Oh no, sorry to hear about the driving test caggie. That's a nuisance
but don't let it allow you to reach for food. Scales will def increase after a takeaway anyhow - the salt content will make retain water, hence the bloat.

I had vegetable soup for lunch - yes, in this weather! - and will be having chicken salad later. I'm on a roll, so going for it. Thank goodness for stopping the daily wine - otherwise in this weather I'd prob be on nearly a bottle of rosé a night. Yes, seriously. That's half my daily calories, just in drinks. Well, I would have had the full daily food calories too.

No proper exercise today, but have clocked over 13k steps. Amazed you were up and out so early this morning Not! - Well done. How are you doing today?

Not2bObvious · 19/06/2017 19:22

Having a surprisingly good Monday bath. Did my run, did lots of heavy housework (now that built up a sweat!) ate plenty but am still around 200 under my 1650 - I raised my daily allowance as I'm generally burning 2300-2500 a day so I need more. I tell you, I should do more housework, it's a decent calorie burner!
Ahh that sucks caggie, I failed mine first time and how I passed the second is a miracle - I was so convinced I'd failed when they gave me my pass very I was like "I passed? Me? I passed?"...say the tester had second thoughts at that point! Better luck next time, relax and have a nice evening. Don't be concerned about gain, totm bloat and/or general flux is to be expected. Weight loss is rarely linear

Morning campers. No run walk or crawl done yet but tales from the scales, down from 11.6.6 to 11.6.2! I'm thrilled as you might gather. Now I need to keep it going, 2.5 weeks to my holiday. Gone are the days of hoping for half a stone off but if I could get another 2 pound that would be great. I'm more concerned about not coming back 10 pound heavier.
I just reread what you were saying yesterday bath about the wine - isn't it such an eye opener when you accept the wine calories? Oh sure we all know it's cal'drastic but accepting that it's playing a part in keeping us heavy? Gamechanger. Now my next challenge, bestie coming over tomorrow, expecting to guzzle🍷Peer pressure at my age😉

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 20/06/2017 07:45

YEAH NOT!!!! Me too - down to 11 6.25. As for today ... girls need their fun too Wink

Not2bObvious · 20/06/2017 08:25

Woohoo weight twins again! I'm intrigued, what is this "fun" you speak of? I have a poorly child at home that I'll have to try get to the doctors. After my post I threw my runners on and did a swift 45 minute run just in case I couldn't get to the gym later. I'm protecting my 11.6.2 like a mother lion!

Argh, Not and Bath I need to catch up! Well done both! Scales have gone up to 11.8 today when I was heading in the right direction for 11.6 too. Will definitely do better next week. Don't think wine this weekend helped. I'm not normally a big drinker (and stick to gin and slim if I do) and never drink in the week but a rare night out with DH resulted in us getting through 3 courses each plus a couple of bottles of wine. Making up for lack of nights out in the the last year I think! Fridge full of salad and fish to enjoy while the sun shines and hopefully see a couple of pounds off by next week.

Bathsheba3 · 20/06/2017 09:41

The "fun" is a girlie night with bestie, or a dinner with DH. Both severely lacking in my circles - my social life seems to be depleting further and further. So what I meant was that sometimes you have to grab the opportunities guilt-free. I'm a bit jealous of your dinner In - too damn right you made the most if it though. So fish and salad as you say.

drspouse · 20/06/2017 09:58

Under again by over 200 yesterday, getting there with my catchup on Sat!

Not2bObvious · 20/06/2017 12:47

Aah I see bath, when you said today I thought it was your turn for "fun", it's tomorrow she's coming over. Oh I agree, the older I get the narrower my social life gets.
Don't worry too much in, they'd want to be some meals to rack up a true 2lb gain. You'd be talking taking in around 11,000 cals over 2 days. Besides your body could never turn it to poundage that quick. It's just bloat.

OP posts:
caggie09 · 20/06/2017 19:21

Ive had a good day today, food wise! :) The only exercise I'm getting at the mo is walking to and from work, and then walking around work for 8hours. MFP says ive burnt 262 cals from that. Not sure how accurate it is though. Got 626 cal left, going to have some strawberry popcorn later on and something else to bump up my calories for the day. Have a good night everyone!

Not2bObvious · 20/06/2017 21:10

You walked 8 hours at work caggie? Best not to eat exercise calories as they're vastly overrated but in your case I'd say it's underestimated. I have a Fitbit hr, I ran for 45 minutes, walked for 60, did a weights/hiit interval workout and general housework and mfp reckons I've burned 1000+
Now this was a stupidly active day, I rarely get a burn like that. Eaten just under 1700, should burn close to 2900 by the end of the day. V unusual as I said

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 20/06/2017 22:45

OMG - you sound like superwoman Not. And you must have sore feet or very comfy shoes caggie. I, on the other hand, have just had a glass of wine, which has pushed me up to 1690 calories for the day. [Fat bottom lip emoji]. For my nerves. DD stuff rearing-up again Sad. Long day, DH away, and generally feeling deflated. But the good thing was I did do another v sweaty PT session this morning. I could easily have another glass wine to drown out stuff whirring through my head, but will have shower & head to bed. Moan moan moan. Sorry. Mustn't loose my mojo so easily.

Not2bObvious · 21/06/2017 06:26

Sorry to hear you're having a hard time
bath, one glass won't ruin your progress
(or even 2 or 3!) Hope you did as you said and got to bed, and that today will be better. You did your session with the PT, you should be eating more on those days, 1700 or so isn't too high - 1300-1400 is too low. Superwoman haha, if only I could keep up the momentum. Down to 11.5.2 today, it's been a long time since I saw that number. Today will dramatically less active

OP posts:
Bathsheba3 · 21/06/2017 07:59

StarStarStar Not - that is brilliant !!!! Well done you. GO FOR IT.

