Maybe I was squeezing in things that were too small before, and now they actually fit? Should have taken 'before' pictures!!

FreeNiki · 16/02/2017 17:35

It's frustrating though. I expected at losing all that weight we could at least go down a size. Sad

ArseyTussle · 16/02/2017 18:40

I haven't gone down a dress size in anything, and I'm on the brink of losing a stone. Pah.

To be honest I'm not convinced my clothes are even looser. Where has the weight gone from, my hair?

BeyondUnderthinking · 16/02/2017 18:45

Ah bugger arsey. Oh well, at least I'm not alone!!

I'm watching "superslimmers - did they really keep the weight off" (it's on 4od) atm. I wonder how long they dieted before noticing a difference in clothes...?

I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that smaller sizes are closer together in their differences than the bigger ones. I wonder how true that is?

BeyondUnderthinking · 16/02/2017 18:47

It's quite a depressing programme. Doctor person: "people always think they will be in the 5-10% of people who keep the weight off"... Oi! I'll have you know I will be one of them!! Grin

KikisDeliveryService · 16/02/2017 18:52

At 13.5 stone I was in sizes 14-16, at 9 stone 10 I wear size 8-10. Currently 10 stone 10 and in 10-12.

Fasting today. It's made me a bit grumpy this evening especially as I've now consumed my calorie allowance.

KikisDeliveryService · 16/02/2017 18:57

And yes, you will retain water when healing those muscle tears, you hard working gym user niki!

Chardonnay73 · 16/02/2017 19:01

I have to loose A Lot to move dress sizes 😒 Even at my thinnest in my adult life ( for my wedding) I was 10 Stone and still a size 14 in clothes 😩 Guess I'm just big boned ?!!
My 18,s are now too big after 15lb loss, but it'll be another stone before I'm back in 16's 😩
I guess I'm just, err very 'solid' !

QuimReaper · 16/02/2017 19:14

Good memory Hairspray I did! You probably already know Niki since you mentioned micro tears earlier, but yes, when you really stress out your muscles they get inflamed and retain a load of water while they heal, and since you've been work out like a beast and especially lifting, that's probably what's going on. When was your last rest day?

I think for some reason it's true that the larger the starting size, the more you have to lose in order to go down a size. I feel like it makes logical sense but my brain can't wrap itself around why... Confused

teaping · 16/02/2017 19:23

I'm coming back to the thread with my tail between my legs... tomorrow's weigh in will mark my third week of staying the same, of a miracle happens and the 8-mini-hero-scoffing-session from last night hasn't done me any damage.

Back on it and focused today! I've learnt that I mustn't just not read the board if I've had a bad day because I'm too embarrassed...that leads to more bad days!

FreeNiki · 16/02/2017 19:27

Ok hopefully that's a reason. My legs are finally beginning to stop hurting. Can have another go tomorrow.

The dress size thing might be right a 10-12 sometimes only have an inch or so of fabric difference or sometimes even less. With bigger sizes they do look much bigger than the next size as they go up.

I dont think Ill ever fit a 8-10 again.

ArseyTussle · 16/02/2017 19:50

Sorry teaping, do we know you? Grin Come back into the fold!

I too am solid, Chardy. In the old days I think I would have been called stout. I look like John Travolta in Hairspray. I can't imagine I'll ever get below 10 stone, and that's not being defeatist, the circumference of my wrists and knees put me very clearly outside the 'delicate' zone. Grin

teaping · 16/02/2017 20:10

Thanks arsey!! I feel better already, why did I defect away from the amazing support on here?!?!

Must.do.better. 7 weeks til my wedding dress fitting. Arrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!!!

Archduke · 16/02/2017 20:19

Hello again Teaping welcome back.

Arsey love the word stout. Conjures up images of redoutable women in Agatha Christie or Molesworth books. I thoroughly approve of that type of no-nonsense do-er. Like my ancient great aunts.

Niki rest and heal, I'm listening to an ACE book whilst out running Running Like A Girl, it talks a bit about the physiology of exercise and def recommends rest days. It's a good book to listen to if you like audiobooks whilst exercising, quite inspiring.

