Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

That's meant to say better off than on !!

honeysucklejasmine · 31/12/2016 08:50

Indeed, at least it wasn't a gain! 😂

Imnotacelebgetmeouttahere · 31/12/2016 09:30

About to do my daily weigh in / results but wanted to say to those that feel like they want to .... take photo! I hate body photos however I'm so glad I took some at the start because despite having miles left to go the difference already has been really encouraging ... I could easily get hung up on how far is left to go rather than how far I've come ...so if you can ... do it Grin

Imnotacelebgetmeouttahere · 31/12/2016 09:36

Today's weigh In: 0.2lb lost ... poss the pizza I had yesterday Blush

honeysucklejasmine · 31/12/2016 10:13

Well we've all lost so far! 😂

Lowdoorinthewal1 · 31/12/2016 10:30

Hello, could I join? I am 37 and have decided I do not want to be in the statistic that 80% of 40-60s are overweight/ drink too much/ exercise too little (I am guilty of all three Blush).

Lost to date: 5lb
Left to lose: 97lb

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 31/12/2016 10:42

I've let the side down - I've not lost anything! However, I've not tried at all this week, and starting in earnest today. Really feeling the need for something fresh-tasting after a week of festive eating and lots of beige food Blush

Left to lose: 112 lbs
Lost this week: 0

BreakingSad · 31/12/2016 11:19

Left to lose: 90 lbs

CrazyDuchess · 31/12/2016 11:36

Can i jump on? Psychologically I can't weigh in until tomorrow.... I am an utter mess, but have been here before and really need to do something about my weight before it kills me Blush I am so utterly ashamed of how I look Sad

I'll. Post stats tomorrow

MirabelleTree · 31/12/2016 12:17

How lovely to see more people, welcome Smile

There's no letting the side down if you haven't lost Notractors and you have already lost 12lbs, soon be a stone.

Endurance is going to be my word of 2017. Don't think I'm brace enough to take photos of myself, huge respect to anyone who does !

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 31/12/2016 12:25

Thanks Mirabelle - it was slightly tongue in cheek, but I think you've set an excellent precedent for those who don't lose anything over a week - endurance will be key! Grin

I'm undecided about the photos...I might brave one tomorrow!

honeysucklejasmine · 31/12/2016 15:45

I celebrated my 1/2lb loss by having a three course meal at Prezzo. My first intentional meal off plan since September, so I don't feel too guilty.

harderandharder2breathe · 31/12/2016 18:22

Me! Not starting til 4th Jan as I'm away from home til then and have zero willpower.

I need to lose in the region of 130-140lbs to be a healthy weight (i'm very short) which is so overwhelming to write down

I'll be doing Slimming World

Fabiantheking · 31/12/2016 19:59

I have been reading this thread since it started trying to decide whether to post or not.
I have 103lbs to lose to get to the top of the healthy weight range and about 120lbs to get to the middle.
The problem is I have no belief that I can do it. I have never managed to lose more than 7lbs when I have tried to diet in the past and that was 5+ years ago. Now whenever I try I normally decide it is too difficult and give up on the first day Sad.

I need to do something though, I am worried about getting diabetes, I have a skin problem which will be helped by losing weight and I am starting to get foot problems.

I am not very good at keeping up with threads but I might lurk and hopefully be inspired by everyone's success Smile

crikeyomikey · 31/12/2016 20:59

Please can I join? I need to lose at least 100lb.

Fabian your post could have been written by me! I rarely manage a day on
a diet, and then panic about diabetes all the time. BUT this could be our year.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 31/12/2016 21:04

I'm sat here with a glass bottle of wine :( oh and had an Indian.
Monday I will conquer my social anxiety and join Slimming world.
I just know I'll be the biggest :(
Happy new year all

ShelaghTurner · 31/12/2016 21:12

I'm still here! Not starting till Weds but still onboard.

Name: ShelaghTurner
Age: 45
Total to lose: 150 lbs
Lost to date: a big fat zero
Left to lose: 150 lbs

I'm starting on the 4th, the day the kids go back. Jan is a tough month as I have both their birthdays the week after so loads of cake and a meal out. But it's got to be done. I've had enough of hating the summer, enough of not being able to walk far, enough of hearing about a plan and my first thought being how much walking does it involve and I'm also sick of feeling like I'm to blame for all the ills of the world because I'm morbidly obese. I want to see my girls grow up and I want to do fun things with them. I've had enough of this. This isn't the life I want to lead so it ends here.

honeysucklejasmine · 31/12/2016 22:13

Oh ladies, don't be scared. I don't go to SW group as its not on at the right time (and i can't afford £5 a week). I do it from home. And, despite my recent efforts, I know it's v easy to lose weight on SW with very little effort. Pop to the shops, buy the magazine and have a go at some if the meal planned recipes.

