Anyone 5ft 3in with 3 stone-ish to lose?

Hi Everyone

As is clear from the thread I posted last night, I am feeling really low at the moment - feeling completely unmotivated and at my highest weight ever. I'm desperately trying to find some motivation having spent most of the weekend in tears and hating myself. I generally weigh myself on a Saturday so having had a terrible weekend I'm hoping that if I really try to eat healthily and exercise over the next 5 days I can make a difference. I am just under 5ft 3in and 12st 3lbs :( I would ultimately love to be 8st 7lbs but just to be in the nines would make me really happy. Is anyone is a similar boat out there?

xx

Went over my calorie allowance by 300 last 2 days, still only takes me to 1500 per day, was out walking the dog and did a few sprints in the field when I thought nobody was looking, someone was looking Blush all 13.2st of me giggling about, dam these lighter evenings!

All set for the week ahead now though! I've rediscovered crab sticks so it's my new go to snack 5 for under 100 cals and quite filling too.

munchkinmaster · 24/04/2017 09:20

Weighed in. 10 stone 8. So 3lb off but actually more like 1lb as I think last Mondays weight was a bit oddly high so not a true baseline. I need to get down to 10 6 next week. Having another fast day as I'm really busy this week so need to get a couple out the way

KRG13 · 24/04/2017 09:24

Morning all

munchkin what does a fast day involve (and don't say not eating Grin) is it 500 cals or nothing at all for x amount hours, that sort of thing?

NakedFamilyFightClub · 24/04/2017 09:24

Weighed in too, 11st1lb so lost 1lb. Though it could be dehydration still because I did a massive cycle yesterday and only had one water bottle with me.

MyWhatICallNameChange · 24/04/2017 10:00

I eaten too much this weekend and not moved enough (though I have made sure I've done 10,000 steps everyday. A friend has invited me to a Fitbit challenge, which is a good thing as I get very competitive! Off out to get some steps in later, I will win! Grin

munchkinmaster · 24/04/2017 12:11

It's 500 cals. Been doing just a calendar day but that's about 36 hours (8pm-8am).

It's getting easier though

munchkinmaster · 24/04/2017 12:18

I'm doing it as I'm worried about wrecking my sluggish middle aged metabolism with yo yo dieting

beela · 24/04/2017 12:19

I moved up to shred level 2 this morning.... I don't remember it being so much harder than level 1!

CeilingThomas · 24/04/2017 13:07

Monday morning weigh in: 10st 7 so 3lbs off. I think. Think I was 10st 10 last week. Should have written it down! Will keep a diary from now on. I tend to find the first weeks loss is quite high do it'll be interesting To see if I can keep it up.

We've got this!!

5madthings · 24/04/2017 13:09

Joining.

Am 5 2 and this morning weighed 11stone 1lb on Friday I was just under 11. But weekend indulgence and night out.
. Three weeks ago though I was half a stone heavier so progress. I am not following a specific diet but am exercising, Joe wicks, Davina snd running and I start a weekly session with personal trainer this week.
I want to get back to 9 stone 7-10. I am big boobed was a 28gg/hh am now 32k as bfeeding baby number six. But he is 12mths now do need to get my butt in gear and sort this bsby weight, was easier after my others but emcs and difficult year has made it harder. Am cycling school run with bsby in trailer and he is 30lb so that must help exercise wise as it's about 7 miles a day.
. I am using mfp and have a diary to record food, exercise and mood etc it's been really good for recognising patterns in food cravings.. Tired.. Sugar, sad.. Sugar, cold... Sugar basically I had a really bad chocolate habit and a horrible cycle of sugar highs and lows. Writing down what I eat is making me really think about what I eat. My personal trainer has given my an amount of carbs, protein, fats etc to aim for so hoping in the eight weeks I have booked to see a difference.

charimito · 24/04/2017 18:08

Hello everyone! This might be a bit late but I was on the same boat! I've managed to lose the 3st give or take and I'm down to a size 6/8. I didn't follow any specific diet and did increase my activity level gradually to the point that I consider myself a runner :). Anyways, this took me 6 months (with December in between!) But I'm more than happy to help !!

NearlyChristmasNow · 24/04/2017 19:42

Weigh in this morning, 11st 7 which means 2lb lost.
I'm pleased with that, but OTOH I shouldn't have put it on over Easter in the first place!
Good luck this week everyone. Really interesting to read about everyone's different diets and experiences.

KRG13 · 24/04/2017 20:32

Thanks munchkin it's something I might think about doing, although at the moment I'm hovering around 800 (okay 900) calls a day anyway.

Well done to all the losers btw

KRG13 · 24/04/2017 20:34

Oh and my food today...

B: Almond butter protein shake- love, love, love this on work days
L: turkey bacon, spinach and hard boiled egg
D: Roast pork and veg leftovers from yesterday

Exciting stuff eh?

champagnecyclist · 24/04/2017 21:06

charimoto that's amazing! what did you do?

