Anyone looking to lose 100lbs plus in 2017?

TaliDiNozzo · 27/12/2016 11:31

Just that really. I promise myself every year that I'm going to do it then I'm sat here every fucking year still not having done it.

I think I probably need to lose around 150lbs tbh but I thought it might be helpful to have a 100lbs plus thread for anyone in a similar boat to me.

How are you planning on doing it? I am restarting Weight Watchers (at home on the app), clean-ish eating and setting myself a daily step goal. Am also moving house in January/February which helps (in my mind) with the fresh start ethos.

Lumpy ribs??? Does anyone else have little lumps on their ribs? Is it that I never noticed these because I couldn't actually feel my ribs or do I have dodgy small lumps that need a doctor?Confused

Kindly check your ribs and report back. Thanking you.

Yes notanurse! But not as hard. Just little lumps. Good to know it's not just me 😊

MirabelleTree · 27/04/2017 11:56

Great loss Ilovewine and welcome back MinniesandMickeys need counting.

No lumpy ribs here but I do have lumpy hip bones.

Just been for blood test and she weighed me, I'm 6lbs lighter on their scales . I desperately want to believe them, she pointed out they are calibrated regularly, do I dare believe them? That would mean 25kg loss from when the GP weighed me (on his digital scales versus these needle scales).

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 27/04/2017 13:00

I have no lumpy bones - I feel so left out!

Mirabelle I'd go for the win and take that 6lbs loss Wink You've done so well, it's really inspiring!

All well here - braving the gym again tonight, so we'll see how it goes!

BreakingSad · 27/04/2017 18:45

No lumpy bits here either.

Welcome back MinnieandMickie.

Notractors keep at the gym, you'll feel more relaxed after a few more visits and you'll be fine.

Mirabelle I'd second that's a win, you're doing fantastic.

I've had a good week and even managedvtwo yoga videos on you tube.

ZestyDragon · 27/04/2017 23:21

Mirabelle well done!

So not many have lumpy ribs then? Next time I go to the doc I better mention it. Poor DH suffers from anxiety/depression and is now convinced I have cancer.

I think it is the fat breaking down Zesty but to put your mind at rest mention it. The feeling of marbors ckmrs up if you gpoke squishy fat and wooshes. My ribs are mostly covered by my boobs still !

Am impressed you are going to the gym Notractors, hope it went well.

No Friday WI today as don't trust the scales. Friend checked them against hers and showed mine as 3.5lbs heavier but that is a much lower weight than I am. DD is gutted as was just showing into healthy BMI and thinks she is probably still underweight (how on earth is she my daughter?!)

We've decided new scales are in order
.Does anyone have any that weigh similar to their GP's one ?

Fingers crossed for tomorrow Notanurse. Mine play up if I get too hungry. They play up if I'm not hungry though, has kicked off again. I been last year you would have gained a bit. STS is a victory in my book.

I really need scales I can trust. Sounds stupid but I feel a bit adrift not trusting mine, they have maybe become a bit of a crutch.

FairfaxAikman · 28/04/2017 15:49

Hi all.

I have lost 30lb since the start of the year. Only another 112lb to go!

MirabelleTree · 28/04/2017 16:04

Hi Fairfax and welcomeSmile Great start to the year !

KarenW · 28/04/2017 18:49

Hi, I am new on this thread, started the "lose a whole person" thing on 7th Feb, and today I hit the 4 stone off mark! I have got another 6 or 7 stone to go, it's so good to know that I am not the only person that is doing this, have been lurking for a while and its great encouragement..Onward and downwards to all of us!

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 28/04/2017 19:41

Hi Karen and Fairfax - welcome and well done, it sounds like you've both lost a lot already. What plans are you following? I think we have a mixture of things on this thread Smile

I'm quite sore after being at the gym last night - it was intimidating, but I feel better after going. Working it around the DCs, homework, food, bed-times and everything else was hard work though, so I think it might have to be a weekend thing.

Did get a v. nice lipstick today (unopened, spare from a work colleague) which is fab and has made me more determined to look after my skin and wear a bit more slap than I'm used to Grin

ZestyDragon · 28/04/2017 23:33

Welcome Karen and Fairfax :)

Mirabelle I get the whole scales thing. My husband keeps threatening to take the scales away as I am a bit obsessed.

Well done for going to the gym "Notanurse* and get rid of those gallstones asap. I am so glad mine are out.

Start: 287lbs
Current: 237lbs
Loss this week: 1lbs
Loss: 50lbs
To go: 77lbs
Goal: 160lbs

I don't feel I had a good week this week. I was at a work convention last weekend and did two 16 hour days this week. This means very little exercise and I really do feel exercise is the key to weight loss for me. Fingers crossed this week I will have more control over things.

MirabelleTree · 29/04/2017 05:40

Welcome Karen , you are off to a cracking start!

Zesty take the scales away 😯 Well done on 1lb loss, if it doesn't seem much have a look at a pound of butter and imagine that gone. Given yiyrvweek that pound off is especially brilliant. Get what you mean about exercise.

I need to get new scales for DH's sake. He's plugging away at the last few pounds, trying to balance blood sugars (type 1) with it and he may potentially be where he needs to be.

Well done notanurse!

I've STS the same this week Blush - despite the gym and the avoidance of pastries!

But, it is what it is, and even if the scales haven't shifted, there's no doubt that I'm living a more healthy life, and more mindful of what I'm fuelling my body with. KOKO!

BreakingSad · 29/04/2017 10:46

To lose 113
Lost this week 1
Lost to date 38
Left to lose 75

Pleased with this, as I feel quite bloated as AF is due.

Well done everyone and I completely agree that it is trying to get the balance. It may take longer, but for me it's helping me have a healthier relationship with food.

We've nearly filled this thread upSmile

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 29/04/2017 11:04

Breaking Yes, it's nearly full! I'm happy to set a new one up and link to it once we're a bit closer, if no-one else has a burning desire to do it?

I've just done some sums again and the total we've lost in this thread is 315 lbs! Shock Especially considering we went through a bit of a dip at the end of March, I think that's amazing - well done all! Star

315lbs is a bit mind blowing Shock

Well done NotaNurse you've hit the nail on the head, it has to be sustainable and we have to learn lessons from this to help us to maintain when the time comes.

Notractors nothing wrong with STS or a gain for that matter, it's the long term trend. I bet you see this week's loss next week. If you don't mind setting up a new thread that would be great, thanks.

Breakingsad well done and agree it is about balance.

Picked up some jeans in Sainsbury's yesterday, a couple of pairs of 16 which fit then a 14 as my next target jeans. My boobs might not have got the memo about shrinking yet and so t shirts are a 20. I do need some as DD commented on how baggy everything was, a nice moment.

iloveredwine · 01/05/2017 06:44

So lost 1lb this week so makes 7 so far. Got af this week and feel so bloated. Also ate out twice but made better choices and not the huge burger I would have eaten before! Smile

MirabelleTree · 01/05/2017 07:00

Well done iloveredwine first half a stone gone. Can I suggest that you get a tape measure and measure yourself? A friend pretty much made me as I thought can't be araed with that, glad she did now.

I tried on the 14 jeans I have to see how far up my thighs they would go and was pretty amazed to find they did fit over my backside and I could even do them up. Created the worlds largest muffin to but they were on. Back in wardrobe for a bit but hopefully out again in the summer holidays. I had that whole looking at them and thinking they looked small, guess it takes time for the brain to catch up. Also didn't have to worry whether I would fit at a booth type table yesterday, really seeing the benefits now.
