Amazing teaping, well done! Star

Arch, I am the same as you - in my 40s and 5ft 2in. I lost nothing, zero, zilch in October and November despite me doing the same things. It's dispiriting. Don't know what the answer is but am here in solidarity. I have lost what I put on over Christmas and a few pounds extra. I fully expect it to grind to a halt in February. Angry

QuimReaper · 25/01/2017 09:47

Archie commiserations on the stall - remember BOOP's whoosh after hers and grit your teeth, it'll happen! You're in the "last stubborn stone" I guess. On other threads I've seen people swear by a personal trainer to shake off the last few pounds, something to look into maybe?

koko can you tell me more about callinestics? I've never found an exercise DVD I actually like, and I struggle with the knee thing too.

teaping YOU ARE A STAR! Star

00100001 · 25/01/2017 10:11

Wow, well done teapig

lastqueenofscotland · 25/01/2017 10:25

Teaping that's incredible!!

I have given into my two week craving for hula hoops and they weren't even as nice as I remembered.

Salad for lunch then a veggie based meal while out tonight.

BitOutOfPractice · 25/01/2017 10:31

Teap that's an amazing loss. Very well done indeedy. And you're right. This thread is just great!

To those of you stuck, your whoosh shall come.

Thanks for all your good wishes. It's a medical thing that was a bit of a shock. But I should know more very soon.

Thanks all for your kind words. I will await a whoosh.

BOOP fingers crossed all works out favourably for you.

Cheddar I'm aiming to be about 8st 11lbs am currently a stone heavier than that. But tbh would be stoked to reach 9st and stick to it. As think I may look scrawny at 8st something.

Going to bed now as will be up at 5am to walk 16km along the beach front with dd1 and a gang of mum chums. We are planning to talk all the way to make the kms whiz past. Must think up some juicy gossip, if anyone has anything I can dazzle them with do add it to this thread Grin

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 25/01/2017 11:05

Boop that sounds ominous, hope everything turns out to be ok Flowers

Teaping that is amazing, well done!

I am having a fast day today, but yesterday I was weirdly hungry and couldn't stop eating, so I expect that will have done some damage. Today I am weirdly not-hungry, so fingers crossed it will be fairly golden!

ArseyTussle · 25/01/2017 11:13

Blimey, you're all aiming for very low weights, I couldn't face that! Blush I'm aiming for 10 stone, which is towards the upper end of healthy BMI for my height 5'4". I couldn't contemplate 8 stone anything!

ponygirlcurtis · 25/01/2017 11:21

Not me, Arsey Grin
I am aiming for 10st 10lbs. At 5ft 2in that will be a full stone above the upper limit of my recommended BMI. I may make it down further than that, but not much. I know my own body, I am very curvy with GG boobs that don't reduce with weight loss, and there is no way I could achieve and maintain 9st 10lbs much less below it. At 10st 10lbs I will be happy and feel healthy. I am about half a stone away from it Smile. I am already happy tbh but would like to shed those last Lindas.

teaping · 25/01/2017 11:23

Thanks all for your lovely comments!

boop hope you get good news. Fingers crossed for you that all is ok.

Arsey I'm aiming for 10st 5 initially, and I'm also 5ft 4. The lowest i have been in recent years is 9st 9 but it was a real struggle to get there (and I still felt like I needed to lose a lot more) and I just couldn't maintain it. If and when I get to 10.5 I will decide whether to try and shake off a bit more.

QuimReaper · 25/01/2017 11:33

Arsey and pony it does completely depend on body type, I think. I'd love to be able to carry more than an extra 7lbs or so before it starts to look awful, but it's my body shape: being an apple, especially one with a very small frame sucks sucks sucks because all the weight just sits on your waist. At my heaviest weight my silhouette actually went out at the waist and then in again at the hips Confused

I also have very flabby upper arms which is spectacularly unfair as apples are supposed to have slim limbs.

Oh, but at least my fingers have shrunk so my rings no longer fit, that's great body, thanks Hmm

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/01/2017 11:39

To be fair, with my dreams of 8 stone 7, the lowest I've been since the age of 21 is 9 stone 6 (for about 5 minutes). I would actually be pretty happy with 9 stone 6 if I could maintain it. It's only half a stone off overweight, though.

BeyondCanSeeTheEmperorsBellend · 25/01/2017 12:20

Still banging my head against the wall here. Where has my pre xmas willpower gone? :(

ArseyTussle · 25/01/2017 13:07

I used to be hourglass-ish, until I had DD, although I was always overweight. Due to my abs wandering off to find a more careful owner I now look like a barrel with cartoon hams for arms and legs. The good thing about this is that when I do lose weight it goes off all over.

I'd love to get rid of the hideous overhang, there is 9cm difference between my waist measurement and my circumference at the flab paunch.

Sorry to hear there is willpower struggle going on. It's really helped me to do 16:8, the idea that I simply CANNOT EAT until noon is much easier for me to accept than fighting the sugar cravings all morning triggered by eating breakfast.

lastqueenofscotland · 25/01/2017 13:16

I need to look into 16:8

I caved and had some cake.

It was delicious and I did really enjoy it.

Not having a good day though! I will have to be super duper golden tomorrow anyway as in meetings all day so no chance to snack.

BeyondCanSeeTheEmperorsBellend · 25/01/2017 13:24

Koko, it's so frustrating isn't it. I don't think it helps that I've been feeling especially 'meh' 😕

Softpebbles · 25/01/2017 13:30

Hi ladies. Have lurked for a while and will join when the Feb thread starts. Just wanted to ask what scales you use at home? I started last week - have cut out my snacking and had a detox smoothie every morning. Feeling good but my scales gave me three different readings today. Grrrr

I have lurked on December and January but wasn't in the right frame of mind to join. However I am ready to get rid of my divorce 17lb gain! Stress effects people in different ways - mine was to eat Blush

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 25/01/2017 13:31

I have had cake too, queen. Someone brought in home-made birthday cake. I cracked. If it is a) not a fast day and b) really really nice homemade cake and c) I haven't taken enough lunch and am starving then my willpower is not up to it!

Arsey, I have a 9 inch difference!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 25/01/2017 14:15

It sounds like I have a similar build to Quim, in that I have a small frame and when I gain weight I look awful, way worse than friends of mine who are a similar height and weight. Any extra weight all goes to my tits and middle and I end up looking like a small barrel on legs. On the flip side though, it means that when I manage to lose weight, it is really noticeable.

Welcome Soft! I just have some scales that I got at Tesco quite cheaply, they don't do anything fancy but they work fine if you keep them on a flat surface. Did you move your scales around between readings at all? That confuses mine.

ArseyTussle · 25/01/2017 14:42

Hello and welcome Soft. These are the scales I have. I like them because they're digital, with big numbers, and they weight in multiples of 100g, so every little loss can be seen!

I prowled around my house with a spirit level until I found a good place to weigh and then I put the scales exactly there each time.

TVHubbyClaire · 25/01/2017 14:58

Woke up this morning with Lindas on my mind....

Weighed myself and am now 13st 2, so about two Lindas down since I joined the thread but after my NSV on Sunday I had kind of hoped for a bigger decrease.

Off to google what my ideal weight should be.perhaps 12st 7 is too optimistic

Softpebbles · 25/01/2017 14:59

Argh they are the ones I have! I think I need to mark the skirting and put them in exactly true same place. I weigh in my bathroom which has Lino flooring. Wonder if carpet it better.
It's a brand new house so I imagine the floors aren't level!