CatherineMaitland · 24/04/2017 21:55

Hope it's not too late to join in!

I'm 5ft 3in and weigh just under 13 stone (82.5kg, or 12.99 stone according to Google!) I'm not sure I have a fixed target as such but I am using MyFitnessPal and have set the goal to 1500 calories a day. Eventually I'd like to get back to somewhere between 9.5/10 stone. I've been using it for a week and seem to be figuring out that eating 600 to 800 calories during the day, then 700 or thereabouts for dinner, works quite well for me. Today was the first day I haven't felt hungry all day, and haven't wanted to snack on anything between meals. Perhaps I should eat daal for breakfast more often!

charimito · 24/04/2017 22:09

@champagnecyclist I started with walking. I have a fitbit and decided to at least burn 300 extra calories every day and ditched a bit the snacks and random ice cream. I think i did that for maybe 6 weeks. Then I increased the excercise to maybe 500 calories but no major changes to my diet. December came and I ate as much as I liked but kept doing my 7 minute workout and burned at least 2300 calories a day by then i think i had already lost a stone (6-8 weeks into it). I didnt gain any weight in December (first one for me) and I started to the last bit of my daily walk. I think around one month later (maybe half a stone, hard to know) decided to change my diet. So now Mon-Fri I eat the following:

B- rice Crispi's with almond milk
L- bagel with cheese cream
D- I eat whatever but try to keep it under 600 cals.

For snacking I have one apple, one banana, a few cherry tomatoes here and there, prunes and Greek yogurt. I also drink coffee throughout the day (filter with skimmed milk).

My work out routine is a bit more extreme these days, but Mon-Fri I do strength excercise (preloaded on my fitbit), like 10 mins of dancing, and running! The running does vary as I do speed training twice a week and a mix of short/mid/long range runs the rest of the days.

On a good day I burn around 3000cals on a slow day at least 2300.

I'm not hungry for most of time (apart from PMS week) .

I've more or less reached my goal now (technically I'm still overweight!) But being a size 6 is kind of scary so I'd rather not push it!

I toned and lost weight at the same time, no idea how hard that is or not, but I'm still getting used to my new body it's odd but in a very good way!!

Happy to give any advice!

PS I'm also hypothyroid so I do have the odds against me :)

NakedFamilyFightClub · 24/04/2017 22:16

I did a few exercise videos from YouTube today, watched by my bemused toddler and avoiding stepping on Brio which added a bit of excitement to the thing.

I did the bodyfit by Amy but the sound isn't great on them, I struggle to hear her. Anyone got any good ones they use?

charimito · 24/04/2017 22:24

Download the fitstar app :)

NakedFamilyFightClub · 25/04/2017 14:34

Thanks charimito , will check that out...

NearlyChristmasNow · 25/04/2017 22:58

Been bad today - too much lunch and tucking into DS's Easter egg leftovers.... Tomorrow will be different ...

thesockgap · 26/04/2017 11:23

Hi, you sound like me, at the start of the year.
I am about 5'2" and weighed in on 4th January at 12st 6lbs, the highest I'd ever been and almost equal to what I weighed at 40+ weeks pregnant with all 3 of my kids!

Since then I have lost 22lbs, although over the Easter holidays I put 2lbs on so I'm at a 20lbs loss currently.
I still have at least 2 stone to lose. I know I look OK at 9 stone, so that's what I'm aiming for - like you, ideally I'd like to be 1/2 a stone less but I'm just going to take it a bit at a time.

We go on holiday in mid August so that's the timeframe I'm aiming for.

NakedFamilyFightClub · 26/04/2017 15:47

I saw a really lovely dress for summer I'd love to buy today, but I'm holding off until I lose at least 9lbs. Target acquired!

I tried the fit star app, it would be good if you wanted to pay for it but I think I'll stick to YouTube videos, I did an all body workout with weights I really felt in my bum and tights the next day even though I stretched out Smile

kmills85 · 26/04/2017 16:51

Hi I am 5ft 1 and a half. I currently weigh 12st 10, got down from 12st 12 to 12 st 1 before xmas, since then I've put it all back on. I too am the heaviest I have ever been and I am so annoyed with myself as after having my now 3 year old I was 10st 2. My aim is to eventually be 9st. Currently following slimming world (so she says) and have just started a 5am boot camp this week. They posted pics from the boot camp and I can't believe that I actually look like that Sad I find it so hard to not eat crap I just have no willpower.

Beyondworried · 26/04/2017 17:32

Can I join.
5'1 and a huge 11.7 for me. The heaviest I've EVER been.
Am on AD's which have weight gain as a side effect if no check is kept on carbs. Still, I need to stop eating so much crap. Crisps are my downfall...oh, and cereal.
Have been comfort eating like made this last week due to a horrendous disclosure from my DD last week (another thread)
My weak points are when I get in from work and early evening. Terrible.
