boop we are heading bacj to near the Black Country and pork pie excitement is building . Less so for me, I am looking forward to decent quality pâté much more. And PYO fruit

hadtomakeanawfuldecision · 13/02/2017 02:15

beyond / beyonce how do you make your semolina pudding? Sounds quite satisfying. Cannot have chocolate spread in the house tho' -no will power

Squiffy01 · 13/02/2017 06:16

1.7lb gain for me this week. Was expecting it Sad

minnymoobear · 13/02/2017 06:42

Im a fat fart who looks pregnant 😩😩
Eat too much shitty food like 🍕🥙🌮🌭🌯🍗🍔 and in way too. If portion sizes.
Don't so enough exercise - office desk job so sit on my ass most days.
Joined gym and not been in 2 months

Warsaw a friend over the weekend whose lost weight and looks really good. She's going for it with less food, saying no to some junk and exercising daily. Simple
Right?

So I'm motivated!

2 boiled eggs for brekkie
Tuna salad for lunch at work
Dinner is coud cous and chicken and veg

Lots more water and a yoga class at 8pm

LEss bothered about pounds lost than how I look and feel so first target is to get bmi from obese to overweight - bmi is 32 and should be 29 to be overweight

minnymoobear · 13/02/2017 06:45

Bmi is actually 33.5 and body fat is 42%!! 😱😱😱
That was a month ago so will see what it is later when I'm on the scales

lastqueenofscotland · 13/02/2017 07:27

I've stayed the same all week. Which is alright considering my totally not golden day on Wednesday and a weekend at my mothers.

I WILL loose 2lbs this week.

BeyondUnderthinking · 13/02/2017 08:17

I'm up a pesky half a Linda again. But I didn't poo yesterday, so I'm blaming that :)

I think I may figure out how to measure body fat on my scales so I can be horrified by that in the morning...!!

Hadtomake, I will attach my super healthy recipe for semolina pudding...

12 dead oopsy

but after drinking everything in the world on saturday night and then eating everything beige in my house to compensate yesterday I am not surprised! Let us hope it is water retention and a few golden days will get me back on track. Let us hope I did not put on 5lbs of fat in one weekend!

TBH I just want to go back to bed.

BeyondUnderthinking · 13/02/2017 08:54

Putting on 5 lbs on fat in two days would be an achievement of its own kind Grin

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/02/2017 08:58

Half a linda up too. Grr! You would think that after having had horrendous diarrhoea for 24 hours I might have lost some weight, but nooo.

HairsprayBabe · 13/02/2017 09:07

Ha! I know right Beyond

I didn't eat that much over the weekend,
Avocado and eggs for brunch Saturday,
Olives, Hummus, dips etc. for dinner Saturday,
3 cosmopolitans, 2 watermelon daiquiris, 3 glasses of prosecco saturday eve
Sunday - lots of bread and butter, peanuts, cheese, toast, just generally nibbling all day. No actual meals.

Failure, I really need to stop ruining it at the weekends, can someone give me a virtual slap!

ponygirlcurtis · 13/02/2017 09:49

Beyond Grin

I have managed to more or less keep a lid on the eating over this half term weekend, but extra wine and gin has been consumed. BOOP that food looks amazing! Sometimes you have to step off the wagon consciously, that kind of weekend is good for the soul. Smile

I am still weighing in under the 11st market. I will be gutted to go back over so I need to press on. Technically I am 2lbs away from my target.

Soups sound good Squiffy, I made the chicken and sweetcorn one yesterday and even with adding loads of extra chicken it's still only 200cals per portion and varies filling. Do share if you find any other good recipes.

KikisDeliveryService · 13/02/2017 09:53

I think that between the fasting days I've had too many 'just fill up on carbs' moments. The incessant grey weather has made it very difficult but I need to get back to shovelling in veg not carbs.

Does anyone else's eating get affected by the gloom? I just want to crave rainbow coloured salads and fruit again, not the brown and beige bread soup and stews that proliferate in this end part of winter.

Fasting today and I definitely need the reset! I started the weekend with pancakes bacon and maple syrup ffs. It was delish but I can't really tolerate that sort of food as a breakfast so just felt squiffy all day after that. (apologies to squiffy for all the feeling up Grin)

Grin to beyond for the homemade semolina.

Your weekends looked delightful boop & *hairspray- how are you both feeling after it all?!

HairsprayBabe · 13/02/2017 09:56

I am effing knackered.

