that today and kept the weight off but still allow myself to cheat and have cake!
Oh and I had lots of feeling fat days in between but accepted that a bad today doesn't mean a bad tomorrow. Good luck.

charimito · 27/04/2017 17:24

@snehavaria how long did it take you? And how many calories do you eat give or. Take?

kneesupfatty · 27/04/2017 17:53

IamRonnie But, at least you'll be lighter than you were! I, too, am impatient and find the slow progress quite demoralising. But, I keep telling myself that losing it slowly is more likely to mean that I keep it off... I was listening to an expert on the radio not so long ago and I'm sure he said that your body can only really cope with losing 10% of its body weight a year - anymore and it really tries to fight to put it back on again?!?
I have been struggling the past few weeks, mostly because we're in the middle of a big move and it's proving really stressful. But, I've pulled myself together and am back in the game!

Ellieboolou27 · 27/04/2017 18:53

When I first lost my weight almost 3st, it took 8 months, I was using mfp but went weeks without tracking as my appitite changed, I was so focused, I think I'd lost a good stone before I noticed any changes, wish I could focus more now!
Determined not to break this evening as this is my danger time.

champagnecyclist · 27/04/2017 19:28

Thanks charimoto

Back on here after another day of eating like a pig.. I need to start, and commit to this, so bleurgh from just stuffing constantly. Ate a whole box of truffles for lunch.

Does eating exactly the same thing every day, or at least on work days, work for people?

Also does having a fitbit or whatever help? Am I right in thinking they tell you what you've burnt for the whole day, so you can see whether your total calorie intake is above or below that?

charimito · 27/04/2017 19:36

Yes and yes @champagne! I know i wouldn't have lost the weight without my fitbit. Eating the same will set your expectations, the only thing is that it can get boring. I'm having exactly the same for breakfast and lunch Mon-Fri and I freestyle my dinner but keep it below 600 cals.

champagnecyclist · 27/04/2017 19:47

Thanks again :) it's there a difference between the fitbits or do they all do the same?

IamRonnieBiggs · 27/04/2017 19:48

Loving the name @kneesupfatty

If only one week it would be 2ib - ooh it would be sooooo good

I don't understand how I can eat crap, stay the same weight. Go on a massive diet/exercise regime and it changes so little.

I'm definitely smaller - holiday clothes nearly fitting now - still need more...

kneesupfatty · 27/04/2017 19:51

champagne I'm toying with the idea of just eating the same breakfast and lunch every day as I think that half my problem is the thinking about what I'm going to eat...In some ways I wish that I could just give up food.
I also think that I've got to be strong and just give up the chocolate/biscuits/cakes (sugar, basically) as I like the idea of just having a little bit, but find that, once I've got the taste, I can't control myself. I'm sure that giving up sugar would be horrific for a few weeks, but maybe it would give me more control in the long run?

charimito · 27/04/2017 19:54

@nope they're all different. If you're just starting and not planning to train in any hardcore way, the flex will do the trick.

kneesupfatty · 27/04/2017 19:55

Oh and I'm going to go for a run tomorrow morning. The arsing around has got to stop!

CatherineMaitland · 27/04/2017 21:12

Champagne - I have had nearly the same thing every day this week for breakfast and lunch (dal for breakfast, salad pot with protein for lunch) - not sure how the weight loss is doing as only being doing it for a week or 10 days but it feels sustainable. Doing different things for dinner though.

PinkCrystal · 28/04/2017 13:23

Can I join I am in same boat as OP. Have 2 to 3 stone to loose 5 ft 3. Have done slim world and weight watchers in past. Have just downloaded My fitness pal. I tend to gain and lose the same 2 to 3 stone. Have had 8 pregnancies (5DC/MC) and gained weight in them all.

CatherineMaitland · 29/04/2017 06:32

Down to 81.5kg since Monday - not dramatic but encouraging. I already feel just a bit slimmer - my trousers are all looser and best of all my bra fits better - less wobbling.

cakeisnotaproperbreakfast · 29/04/2017 10:59

Week 1 weigh in results: 5lbs lost. Now am 10st 2lbs. Hoping for 3lbs off next week to take me into the next stone down.
I'm following the 800 cal BSD; the food has been lovely but days 5,6 & 7 were hard. I was tired, stroppy and headachy. Day 8 today and I feel back to normal.

stitchglitched · 29/04/2017 12:31

Wow well done cake! 5lb is great. I've removed my scales from the house so going to weigh myself this afternoon at Boots. I've been low carbing all week, lots of eggs, fish and veg but not sticking to any calorie amount. Thinking about picking up the BSD book today, sounds like it really works!

champagnecyclist · 29/04/2017 13:14

Still haven't actually started. Ordered Louise Parker book but when it arrived realised it was the Cookbook not the Method. Have ordered the other one.

So in the meantime:

Breakfast was 2 tbsp oatbran, 100g frozen raspberries, 2 cups soya milk as breakfast porridge. Cup of tea with whole milk.

Lunch was 100g tuna, 4 slices large seeded bread (would have been 2 but ate leftovers oops), 10 cherry tomatoes, cup of tea. Bite of Swizzel lolly from toddler.

IamRonnieBiggs · 30/04/2017 08:42

Weigh in day - still 12 stone dead on....
3 weeks until holiday - I wish I could lose 6 - I think the way I am going it's looking more like 3

I am being incredibly well behaved, I am working out quite a bit - starting to think the new Weight Watchers just doesn't work!!

NakedFamilyFightClub · 30/04/2017 08:57

11st1 for me today so no losses this week, but my mum said she thought I'd lost weight when I saw her yesterday so at least there's some noticeable progress Smile

IamRonnieBiggs · 01/05/2017 07:14

Finally broke the 12 stone barrier! Still sad 2 years ago I was in the 10 stones Blush
