Anyone 5ft 3in with 3 stone-ish to lose?

Gemi33 · 16/04/2017 18:29

Hi Everyone

As is clear from the thread I posted last night, I am feeling really low at the moment - feeling completely unmotivated and at my highest weight ever. I'm desperately trying to find some motivation having spent most of the weekend in tears and hating myself. I generally weigh myself on a Saturday so having had a terrible weekend I'm hoping that if I really try to eat healthily and exercise over the next 5 days I can make a difference. I am just under 5ft 3in and 12st 3lbs :( I would ultimately love to be 8st 7lbs but just to be in the nines would make me really happy. Is anyone is a similar boat out there?

xx

I'll weigh in tomorrow and post. A little scared about it because I've just come back from holiday where we indulged ourselves on lots of booze and ice cream. I was at my heaviest before we went so I dread to think what the scales will tell me...

IamRonnieBiggs · 16/04/2017 21:04

Can I join too - I'm 5ft3 and as of today I am 12 stone 2ib - I was 12 stone 8 until recently

2 years ago I got down to 10 stone 7 - am very very pissed off at myself for not staying at that/loosing more

Gemi33 · 16/04/2017 21:12

It's so annoying when you've worked so hard to lose weight and then put it back on isn't it? I feel like such a failure :(

This thread is calling me - 5 foot 2 and 12 stone 3lb.

About 4 years ago I lost weight and was 10 stone 7lb and felt much better.

Ellasshitholekitchen · 16/04/2017 21:27

Hi there, feeling at one with you all here. I'm 5"2 and I think I'm well over 10 stone don't dare weigh myself. The weight has piled on since after my second and the depo injection caused my appetite to massively increase. One thing that has worked for me recently was buying and wearing some of those athletic/trendy cropped leggings, it's really made me want to jog/ exercise when I put them on! Hoping it helps. Good luck all

Ellieboolou27 · 16/04/2017 21:27

5ft 3 and 13.5 Blush
Lost all bar one stone of my baby weight within a month of her being born, now 19 months on I'm a stone heavier than when I was at 9 months pregnant! 12.7 at full term.

I look good at around 10st, as I'm big boned / boobs and slim legs, however never quite get below 11.3.

I'm 40 this year, I really want this to be the last time I lose my weight.

Tomorrow I'm starting vlcd of shakes as meal replacements for 2 meals then normal dinner of 600 cals. I know it's not great but I probably know more about nutrition and diets than most experts Grin and need a fast boost to get into the zone again, iyswim.

Doing this for 10 days, I'm obsessing over what to eat for my meals so this way takes a lot of that away and I can focus on a nice dinner, whilst retraining my eating habits to eat 3 meals a day this is what I'm telling myself in the hope it works

Ellieboolou27 · 16/04/2017 21:31

Gemi33 yup! I've lost and regained the same 3 stone at least 3 times in the last 6 years, Not having anymore kids now so can stop using that as my excuse Smile
I was actually 10.10 when I found out I was expecting my 2nd, the first thought that entered my head is "oh no I'm going to get fat again" Grin

cheerylilthing · 16/04/2017 21:31

Yes, not being immediately thin can be difficult. It's horrible when you actively try to avoid people because you're unhappy with your weight & only want to socialise when you're thinner but that takes time to do healthily.

How is everyone planning to put words into action? I have the Diet Doodle Diary & One Pound Meals recipe book. I should probably start doing my Davina Fit DVD workouts again & the Lucy Wyndham-Mead shorter exercise videos too.

IlsaLund · 16/04/2017 21:55

In the past Ive used MyFitnessPal and calorie counted but I can become a bit obsessive about it Blush

I can't decide whether to go MFP or just try and change my eating habits.

I eat too much so I need to think about portion control - I'm aiming to eat more veg with each meal.

I've also decided no snacking (just fruit and veg between meals). Unfortunately I've fallen into the habit of having cake/biscuits/crisps every day.

I hate the gym and don't like exercise videos so I'm trying to walk the dog for at least 30 minutes each day and do 10000 steps a day in total/

ChampagneCommunist · 16/04/2017 22:15

Hello, I am short (under 5ft) & fat (12 stones).