Got it at 4AM on Saturday, made friends with a very lovely Dreamboy called Kallum. DP got in at 6AM! and he too made friends with a dancer, her name was Jewel she was from Poland Grin

Slept till mid-day yesterday and I am barely functioning at work right now... hence the surreptitious Mumsnetting on my phone Grin

Archduke · 13/02/2017 09:58

Hello minimoobear welcome to Fat Fighters Grin

It's great this thread, v supportive. Though hairspray consider yourself slapped. The odd slip or conscious weekend off is fine, extended nibbling will be frowned upon. Little pickers wear bigger knickers remember. Sorry, that phrase is awful.

I had an ok weekend after the frosé. Today I have walked 8km and run/walked another 5km - mostly walked, my running has gone to shit recently.

Am back in the lower kg bracket (just) after a brief return to the higher one. Weather here has turned cold after our heatwave, am currently shivering in a drafty school hall watching the dds gymnastics. Brr and yawn. Am missing MKR for this. Hrumph.

Archduke · 13/02/2017 10:04

Kiki dieting in winter is haaarrd you are all legends to do it at all. I find a good fiery curry or luscious stew on a bed of green veg is a good for low cal. All the yumminess without the rice or potatoes. Doesn't really fill you up for long though.

KikisDeliveryService · 13/02/2017 10:41

My go-to fast day soup recipe:

Chop/cube the following for a soup base - quantities are approximate but fit my medium sized Le Creuset:
1-2 leeks
1-2 stalks celery
1.5cm chunk of ginger root peeled and chopped up finely
1 fennel
1/3rd butternut squash
1-2 carrots

I add the leeks first to a pan on medium heat with a scant amount of olive oil then add the rest as I chop, stirring occasionally. Then add enough water to cover with a generous teaspoon of marigold bouillon. Bring to boil then simmer until squash and carrots are soft (say 20 mins). This is my base for a good 4-6 portions. I quite often freeze some of this.

Things I might add to portions and heat up again depending what I've got in or how many calories I'm eating that day:
baby leaf spinach
green beans (chopped)
frozen soy beans
halved cherry tomatoes
coriander leaves (sometimes I put chopped stalks in soup base)
prawns
grated ginger
poach an egg in the soup

I usually serve it with a spoon of miso paste and a bit of spicy seasoning. I think the base works out less than 100 calories per bowl plus whatever was added. But I'm working from memory there so could be wrong. It's more of a stew than soup by the time I'm finished with it and a very satisfying meal on a low calorie day.

KikisDeliveryService · 13/02/2017 10:43

Agreed Arch that what I normally do but seem to have got out of the habit over the last couple of weeks. Writing out my soup recipe has reminded me of the deliciousness of eating without the carbs.

KikisDeliveryService · 13/02/2017 11:31

Scales slightly down on last Monday. That's 2 in a row. Good sign for a loss again by the end of the week :)

Softpebbles · 13/02/2017 12:22

Living the semolina recipe Beyond Grin

So glad to see that I'm not the only one who has had a weekend of bad eating. Honestly it started badly on Friday night with bread and macaroons. Was glad to get back to work today for my detox smoothie and soup for lunch.

The weather has impacted greatly on my mood and eating. Confused

Not looking forward to weds weigh in.

Onwards and upwards (downwards 😬)

lastqueenofscotland · 13/02/2017 13:13

Golden day is going good so far
Been for a run
Having veggie curry with no rice for lunch and then should have about 700 cals left for dinner

QuimReaper · 13/02/2017 13:16

I've got a cold Sad

Slept appallingly as I woke up with a raging throat. Feel rotten now and not remotely inclined to go out walking and swimming and eat tiny portions of boring food!

The better news is I might be back in my own house from next week with a FUNCTIONING KITCHEN! Oh the luxury! Grin

HairsprayBabe · 13/02/2017 13:20

Not going too badly... had a teeny tiny slice of vegan cake one of the ladies at my work brought in as she just announced her pregnancy. Was very small slice and delicious so totally worth it in my book!

Just had my yoghurt for lunch and will be having soup for dinner. I am going to be very low cal, low carb and low dairy for the rest of the week to try and undo the damage I did this weekend.

I have another social weekend planned away with old school mates but it is all self catered so I think I will just avoid carbs like the devil and ignore calories, and go easy on the vino.

QuimReaper · 13/02/2017 13:23

BOOP is one of those people in the picture you...?

Welcome minny!

HairsprayBabe · 13/02/2017 13:46

Feel better soon Quim Flowers[ tea]
My DM just had her kitchen redone before Christmas and she was thoroughly sick of eating out of the microwave for 2 months!
