Good luck to everyone here.
5' 4" and 12.5lb - heaviest I've been and haven't been properly slim for about 10 years. Hate what it does to my self-esteem. Big norks but fortunately still toned due to activity.
I just started reading Marisa Pier (hypnotist) You Can Be Slim, and it's already helping re-assess things in my mind. Around £4 on Amazon Kindle.
Only started reading, so can't say it works yet, but I'm planning on eating from the Blood sugar Diet today onwards. It was easy to stick to before and isn't faddy, in tjhe sense that you don't exclude any particular food group - just eat more lean protein, good fats and cut out refined/processed carbs and sugar.
A few things in the Marisa Pier book which are hitting home:
Asking why we are prepared to restrict our lives by being overweight (less socialising, activities, not wearing the clothes we want, avoiding beaches/swimming etc) BUT we're not prepared to slightly restrict our diet (cake once a week instead of daily, alcohol less often, healthy food in place of fast food etc). She gives mind exercises to reverse that.
Say to yourself 'I am enough' often and believe it. You need to read the chapter to understand that
Finding the motivation to become slimmer. If your mind and emotions keep bringing you back to an overweight state, mentally start associating pain with weight gain and pleasure with being slim. Pain with chocolate, biscuits, fast food.. as they make us overweight and unhappy... pleasure with healthy foods and exercise...
Not using the word 'lose' when we talk or think about weight, as our subconscious doesn't like to lose anything.
I also found doing a minimum of 10k steps a day helped before as I felt good for doing it and ate less. This time I'm going to reach my goal and stay there.