When I first started I lost 7lb in my first week. You can do it!

CrazyDuchess · 01/01/2017 09:31

Happy New Year all.....

So I jumped on the scale and here are my vital stats

Name: CrazyD
Age:32
Total to lose: 135lbs
Lost to date:Blush
Left to lose:135lbs

So I plan to use MFP to track calories and increase my exercise levels - my goodness I am so utterly fatigues and lack energy!

Good luck all!

PositiveAttitude · 01/01/2017 09:47

IcantthinkofausernameH I felt the same as you about being the largest in the room when I started in June, but when I walked in, I wasn't and it didn't seem to matter anyway! Before June if I was anywhere i would be scouring the place to see if I was the largest person around - just walking down the street - the answer to myself was generally that yes, I was! Blush BUT when I went away in October to a conference I had been in a room full of 1000 ladies for at least 30 minutes before I suddenly realised I had not even thought to see if I was the biggest. It was quite a revelation to me and very releasing.
Now, 6 months in and 3.5 stone down I feel like a "normal fat person" rather than that "Hugely fat person". (I don't mean to offend anyone saying that!!)

You CAN all make a difference and change in 2017. Don't forget that we didnt get large within a few weeks, so we can't expect to lose it all within a few weeks. Just take one step at a time, One day at a time, or even one meal time at a time and see the change.

I do think that a big portion of the battle is won or lost in your brain. Will power is so very fickle!!!

Come on ladies we can do this!! There are lots of stories on facebook that have encouraged me - I mean the personal ones that people put on with pictures of themselves before and after, not the ones promoting ridiculous weightloss programmes and products.

Happy new year everyone.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 01/01/2017 10:07

positive - thank you, I needed to hear that. I'm determined I will be there tomorrow morning, DP doesn't think I can do it but I'll show him & everyone.
Been referred for WLS so this is the last chance I've got of achieving it myself, which is what I want.
Well done on losing 3.5st! Flowers

As I think I mentioned before, I am pregnant and have almost gained 2 stone in this pregnancy. I'm a little worried as I'm high risk and due to have a c section in 4/5 weeks so I know the consultant isn't going to be happy.

We were TTC this little one for 4 years, but my weight was an issue and we were unable to be referred for fertility investigations. I lost about 2 stone with slimming world and we fell pregnant which was amazing but I've definitely taken on the eating for 2 thing!

I'm going to cut back as of today and try and just maintain my weight maybe until the little one is here. I sure as hell don't actually feel like eating much but it's if I can actually stop myself reaching for all the nice stuff Confused

Laselva · 01/01/2017 11:17

I'm in.

Name - Laselva
Age - 42
Total to lose - 100lb

Starting today, just weighed myself and I'm now officially my heaviest ever! I'm doing veganuary, I really want to focus on eating healthily so lots of smoothies, soups and pulses.
Happy New Year to all and good luck.

TaliDiNozzo · 01/01/2017 11:44

Happy New Year everyone. :)

Great start for me, totally forgot to weigh myself this morning! Doh!

Breakfast was two eggs and baked beans, which is 9 weight watchers smartpoints apparently. Would usually have spinach and mushrooms with it but haven't done the shopping yet. Very organised as usual here!

WhereHaveYouGinAllMyLife · 01/01/2017 14:22

Happy new year!

I'm in, I probably need to lose a bit over 150lbs but 100lbs seems like a good goal for 2017. I'm 28 and really want to be a healthy bmi before I'm 30. I've tried every diet going and have usually been successful in losing 4/5 stone before I fall of the wagon and then just sort of ignore it until I get desperate again Confused. I'm going back to paleo (I know it's bollocks all to do with how paleolithic people ate 😁) because it is the diet I felt the least deprived on and it made my skin look healthy too, so that's got to be a good sign right? I weighed myself on the 27th and am going to try and hang off another week or so before I weigh in again as I usually get a nice big high number at first which will spur me on.

Good luck everyone