Beyond bodies are weird, I would agree, with a 17lb loss you would expect a dress size change. Stoopid bodies. I think though that's the idea of measuring, that sometimes the fat lost is from weird places, boobs, upper arms, face, eyelids, ears, knees etc rather than stomach/arse/thighs sadly. It WILL happen, just need to koko, but FAR OUT it's annoying.

Mind you dress sizes are all total bullshit as far as I can make out. Living in the wilds of Australia I do like a nice online shop but I've pretty much given up now as sizes vary so much, I've just had a clear out of loads of badly fitting purchases. I need my own couturier. Someone talented to disguise my fat belly and emphasise my slim, er, wrists.

lastqueenofscotland · 16/02/2017 20:57

Totally golden day today.

Will try and be golden tomorrow but I am going out for dinner with a friend so will just try and be sensible

BitOutOfPractice · 16/02/2017 21:02

Hello and welcome back teap. Now don't go wandering off again eh?

I think those of us of larger bosom are highly unlikely to ever get in a 10 again. The norks just won't allow it

Well I'm 2lbs down on the gym scales so I'm only one pound up from this time last week. Ffs how frustrating is that? Hmm

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 16/02/2017 21:39

Archie I've only lost about 15 Lindas, and reversed back out of the dress size I was inching into, but still have clothes from 5yrs ago that won't do up even though I can't be more than 5 Lindas heavier than I was then - oh but hey, on the bright side my arsing ring size has gone down so that I've lost my favourite ring and had to consign two others to the jewellery box Hmm

It's so weird and annoying, isn't it?

Welcome back tea old chum, and don't be a silly bugger again - next time the wagon leaves you in the dust come on here for a moan and we'll poke you until you find it again! You've probably caught up enough to see we all lost sight of the wagon at the same time as you did, you could've joined in the Group Moan if you'd dared to face us Grin

I'm not sure what to expect from tomorrow's weigh-in. I had a weird day on Mon, a fairly calorific day on Tues, a starvation day on Weds and a good-to-middling day today, but I've done no exercise all week except for a long walk this evening. Unless tossing and turning for four nights running sweating out a fever and sneezing my face off counts?

Meh. I guess I'll be happy with another maintenance. I can hardly even remember what that Linda-loss air-punch euphoria feels like Confused

Aaaah BOOP that is annoying, but I bet it'll be gone by tomorrow and you'll have "maintained" after your indulgent weekend, which is something isn'it?

KikisDeliveryService · 16/02/2017 21:56

Oh Quim I know how you feel. Even when I do finally shift down a Linda bracket I don't even feel celebratory because it is so very fleeting. The lesser-spotted-lost-Linda.

I had a low of 10.9.4 last week, then spent Mon-Weds at 10.10.4, then up to 10.11.4 this morning. I've had my second fast of the week today so I may see that 10.10 again but I want 10.9

ponygirlcurtis · 16/02/2017 22:44

I lost well over a stone - not a single comment from anyone. Then after a few months of maintenance I lost a further 3lb - and suddenly everyone was asking me how much I'd lost and I was v confused, kept saying 'just a few pounds, honestly'.

Why not think of it as a break or a holiday, keepon. That way you can just accept it is going to happen and clamber back onto the wagon next week. Don't beat yourself up or you will feel too rubbish to keep on keeping on!

Squiffy01 · 17/02/2017 07:10

So I've now changed my weigh in to Friday's so weighed three days early today and lost 1.9lbs which doesn't count cause I'm only down 100g after the gain of last week.

Welcome back tea even when you weren't reading you were synced with a lot of us falling off the wagon.

I'm not even going to come close to 7lbs for Feb but hoping I can lose a couple more by the end of the month.
Out to a fancy dinner and Aladdin at the theatre tonight Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 17/02/2017 07:28

Oh no KOKO don't give up. Why not try a new diet? Shake things up a bit? For instance I've always done WW in the past but I've swapped over to using mfp and it's changed the way I think. How about trying 5:2 or the BSD. Something you've not tried before. You can do this. We have faith in you

Squiffy that sounds like a top night out
