lastqueen Just enjoy yourself when you're out!

Keep "on track" at home :)

HairsprayBabe · 24/01/2017 13:48

Queen I check the menu before I go to try and find something I can have, then I choose that. If there is nothing I can have I will often cobble something together from sides.

But usually a good option for most people is grilled meat and veggies or salad. Little trickier when you don't eat meat, like my good self, and the only options are pasta or salad! But I might order a burger take it out of the bun and have a side salad or coleslaw.

Other tips:
I always order olives as a starter, low in carbs and cals and fill me up so I'm not tempted to pick at other people's chips or the bread in the middle of the table.
Order sparkling water or ice water and try to drink a full glass before food arrives to fill me up.
Try to leave stuff on my plate as restaurants often over portion.
Don't look at the dessert menu at all.
Ask for dressing on the side.
Lots of chain restaurants have cals available online so you can look them up there.
Try to enjoy the company more than the food, so if you do order a sensible salad you don't feel disappointed!

HairsprayBabe · 24/01/2017 14:00

Caveat we go out to eat a lot, if i was only good at home my diets would fail dismally!

BitOutOfPractice · 24/01/2017 15:29

Oh bugger. I've had some bad news and fallen off the wagon Blush

ArseyTussle · 24/01/2017 15:36

Oh no! Are you alright BOOP?

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 24/01/2017 16:15

Oh dear, BOOP, hope you're ok.

The whoosh fairy has visited! Down a lb and a half overnight, hurray! That makes a grand total of 6lbs off so far. That's more like it! Hope I haven't sabotaged this by not Shredding this morning. Have parked the car really far away from work and have a half-hour walk to retrieve it, though - which made me late this morning and I will have to leave early too to get to nursery on time, so I can't do this regularly. AF has arrived so I was extra surprised by the whoosh. Now I just need to consolidate this and not blow it.

lastqueenofscotland · 24/01/2017 16:48

Hairspray j am a veggie too.

I think the others going want to do tapas style stuff so hopefully beings veggie means I can pick my own stuff and stay out of that.

Also have a birthday meal at an Indian to go to on Friday. Resolve will be tested Angry

TVHubbyClaire · 24/01/2017 17:22

BOOP - I do hope you are ok

There has been cake in our kitchen at work for the last two days and I am so proud of myself that I have not given into temptation. The little NSV on Sunday definitely helped me ignore the cake

Although I was out for Thai food on Sunday i have been on porridge, soup and fruit for last two days at work and a chicken/couscous meal last night. Played badminton at lunchtime today so hopefully every little helps.

Will weigh myself tonight (before dinner). I started at 13st 4 and have a target of 12 st 7 so hopefully some progress to add to the single Linda of last week.

QuimReaper · 24/01/2017 17:34

BOOP? You OK? What's happened?!

Well done TooExtra, more like it indeed! I don't think you can sabotage by not shredding, just sabotage by shredding and then replenishing with a tube of Pringles!

(I actually had a dream about Pringles last night Blush )

lastqueenofscotland · 24/01/2017 18:05

Quim I spend my days dreaming of hula hoops.

I have a big work exam on the 1st I'm going to treat myself to some if I pass

ponygirlcurtis · 24/01/2017 18:39

Hope you are OK BOOP.

My fitbit weekly email tells me that the result of reducing my daily step goal to something more achievable has meant around 20k more steps than usual this last week, and an extra 1k calories burned! Who'd have thunk it that aiming lower would have done that?

SmellyFartado · 24/01/2017 19:28

Aw thanks you lovely lot!

I have a couple of stone to lose so need to add in exercise at some point. Just don't know when I could fit in the gym though as we are quite isolated here. Perhaps will find an app instead.

Boop, hope all ok. Don't beat yourself up about falling off wagon. It happens.

KikisDeliveryService · 24/01/2017 20:07

Boop So sorry you've had bad news. Hope you're ok.

Archduke · 24/01/2017 23:58

Morning all, sorry to hear that you've had bad news BOOP I hope you and your loved ones are alright. Sending kindest thoughts and a Brew for you.

Well done on the NSV TV and well done on avoiding the cake. We have a boxed up Xmas cake in the pantry (use by date 2019) which none of us like. I must get rid of it some how.

Well done to you too Cheddar. Quim and Last Queen so funny that you are dreaming of Pringles and Hula Hoops.

I am resolutely bouncing around the same weight. Where am I going wrong yesterday I had sugar free museli, with yoghurt (plain) and fruit. Lunch was a few nuts and probably some fruit (can't remember but not much). Dinner was a rye sourdough bread roll with 2 small slices of cold roast pork and some salad with a small amount of mayo. A few cups of tea. AND THAT'S IT.

I weighed myself this morning and I'm 100gms up FFS. Honestly I'm not forgetting a sly greasy takeaway or anything. I probably eat too much fruit. I usually have a bit of lunch and a salad for dinner. But it doesn't vary that much.

I really can't eat eggs in the morning , my museli keeps me going for most of the day. I probably have a bowl full 1/2 cup of museli a spoon of yog and a banana/kiwi/cherries/plums etc etc to fill a cereal bowl so quite a lot.

Archduke · 25/01/2017 00:00

I meant to add, as if you need any more waffle, I have about 1 stone left to lose. I'm 5' 2" and exercise regularly either walking the dogs or running.

However I am OLD (mid late 40's), so that's probably slowing me down. When I was a young slip of a thing I could just skip a few meals smoke some more fags and lose the weight easy peasy.

Squiffy01 · 25/01/2017 07:14

Hope everything is ok boop

Everyone is doing so well! I'm attempting to be extra good in a last ditch effort to stay the same this week (that's all I can hope for with all the shit i ate on the weekend)

ArseyTussle · 25/01/2017 07:23

300g down since yesterday. It's blowing a gale here and I'm supposed to be doing a run. I think I'm going to have to substitute running with swimming for a while until I weigh less, I'm 14 and a half stone so the pavement pounding is taking its toll!

BOOP, hopefully whatever your crisis is you're managing OK, and will soon have your hand back on the rudder of the good ship Slenderista.

Arch, that sounds shit, you're eating barely anything! Perhaps a whoosh is coming?

Arch, I reckon your body is storing up a whoosh. It must be! You could try lifting weights, but it does sound like you're doing all the right things. I'm 5'2" too and it is fecking hard to get the weight moving!

Too scared to weigh in case yesterday's whoosh has gone again! Trampoline tonight - hurray!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/01/2017 07:41

What's your goal weight, Arch? Mine is 8 stone 7 but I'd be happy anywhere under 9.11, really! Currently 11 stone 1.5.

lastqueenofscotland · 25/01/2017 07:46

Boop sorry I missed your post. Hope all is ok.
Keep I'm back to where I was a week ago after a daft weekend blowoutBlush

teaping · 25/01/2017 07:53

Morning ladies.

boop I hope you are ok. FlowersBrew

arch you must be super frustrated but I reckon you have a whoosh coming. It doesn't sound like you're eating masses.

I am feeling triumphant today cause the scales showed I'm down 1lb this morning. Admittedly I think I was a bit dehydrated but still, it's lower than it has been any other day!

16lbs down since October, and 11 down since Jan 3rd! Yay!!

I love this group, i am convinced I'd have slipped up by now without it - you are all FAB!!! Star

00100001 · 25/01/2017 09:17

I now have no clue how much weight I will have lost in Jan - we went to slimming world and the scales said complete different figures! waaah
