Happy New Year Slenderistas.

Let's move away from the Christmas bugger and ditch Linda for good.

I just don't think I could handle that psychologically. 800 calories? That would feel like too much (or rather too little) to handle for 8 weeks. But hats off if you can manage it.

It really isn't that bad past the first few days, I don't have breakfast, have about 200 for lunch in the form of full fat greek yog and berries and then I just have a normal sized dinner for about 600 cals. I don't always keep to the 800 but I never go above 1000 if I am on plan.

I tend to do it 5:2 style, 5 days on plan, then might have a treat or two at the weekend. I really want to break through the 12st marker though so I will be very very good even at weekends for the next few weeks.

I feel that dropping to broth at lunch time before xmas was a bad decision because I didn't have enough healthy fats to metabolise so my weightloss really tailed off. Hopefully I will see some good progress this month!

BitOutOfPractice · 03/01/2017 10:31

I do 1200 calories a day and usually stick to that 6 days a week. I'll stick to it like glue in January with no booze. So I guess it's not that different from what you're doing calorie wise.

I find my weight loss is much better if I have breakfast

LiquoriceWheel · 03/01/2017 10:50

I know, it's so awful having these teeny tiny micro meals but we'll adjust Smile and be those really annoying 'oh I'm so full after two bites people' Grin

LiquoriceWheel · 03/01/2017 11:02

I was referring to Paulat2112 comment about 600 cals. I'm still a bit new to this site Grin

Noofly · 03/01/2017 11:48

excellent! You can shout at me when I inevitably post that I have had my first secondthirdfourthfifth biscuit!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 03/01/2017 12:28

600 calories seems so little Shock I do 5:2, so I stick to 500 calories two days a week, but I couldn't do that every day!

Today is my first fast day of the year, it's going pretty well. I'm not at work but I have a busy afternoon, which will hopefully mean I don't have time to think about being hungry.

QuimReaper · 03/01/2017 12:35

Isn't BSD 800 cals a day paula? I could probably manage that for at least part of the week but never 600!

Do we have three brides to be on this thread then? That's the only thing that really got my fat arse in gear so good luck to you all! Beans if the weight gain has just been a Christmas / festive one I'm sure you'll manage to ditch it in a couple of weeks, no problem.

Having another go at a Golden Day here. I just want to eat bacon and chocolate and cheese and wine.

QuimReaper · 03/01/2017 12:38

Buster I often weigh in on Friday mornings too, we can be weigh-in buddies! I sometimes do Thursday morning if I have Thursday evening plans but I do try and avoid those. You'll like weighing in with me, I never manage more than a 1lb loss Grin

lastqueenofscotland · 03/01/2017 12:40

Is there a set day for weigh ins people are planning to follow?

BitOutOfPractice · 03/01/2017 12:43

lastqueen I think the consensus previously has been that you should only weigh in once a week. But when in the zone, onsessive twice daily weighing can happen

I've just eaten some chocolate FFS Angry

ArseyTussle · 03/01/2017 12:50

Yes, what day is weigh in? Think it would be good to have people to congratulate/commiserate with.

If we started on the 1st would it make sense for it to be a Monday?

HairsprayBabe · 03/01/2017 12:57

I weigh every day, keeps me on track, some people go for Fridays, some Mondays, there are no rules, it's like the hunger games, but with less killing and significantly more hunger!

Welcome to the Hungry Games 2017! May the Gods of the Scales be ever in your favor!

lastqueenofscotland · 03/01/2017 13:05

I think I'll go for Tuesday then as I weighed today!

wearingbiggirlpants · 03/01/2017 13:08

Please may I join in too? I'm back to SW tonight, haven't weighed in since 20 Dec, think I'm going to have put at least 5lbs on, sigh... have really gone for it over Xmas, it's like I self destruct. Never mind back to work urrgh and Back on plan today but need to go food shopping as only cheese, bacon, chocs and booze left in the house Hmm

BitOutOfPractice · 03/01/2017 13:09

Friend of mine made her husband stand at the fridge and eat all the leftovers last night Grin

OP posts:
QuimReaper · 03/01/2017 13:14

Hairspray Grin

lastqueen yep, people have different preferences. Some hardcore types like to weigh in first thing even after a big meal out the night before Shock

I prefer to weigh in once a week, and only after at least two days on the trot to tip the scales in my favour Wink

BitOutOfPractice · 03/01/2017 13:18

Quim I read that as "only after at least two days with the trots" Grin

OP posts:
HairsprayBabe · 03/01/2017 13:22

Well that would certainly put the scales in your favor BOOP Grin

QuimReaper · 03/01/2017 13:35

BOOP I wouldn't put it past me to temporarily poison myself for a scale victory... Grin

BeyondTheStarryNight · 03/01/2017 13:35

I'm a daily weigher, apart from when I forget! Grin

Just had pork belly and broccoli for lunch, then two chocobons Hmm
I figured spreading them out is better than "saving them for a rainy day", then eating the whole pack...?

BitOutOfPractice · 03/01/2017 13:36

Anyone else read the thread about workplace cake culture?

I've got a bit aerated on it Blush

Mummyreindeerlegz · 03/01/2017 13:40

Hello! I missed that you had abandoned me and my Linda's on the Christmas thread.

I'm feeling very very podgy.

This year I'm planning to walk 1000 miles, row to Paris (at the gym) and to lose two stone over the year. So can I still play? I want to get 7lbs off this month but not next month necessarily.

HairsprayBabe · 03/01/2017 13:49

Mummy We are doing the 1000 miles challenge at work! I will keep you updated with how far I get!

I want to lose another 2st, maybe 2 and a half, see how I feel at 10.7!

Ooh BOOP saw the thread, it isn't great having treats around every corner of the office or my house for that matter. I got given so much for Christmas, I have decided what I am going to eat of it (1 bar of lemon drizzle choccy and some dark chocolate coffee beans) and the rest I have given to DP or the food bank, I know it isn't ideal but I couldn't just chuck it out! Plus there are always treats on the filing cabinets at work. I moved seats so I couldn't see them in the end, and I haven't had anything from them since the summer!

I do like to feed though, and some people will be proud of homebakes etc. It is about balance, and that doesn't mean a cake in each hand!

SpuriouserAndSpuriouser · 03/01/2017 13:49

I saw it BOOP, I was going to weigh in on it but it all got a bit bun-fighty so I decided not to Grin

I am going to aim to weigh once a week, probably on a Friday. I think that will be better for my motivation than weighing every day and feeling dispirited when the numbers stick or I go out for dinner and gain a little bit.