The good news here is that DD did go to school. phew. And I've already done one whole basket of ironing. Bad news is that I'm up to 11 7, and feel it. But I know it's bloat and not gain, so will see what happens tomorrow.

Wave to caggie, in & dr - keep going with calorie counting too.

Not2bObvious · 21/06/2017 16:19

Thank you v much bath, I'm delighted. Did an hours run this morning plus a big walk around the park. Close to 20,000 steps done. Pls don't let the slight increase get to you (well aware I'm a total hypocrite) this heat is causing a lot of bloat. I feel super puffy this afternoon, so the best thing to do is drink loads of water. Glad your dd is behaving herself, I don't know if you said or even want to but I'm guessing she's a teenage stroppy. My little lady is still poorly, something or nothing. Hoping to get her back to school tomorrow

Evening all!
I work in retail so I'm on my feet all day, my feet ache all the time! I used to work in an office and I think that's when my weight piled on, I was sitting all day, not anything physical.
Well done not! Cant wait to see the day I'm below the 11 7 mark! You've done so well!
I done well all today until tea time, my plan was fish and poached eggs for tea. Then my household decided they wanted a Chinese. The smell of salt and pepper chips was very tempting, I caved. I ate them. Blush I'm off to the gym tomorrow morning for the first time in a while hoping it will make a teeny tiny difference before weigh in on Friday Shock, and make me feel less guilty for gobbling up the chips!

Bathsheba3 · 22/06/2017 10:23

I really hope you made it to the gym, caggie. Talking from experience, it's the getting there that's the problem. Once you are there, you'll get stuck in with any luck, burn a good few calories, feel stiff the next few days, and then go back for more!

I had you by my side this morning not - been for a good hour's run, & walk round the park dog in tow. Back down to 11 6 this morning. Exactly where I was last friday, so if I need to shift something overnight if I am going to record a loss this week.

Hope your DD is feeling a bit better not? They get run-down at the end of term.

Everyone else doing OK? Expiring in this heatwave? [sun]

Bathsheba3 · 22/06/2017 10:24

ha ha - I thought [sun] might magic up an emoji. I guess not, but worth a try Wink

caggie09 · 22/06/2017 16:15

I didnt go, oopps. Shame on me. It is getting here that's the problem for me. When I get there, I do get stuck in and stay for about and hour and half. I actually love getting all sweaty and then coming home for a cool shower, I feel so much better with myself after! A workout does make me feel 100% better. I think if not been for a while, its hard to get back into. I AM GOING TOMORROW Must repeat that in my head!
Hoping to be at 11,7 tomorrow!

Not2bObvious · 22/06/2017 21:52

Evening all. Wayyy too drinky yesterday and was a bit off this morning but I powered on, did the gym and a load of walking so back on track. Zonked now.
I agree caggie, the longer you stay away from the gym the harder it is to go back. I just go these days, if my childcare is sorted, my work is done then I go. I have no excuse not to. My friend was saying how good I am with my fitness (clearly I'm on a roll at the minute) but as I said to her I have a great setup and I'd be mad not to. Not everyone's circumstances are the same and if you're walking around 8 hours a day, I think you're at least getting your steps in. If you get to the gym a couple of times a week bonus.
My scales went up .8 this morning but that would be a cocktail of crisps & 🍷So hardly surprising! Be great to see 11.5'ish tomorrow

OP posts:
Not2bObvious · 23/06/2017 07:25

Morning all, happy Friday. Scales back down, now 11.5.6 - so down 1lb from last Friday, going to plan😉 With luck I'll see my low of 11.5.2 again soon. I am wrecked this morning, woke at 4am and must have fell back asleep around 6 for an hour. Feel awful. Anyway it'll shift I hope after a cuppa.
Forgot to answer you yesterday bath, dd is good now, back at school and in good form. Hope you see a good result this morning, spur you on for the weekend

OP posts:
caggie09 · 23/06/2017 09:41

Morning! Porridge in hand and ready to start the day. Weighed in at 11 7 this morning which is what I wanted to see! Will be hitting the gym soon too! Been using MFP for 28 days now, thought I would of got bored of weighing each crumb and logging every meal by now.
Next Friday is the last weigh in of this month, so I'm thinking of setting myself a personal challenge for the month of July.
Have a good day all! Halo

Bathsheba3 · 23/06/2017 09:58

Well done on the official 1lb Not but sorry you are feeling wrecked. I've had 3 cuppa's already and waiting for my energy boost too! Glad your DD better & back to school.

Go for it at the gym today caggie.

Rather disappointed as 1lb up to 11 7. But I know it is just bloat - it certainly couldn't be proper weight as I know my calories in and exercise out this week, and sods law it has been my best week in a long time! I tend to hold on to everything - literally - when I am stressed, and it's been one of those weeks. Again. But I'll do my very very best to not cave in this weekend, and await my big whoosh next week!

Not2bObvious · 23/06/2017 13:33

Much better now thanks bath, got a quick run to the shops and a brisk walk back. Close to 10,000 done. Having company for lunch, love it! Pity the scales isn't behaving but just keep at it, patience and perseverance will get you there. As you said you know you were on the ball.

drspouse · 23/06/2017 14:44

Oh boo, no loss this week but I ate v late yesterday which never helps.
Off on Guide camp this weekend which will mean lots of walking and lots of junk food.