I love wine, bread & cheese. No sweet tooth but I can eat Pringles to Olympic standard

Bungleboggs · 17/04/2017 07:41

I'm 5'5, 12 stone 5 Shock (as of last Thursday) Doing 5:2. Fasting today and wed, weigh in on Thursday. Goal 10 and a half stone. I'm 40 this year and it's getting harder to shift

Honeyandfizz · 17/04/2017 07:45

Me!!! I'm 2 stone heavier than 3 years ago and am now 10st 10lbs at 5ft 2in. I struggle to not stuff my face with crap so need to cut back hugely. I turn 40 in 3 weeks so want to start feeling better.

CaptainBraandPants · 17/04/2017 07:56

I'm 5'2" and a very important quarter
On 1st January this year I weighed 13st 1.4lbs, today I weigh 11st 3.4lbs.
Done by low carbing. I've been on BIWI's bootcamp for the last ten weeks, which is brilliant and really supportive.
I want to get down to about 9st 7lbs, so just over half way there.

Ellieboolou27 · 17/04/2017 08:09

Today is the start of a new me!
Weighed in at a whopping 13.5 Blush starting the meal replacements today. Weigh in next Monday.
captain wow that's a great amount to lose and in such a short time too, you've inspired me.

CeilingThomas · 17/04/2017 08:15

Monday weigh in: 10st 12. This is the heaviest I've ever been not pregnant.
I've got to stop doing the same thing (eating crap and not exercising) and expecting things to change. I used to be able to cut of bread and pasta for a few weeks and drop half a stone. I'm approaching 40 and have a desk based job and this method just doesn't work anymore.

I need to face facts and stop being in denial about my lifestyle. Time to pull my finger out and start making real changes. Smile

beela · 17/04/2017 09:29

Thanks Gemi for starting this thread..... feeling motivated. Day 1 of 30 day shred done.

CaptainBraandPants · 17/04/2017 09:50

Thanks Ellie. You can do it, too. Flowers

Aridane · 17/04/2017 12:26

Monday weigh in: 5'2", 11 stone 2lbs, down from 13 stone, Just 3 more stone to go Blush

MyWhatICallNameChange · 17/04/2017 12:32

I'm 5ft 1 and 12st 10. I went back to WW on Thursday so have been pretty good all week. I've taken the kids it on lots of long walks this holiday, got another one planned tomorrow.

Evenings are my worst time for snacking, but I haven't given in this week. I will do it!

I'd like to get to 9 - 9.5 stone.

KRG13 · 17/04/2017 12:42

5ft 2 and 10st 6

I think I've lost about 10lb since end of Feb but really want to get to below 9 and a half

I'm in

KRG13 · 17/04/2017 12:45

Oh err, should say I'm starting tomorrow Blush

We're having our Easter Lunch today and you know, chocolate and stuff. And wine.

caoraich · 17/04/2017 12:56

Oh can I join too!! MusicToMyEars800 I think I am you. 5'2, enormous boobs and zero motivation! I struggle with stone/lb but I am 78kg aiming for 55kg, though I'd be happy with 60ish.

I have decided to stop joining gyms and never going, and spent a little more money and have employed a personal trainer. She turns up at my door twice a week so I HAVE to exercise and takes me out for 90mins. It's mainly HIIT and strength exercises (in the OUTDOORS, in Scotland, ye gods!) BUT last week she had me running for the first time since I nearly missed a train in 2013...

I have also signed up to a walking challenge with my work starting in May- it's a team thing with pedometers and prizes for the team what walks the furthest so hopefully the peer pressure will encourage me to get my 10k steps in as well.

I've tried 5:2 before and just got seriously hangry. I also do a 2hr commute 3-4 times a week and always end up snacking during it as otherwise I don't get home and dinner until 9pm.

So any healthy snacky advice would be much appreciated and I'm happy to report back on my mad outdoor PT.

Honeyandfizz · 17/04/2017 16:40

ceiling very similar to me, I'm 10st 10 and turn 40 in a few weeks. Haven't been this heavy for a few years.

Gemi33 · 17/04/2017 17:47

Hi everyone and well done to those of you who have started today. Unfortunately I haven't been well today so it's sort of been a write off. I've been toying with the idea of joining SW - I've never tried it before so just wondering if a new approach is needed - love to hear from anyone who has tried it or anything else you have found has worked.

xx

I'm trying to make sure I eat food that I love, but am making the bulk of my meal veg.

Tonight I made mushroom and blue cheese risotto but ate about a third less then I would usually but added extra broccoli to my meal.

I don't know if this method will work for me, but I'm working on the premise that cutting out the cake, biscuits and multiple packets of crisps I've been inhaling daily has to have some impact.
